The Mala Dhara Resort itself is a vision that has only recently manifested, but with deep roots in the flourishing and internationally recognized Chiang Mai yoga community. At Mala Dhara, yoga is not just a service or amenity that they are able to arrange for you, it is a lifestyle. Mala Dhara offers private yoga classes upon request for their guests with either a variety of yoga teachers or with Kru Ploy herself, the owner and your host at Mala Dhara during your stay.

Ploy’s yoga training background is in Ashtanga and Anusara and she is known throughout Chiang Mai’s yoga community and northern Thailand to have a vigorous yoga practice but a gentle heart. She is a regular guest yoga teacher at Wild Rose Yoga Studio in the old city of Chiang Mai and you are definitely in for a treat when Ploy is available for private yoga instruction at Mala Dhara.

Yoga classes at Mala Dhara are held in one of the two yoga shalas: either next to the saltwater pool with comfortable fans, soft lighting, and cozy atmosphere or in the organic gardens on the edge of the resort with a natural breeze and wide expansive views of the misty mountains and verdant rice fields.

The Kin Dee Restaurant is the very heart of the Mala Dhara and reflects their attitudes and ethos. They like their food fun, fresh, local, organic, and quality in every way possible. They strive to pour their hearts out, laugh until it hurts, and take the source, quality, and taste of all of their ingredients seriously.

While on your yoga retreats at the Mala Dhara, it is always possible to book a private massage from one of their talented and affordable massage therapists at an additional cost.

The Mala Dhara yoga retreat offers ample time to rest or enjoy the local surroundings. For some, this means cycling through the plentiful rice fields or taking a 10-minutes scooter ride to the local hot springs. "Beautiful countryside scenery resort along with Kin Dee restaurant. Lovely breakfast both Thai and vegan. The second floor of Kin Dee is recommended for the best spot for the sunset dinner. Would love to go back again."
