In the creation of this 200-hour yoga teacher training syllabus, Mahi Yoga has brought together ancient Vedic and yogic knowledge with the modern practices of science and teaching methodology in order to send their students out into the world secure in their yogic journey as well as confident and ready to teach. The carefully designed multi-style yoga courses provide training in three main styles of yoga: Hatha (including traditional and therapeutic), Ashtanga Vinyasa, and Vinyasa yoga. All courses are certified by Yoga Alliance.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Mahi Yoga would love to host you at the Mahi Yoga School Centre. The purpose built centre is a closed campus which includes rooms, yoga Shala and a restaurant.

Students who complete the training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).
This training aims to weave together both the theory, physical practice, and the subtler introspective aspects such as meditation in order to provide students with a holistic yoga experience.
Mahi Yoga aims for students to learn through experience which makes their courses highly practical and experiential. The 200-hour yoga teacher training is an intense course that is a total yoga immersion where you can expect to experience some positive changes. Students often comment on the life-changing aspects of the courses.
Mahi Yoga recommends the 200-hour yoga teacher training in Dharamshala for practitioners of yoga who want to deepen their practice as well as those who wish to teach.
This training is the initial foundation yoga course to be able to teach yoga classes. Even though these 200-hour courses are aimed at prospective teachers, and the courses teach in detail how to teach, all of the knowledge learned can be applied to the individual practitioner. One of the best ways to learn is to learn to teach!
Experienced yogis and beginners alike will gain a lot from the knowledge this course delivers. But Mahi Yoga does recommend that applicants have a minimum of 6 months of practice before the start of the course and that they are physically fit, so that they are prepared for the four hours of daily yoga practice. All applications will be considered on an individual basis. If you are unsure about anything at all please feel free to send an inquiry.
You will cover 200 hours of training in 22 days of an intensive course. Each day begins at 7 a.m. and ends at 7 p.m. Monday to Friday, with a half-day on Saturdays. Sundays are free.
During the first week Hatha yoga, traditional yoga, and Iyengar yoga, the asana class is conducted to ensure students learn and fully understand basic asana/yoga poses. sun salutations, standing poses, and the sequencing of a hatha yoga class is explained.

The focus on applying the four tools of teaching is central to the course, they are:

Students present their final teaching exam by teaching a class demonstrating all the 4 qualities they have now learned. They complete a written exam. It is mandatory that all students must attend the entire course and all exams, receive feedback, etc.
The training ends with a certificate ceremony and farewell.
The syllabus covers the following topics:
One time sightseeing around Dharamshala, visiting places of interest including Hindu temples, Tibetan Buddhist monasteries and art institutes.
When Mahi was 11, his family members, being all yogis, taught him yoga. The whole family belonged to the yoga meditation and pranayama, therefore focusing on the spiritual development of a human. For example, Mahi's father was a disciple of Sri Ramana Maharishi's student. However, not only family members influenced Mahi on his way! He spent a lot of time learning Hatha yoga, Bhakti yoga, meditation, and Karma yoga with monks and swamis. Mahi is E-RYT 500
Amy's (E-RYT 500 and E-RYT 200) love for yoga developed because of her mother's influence when she enrolled her on a yoga course in her teen years. This special seed of yoga grew to fruition as her practice grew, and she found a sense of inner peace and self-confidence that she felt compelled to share. Her classes combine the meditative qualities of movement with introspective moments that allow students to access their own inner guide and find the yoga healing aspect.
