Mahala Yoga has put together a beautiful weekend for you to come and experience the high healing energy that is in Glastonbury. As you may or may not know, Glastonbury is the heart chakra of the planet, the same way you have chakras in your body. The Earth has these energy nodal points too. Many of what is known as Ley Lines meet at the Tor that generates this high vortex of energy, having a powerful impact on you.
Ley Lines are the same as the energy pathways in the body. It is similar to a wave frequency moving etheric of life force energy (Kundalini). The Michael line is a very specific Ley Line that runs through Glastonbury Tor and other sacred sites such as Avebury, Saint Michaels Mount, Bury Saint Edmonds, etc. When you visit these specific sites of strongest earth energies, it is very healing for your bodies energy system.
Notes: Information on doTERRA oils is where you can receive free samples, watch some short films on doTERRA and their healing hands foundation.
In the morning yoga session with Mahala, you will practice yoga asanas (postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises for deep relaxation and rejuvenation) combined with some qigong to balance and harmonize the energy in your body and mind and you will be ready for your weekend. On the evening session, there is specific yoga poses developed with pranayama (breathing exercises).
On Saturday, you will visit the Chalice Well, the White Spring, Glastonbury Tor, the Dragons Egg, the Orchard, Paddington Farm, and Gog and Magog. Gog and Magog are also known as the ‘Oaks of Avalon’. The two trees are said to be a traditional point of entry onto the island. It is 11 feet in diameter and more than 2000 years old.
The next day you will be met at the Abbey Car Park for the closing guided tour with Salah to visit Saint Margarets Chapel and Magdalene Almshouses. You will be stepping back in time to this hidden gem down a lane, a quiet place of contemplation with beautiful energy to absorb.
You will also visit Wearyall Hill, which is a long narrow ridge to the south west of Glastonbury offering views over Glastonbury Tor. It is on this hill that the original Thorn blossomed from the staff of Joseph of Arimathea whom legend says came to Glastonbury after the crucifixion. It is also a sacred place called Brides Mound and this is located on one of the seven islands of Avalon called Beckery. Brides Mound is one of the less frequently visited sacred places in Glastonbury.
In Glastonbury High Street, there are many shops selling lots of different pieces of art, homemade crafts, crystals, clothes, everything and anything that the urban yogi / mystic could need. Also, there are some wonderful coffee shops and eateries to try, from the 100 monkeys to the fine vegan raw food cuisine you will find at Excaliburs Cafe. This cafe is a celebration of tasty vibrant food. You could book a table at Excaliburs Cafe for Saturday evening or Sunday lunch.
There is also a hidden gem of Glastonbury. Tucked away down in the back of a courtyard, you will find Stoneage, a crystal shop like no other, selling many different crystal sound healing instruments, jewelry, etc. The proprietor is Lui Kreig. Lui would hold the sound healing sessions on the previous retreat before here to Glastonbury, so if you get the chance whilst you are here, go!
The map of seven islands of Avalon are Avalon, Beckery, Godney, Meare, Panborough, Marchey, and Nyland. The trace of these seven islands is a terrestrial mirror of the constellation Ursa Major or the Plough. This is supposed to represent the chariot of the King Arthur (the bear) during the precession of the equinoxes lasting a full cycle of 25,920 years. This constellation is an important celestial marker for the astronomers and navigators as Polaris is one of the seven stars mirrored with the Island Nyland.
Each of these places can be visited. They are what you could call ‘sacred spots’ or high energy spots and is really great for meditation. There is also a telluric energy (earth energy), a natural electric current in the Earth's crust and cosmic energy from the constellation. You can also see the Holy Thorn (not the original) on Wearyall Hill, with the views over the Somerset landscape with Glastonbury Tor in the background.
Chalice well gardens is one of Britain's most ancient wells, nestling in the Vale of Avalon between Glastonbury Tor and Chalice Hill. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and orchards, it is a living sacred sanctuary in which the visitor can experience a quiet space and the healing waters. For over 2,000 years, this has been a place where people have gathered to drink the waters containing a rich presence of iron. This shows a red tinge reflecting the color of the robin's throat, a symbol of peace and harmony.
The reservoir is where a white healing spring flows. This comes from below the Tor (hill) and has a high calcite presence. Similarly, as the red spring in Chalice Well, these pools have been built according to the principles of sacred geometry. Once inside, there are simple shrines in honor of the ancient energies and spirits of Avalon creating a space of meditation.
There is also a series of pools where people are welcome to immerse and experience the healing water. All are enhanced by the Michael ley line flowing through this place. Outside of the reservoir is a courtyard where beautiful decors of nature are engraved into the rock. There is a spiral of life symbol observed in nature. This is the symbol of the stillness at the center harnessed when you meditate.
