Expert tip: This is one of the most popular yoga retreats offered in Nepal.
This 3-day retreat is for you if you want to practice yoga and meditation daily, gain knowledge on breathing practices, experience the beauty of the Annapurna Himalayas, and immerse yourself into the yogic lifestyle and local culture.
Annapurna Eco Village resort in Astam offers spacious and bright private rooms (Queen sized beds) with an attached bathroom. There is a huge garden as well as a big, newly built, and inspiring yoga hall where we can practice. From all rooms, you will have views of the Himalayan mountains. Yoga mats are provided.
Local farm/village/jungle tour with Himalayan views is included as an excursion.
Madan was born near Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, in the South of Nepal. At the age of 12, he was introduced to yoga by a yogi master from the Himalayas, with whom he has been practicing yoga for some time. From that moment, yoga became a fundamental part of his life. He completed several yoga teacher training courses and studied yoga philosophy and yoga therapy in various places in India and the Himalayas of Nepal. For many years Madan has taught yoga in groups and private classes as well as organized yoga retreats in Nepal and India.
Nestled in the foothills of the Annapurna Himalayan Range, Astam is the perfect place to rewind and relax, practice yoga and meditation, and breathe. Astam is approximately at a 45 min drive away from Pokhara and offers serenity and peace away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
This village is an ideal spot to immerse yourself in your yoga practice. From here, you will have an amazing view of the Annapurna Himalayan Range as well as surrounding hills and towns.
The serene peaceful village offers ideal surroundings for your learning experience, with minimal distractions. The villagers here live a minimalistic lifestyle aligned with the seasons, harvesting organic vegetables and grains. Such a pure environment will allow you to dive deeper into the practice, re-connect with yourself and observe stillness and tranquility within.
