Really Good 8.1/10
Join in this full moon yoga retreat and immerse yourself in the wonderful remote part of Cyprus. You will come together as yoginis and women practitioners honoring the rhythms of the moon and diving into the energy of the divine feminine. The full moon is an essential time to nourish yourselves and reflect your yoga practices. Two daily yoga classes will be designed to support the replenishing of your body, heart, and spirit.
All accommodation is en-suite and spacious, with air-conditioner, a sea view and its own private terrace. There is a mini bar and a safe in each room. The rooms are cleaned daily and towels are provided.
Your yoga classes will focus on an energetic nourishing of your body, heart, and mind, building steadiness, calm, and strength in body and mind. This is to support the building of “ojas” that will be one of the focuses of all practices and lifestyle recommendations offered during the retreat. Ojas is the subtle essence of the Kapha dosha in Ayurveda and is held to be the source of your vitality, vigour, immunity, and longevity. Ojas literally translates as “glow of health”.
It’s important to spend time to replenish this essence. When the moon is full and the light of the moon shines on you, you will have the perfect condition for building your ojas. Much of your 21st century lifestyle depletes it and yet it is considered in Ayurveda, crucial to your good health and long-life.
You will begin your mornings with Hatha yoga classes, and in the afternoon, you will be guided through Yin and Restorative yoga classes. This combination is to nourish the kapha dosha, soothe the heart and mind, and replenish your energy reserves to build vigor, strength, and immunity. The best part about this is you will be practicing yoga outdoors on a yoga platform in the hotel gardens, a stone’s throw from the sea alongside a deserted unspoiled beach, with stunning views of the coast and mountains.
The yoga classes will be followed by special breathing practices, healing visualizations, and meditations, created to help relieve physical and emotional pain, to nourish the heart, uplift the spirits, to restore positivity, and optimism to the mind.
During the three nights of the June 2017 full moon, under the light of the moon and at the edge of the sea, you will gather on the beach to chant, drum, and meditate together. You will practice silent full moon gazing meditation - a beautiful and powerful practice. You will chant and drum as women in a circle, an uplifting, energizing, and regenerative practice. You will practice pranayamas, known to be auspicious especially on full moon nights for re-invigoration of your shakti (female energy and power).
During the day, you will gather at mid-day to create a circle of shakti (female energy) where your focus will be to the goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of abundance, beauty, and wealth. This will be practical, with guidance on how to move through unconscious limiting beliefs, open to the fullness, and unlimited richness in your hearts from where you can live and move in the world free from any familiar sense; and from a state of completeness, fullness, and infinite potentiality.
Most mornings, you will gather on the beach and meditate together as the sun rises over the mountains and sets over the sea. On the night of the full moon, you will enjoy a special ceremony on the beach.
Please note that there won’t be any class on your arrival day. The class will start the next day. There will also be no planned dinner or afternoon yoga on Friday. This is to give all participants the chance to explore more of the beauty of Cyprus, or simply enjoy more time relaxing in the hotel grounds, or by the sea.
You will join a one-day excursion to a nearby mountain village with herb garden, apothecary, and a lovely cafe with delicious vegan raw food cakes.

You will be staying in a quiet, remote, eco-hotel, set alongside a beautiful stretch of coast in Cyprus. Here, your accommodation and yoga space look out across the sea and are surrounded by peaceful gardens, olive and orange groves, and herb gardens with mountains beyond to three sides. The tranquil, natural setting invites your whole-being to deeply relax and restore itself to balance and happiness.
