During this luxury Yoga weekend in the beautiful Walton Hall & Hotel, we will take time away from the hurry of every day life to rejuvenate body, mind and spirit with seasonal Ayurvedic Yoga practices, restorative guided meditations, Ayurvedic seasonal cordon vert meals, country walks, and use of the hotel Spa facilities. Rejuvenate whilst learning how to keep body strong and spirits bright through the winter months.
During this retreat, you will be staying at Mercure Warwickshire Walton Hall Hotel and Spa. The hotel is set in 65 acres of stunning countryside, with landscape gardens, and woods and pastures beyond. The hall itself is a grade II listed 16th century building.
All accommodation is en-suite and spacious. There are standard single and double or twin rooms available in the hotel (which comprises a more modern building and conversion of the estate stable blocks). It is also possible to upgrade your room to one of the stunning luxury suites in the original 16th century hall.
There is a swimming pool, gym, and sauna at the hotel for your enjoyment, and a lovely conservatory bar in the hall with views across the grounds for tea, coffees, and other drinks.
On this weekend, you will practice morning Hatha and Ayurvedic Yoga and afternoon Restorative-Yin yoga styles. You will need to have at least a little yoga experience to join this retreat. Classes will be created with the winter season in mind and with an awareness of how Ayurveda prescribe that you best support your body at this time. Also aware of the challenges the season can bring on a mental level, the yoga postures, breathing techniques, and meditations you will practice will be designed to help your mind and heart to stay bright and positive, and your immune systems strong and in balance.
Your meals will be created using a tasty blend of Ayurveda and macrobiotics seasonal recipes. You can take the recipes and new lifestyle and dietary tips home with you tips so that the well-being you feel on the retreat can last long after the weekend has finished.
Morning and evening guided meditations will offer you a rare chance to rest in deep stillness, giving your nervous systems time to pause, and the busy-ness in your minds a chance to subside. This transition from Autumn to Winter is a time to turn inwards toward that inner peace that is our birthright and yet so often eludes us in our busy daily lives. The guided meditations and visualizations will support our immunity and positivity. Yoga The Hatha-Ayurveda yoga classes will be created specifically to support inner peace of mind and strength in the body. Afternoon Restorative and Yin yoga practices, also with guided breathing practices and a healing visualization, will target the energetic balancing of the lung and large intestine functions, to help boost digestion and immunity. These practices should leave your body and mind feeling relieved of tensions, clearer, lighter, and more energized.

Shama learned yoga from her yoga teacher, who taught her the power of the breathing practices of Hatha yoga. She spent a lot of time traveling around the globe to places such as India, Japan, Thailand, Italy, USA, Canada, and the Bahamas, where she learned from and practiced many healing and spiritual traditions, before managing an integrative health clinic in London. She took her teacher training course from Sivananda Ashram yoga retreat in the Bahamas.

The food you will eat during this retreat will be seasonal and local foods as prescribed in Ayurveda and macrobiotics. The food will be drawn from the instructions of these wisdom traditions to create delicious, balancing meals which will ground your energy, soothe the digestion, and support a strengthening of the immune system. The focus will be on naturally “sweet” tastes (not the sugary dessert kind) and grounding foods, such as whole grains and root vegetables. The foods will be plant based, and will be selected for their ease of digestion which should support the cleansing and balancing, healing work of your yoga practices. The foods will be cleansing and at the same time rejuvenating for the body. There will be healing and balancing herbal teas chosen with the challenges of the season in mind. Meals are taken in the Orangery Restaurant, awarded AA Rosette for fine food, with views over the hotel gardens or in a private dining room in the Hall (according to availability). Special dietary requirements can be met, such as gluten-free and dairy-free, but please notify LoveYogaHealing in advance.
In between classes and meal times, you are free to enjoy the peace and quiet of the hotel garden, or to explore the beauty, history, and culture of the surrounding area.
A 10 minute drive away is Compton Verney, a beautiful estate whose house has been architecturally designed recently to be a wonderful museum and art gallery with many interesting exhibitions. Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick are both only approximately a 20 minute drive away. You may like to take time between classes to visit the Shakespeare sites in Stratford-upon-Avon or the historic castle in Warwick.
Also nearby is the pretty market town of Shipston on Stour, with many independent quality shops.

Please book your flight to arrive at Birmingham International Airport (BHX). A taxi will be arranged to pick you up from the airport.
If you choose to travel by train, Warwick Parkway station is about 10 miles away from the retreat venue. A taxi will be arranged to pick you up from Warwick Parkway. From Birmingham International Airport, you can also take a train to Leamington Spa or Warwick Parkway from where a taxi can be arranged to collect you.
