The lodges have been designed to work in harmony with the natural surroundings. They are the ideal place for relaxing and disconnecting from daily stress. The quiet and serenity of being in nature means you can 'retreat' completely here and sleep soundly.
The comfortable huts, made out of palm leaves, bamboo and straw, give you the necessary luxury without taxing the environment. Due to the seasonal monsoon rains and a local law prohibiting any brick buildings near the beach, the beach huts are rebuilt every year using local organic materials.
They are simple, clean and comfortable. All huts have attached bathrooms, storage space for clothes, and comfortable beds. The balcony comes equipped with a hammock - the perfect spot for meditating, reading or just watching the sea and for you to spend the time outside to enjoy the sunshine. The nights at the huts are perfectly silent and you can fall asleep listening to the sound of the waves.
To be true to nature all accommodation has been built with natural materials including bamboo, wood and canvas. Goa is often called the Pearl of the Orient. It is full of pleasant surprises; charming little villages with colourful churches; succulent rice fields next to Hindu temples; a 100-kilometer long coastline lined with coconut palm trees.
A melting pot of different cultures, Goa is shaped by its Indian and Portuguese heritage. From 1510 until 1961 Goa was under Portuguese rule. This European influence is still evident in many houses and churches built in the typical colonial style. Goa is known for its World Heritage architecture and temples.
Goa is the smallest but richest state in India with 1.3 million inhabitants living on an area of 3702 km2. It is on the south west coast of the Indian subcontinent.

The Indian bus network is very well developed, although the roads are often rather bumpy and this is definitely the least comfortable option for travelling. Make sure you get a sleeper bus if travelling overnight and possibly even reserve two seats if you don't want to share your couchette with a stranger.
Buses coming from big cities (Mumbai, Pune, Delhi etc.) stop at Margao so from there you will need to get a local bus or taxi to Patnem. Some buses from the south or east (Hampi) stop at Chaudi (only 5 to 10 minutes by rickshaw).
Some trains stop at Chaudi station (only 5 to 10 minutes by rickshaw from Louts Yoga Retreat). Alternatively you can get a train to Margao and then catch a local bus or taxi to Patnem which takes about an hour.
