Willka Tika is located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, one of the most energetically charged places on Earth. Nestled in the majestic mountains, valleys and foothills of Machu Picchu; this sacred place is an unforgettable setting for your authentic Andean retreat in the Pachamama heart of Peru. Willka Tika offers a wide variety of natural and cultural experiences.
Willka Tika has been consciously created and ecologically inspired by natural simplicity. There is a sustainably luxurious ambiance in harmony with the texture, tones and beauty of nature. The spaces are filled with natural light, offering sublime views of the gardens and mountains. The living room has earthy tones, cosy furnishings and a warm fire place for cool mountain evenings. The spacious bedrooms have been lovingly designed and uniquely decorated with traditional Peruvian features, Andean themes, local artwork and splashes of colour. Enjoy views of the mountains, abundant gardens and blooms by daylight. Fresh-cut blossoms adorn your room and cozy hot-water bottles warm your bed at night.
On waking up in this stunning natural location, we will do a blissful sunrise sadhana. The yoga shala has wooden floors, high vaulted ceilings, natural sunlight, and views. Moving through beautiful sequencing and creative namaskars, we will embody the Sacred Spirit and power of nature through Elemental Inspired Vinyasa and Dharma Yoga. These soulful practices create a sense of connection, openness, and vibrancy, leaving you feeling radiantly uplifted and alive. In the afternoons, you will surrender to a Yin Yoga and meditation sadhana, allowing your being to rest, replenish, and rejuvenate.
Between nourishing your body and bowl, immerse your soul in the serene chakra gardens. These healing gardens are designed with flowers, symbols, sculptures, and medicinal plants that resonate with one of the seven chakras of the yoga tradition. Meditate, write, read, paint, mindfully walk, or simply relax in the pure Pachamama beauty of the earth. The Crown Chakra garden includes a 1000-year-old pre-Incan Lucuma tree, that is still fruit-bearing.
Detoxify and restore your body in the Umpina Wasi sweat lodge, cool in the Hampi Yaku medicinal plunge pool, and relax in a restorative bath with the sacred plant essence of choice. You may also indulge in healing Andean massage, aromatherapy, hot stone massage, or shiatsu; experience crystal light therapy or outdoor floral solar baths infused with flowers, medicinal herbs, and local Maras salt.
You will close each day together watching the light of the sun set upon the mountain peaks. On your last evening, you will share a cacao ceremony and fire circle to unite you with Mother Nature and the sacred spirit inside your own self.
One of the founding principles at Willka Tika is the Quechua concept of ayni or reciprocity. Ayni translates to ‘today for you, tomorrow for me’, meaning that our energy and destiny are intrinsically entwined and dependent on each other.
Heidi has over one thousand hours of yoga teacher training. As a writer and teacher of literature, she is inspired by language and art and these creative qualities are woven within the precise alignment of classical asana. Flowing transitions between dynamic and static poses are guided by the rhythm of the breath, creating a tandava, a graceful dance of breath and movement. She designs each class with a balance of alignment, yoga assists, form and flow; pranayama, Indian philosophy, and meditation.
