Picture yourself hiking through the mountains of the lush Atlantic Rainforest and cooling off in hidden waterfall pools. Envision living the peaceful practice of yoga in a tropical paradise unlike any other.
After several years of practicing and teaching together, master yoga teachers Mimi Ray and Jessica Lee are offering a very special opportunity for yoga practitioners and teachers to deepen their practice in beautiful Brazil. Mimi and Jessica will be hosting an off-the-beaten path yoga adventure and teacher training in the northern region of Rio de Janeiro state.
You will be spending most of the training on a private farm in Sana. The remainder of the trip will be in a pousada near the beach in Arraial do Cabo. Accommodation will be in shared rooms of up to three people, but private rooms are also available upon request at extra cost.
This is much more than your average yoga retreat. You'll stay on a private farm located in a beautiful nature reserve in Brazils atlantic rainforest. In addition to our daily yoga and meditation sessions we will prepare and learn about organic healing foods, chant mantras around campfires, hike through incredible mountain forest trails, and cool off in beautiful waterfalls and ocean lagoons. You will also enjoy guided excursions, massage, delicious vegetarian meals, live music, and other cultural treats.
You will have an opportunity to see Brazil in a way few tourists ever experience. It is also an opportunity to dive deeply into your yoga practice, and experience the yogic lifestyle in a way few practitioners ever do. You will also study the poses in practice, movement and alignment principles, anatomy, philosophy, subtle body anatomy, meditation and the history of yoga. Learn the elements of a good class; develop safe and intelligent sequencing strategies and skills.
Throughout the program, you will have plenty of opportunities to practice teaching, and discover your unique voice as a teacher. This 200-hour yoga teacher training meets and exceeds the curriculum standard of Yoga Alliance in all areas of study.
