Nurture yourself with a weekend break practicing yoga and exploring the surrounding beautiful countryside, here at Little French Retreat. Walking from the house, you will take different routes daily, meandering through woodland, farmland, the organic vineyards of Buzet, or along the canal and River Garonne. With mindful steps and breath, connecting inwardly to gain self-awareness, integrating your internal and external landscape to become one.
There are three double bedrooms offering single and shared accommodation, with a glamping option, sleeping in the bell tent under the stars.
On the ground floor is a comfortable living room with wood burning stove, spacious kitchen and dining area that leads out onto the veranda, shaded under the vines. The terraced garden offers scenic views and the perfect spot to sunset gaze every evening.
The yoga studio is centrally located within the house with high vaulted ceiling and stone walls which help keep everyone cool during the summer months. Whenever possible classes take place outside.
In this retreat, you will visit a beautiful Medieval town once the home to Henry IV with a bustling farmers market packed full of French delicacies, a perfect spot to experience authentic France as you watch the world stroll past.

Little French Retreat is situated in the Lot et Garonne, in South West France. A beautiful area with gently rolling Tuscan style landscape and mild climate. Renowned for its rustic charm, natural beauty and gastronomy. Close by are many medieval Bastide towns and villages, steeped in history holding weekly farmers markets and evening fetes. With the River Garonne, Canal du Garonne and River Baise, there are plenty of paths to cycle or stroll along.

The food are using locally sourced, organic produce, and vegetarian dishes which are a combination of Anglo, Indian, and French flavours. Meal times follow Ayurvedic principles for digestion and improved sleep. Starting the day with morning tea and fruit before yoga, a warming breakfast followed by a light lunch, afternoon tea and evening meal. A nourishing seasonal vegetarian menu served with non-alcoholic refreshments that revive and fortify the body. A relaxed approach, where quality, intention, and balance are influential aspects to everything that happens in the kitchen at Little French Retreat. Teas, fruit, home-baked cakes, and snacks are available throughout the day so you will not go hungry.
Everything is made from scratch with fresh organic and locally sourced produce, avoiding processed foods that contain hidden sugars, salts, and additives. This area of France is renowned for its good food and the quality and taste of fruit and vegetables are an experience to savour.
The food are avoided to use dairy and gluten, as these can be hard to digest and affect the lining of the gut, causing bloating, IBS, skin complaints, and mood disorders. Also, gluten has been found to aid inflammation in the body, so by eliminating both, lessening the chance of disease. Organic goat and sheep cheese are served on the side as they contain less lactose than dairy and therefore easier to digest, and simply delicious.
Natural sugars are used in cooking rather than refined sugars as these do not alter the body's insulin levels creating cravings, blood sugar imbalance and low energy levels. Honey comes from local producers at Nerac market, maple and rice syrups from artisan organic shops.
Stimulants, night-shades, fungi and fermented foods such as caffeine, alcohol, chilli, onions, aubergines, tomatoes, potatoes, mushrooms and vinegar are all reduced but not eliminated entirely, as this helps to aid a calmer mind, improve digestion and increase energy.
Cooking with pulses, non-gluten grains, nuts, superfoods and fortified plant products, helps to provide protein and rebalance the lack of vitamin B12 that is found in abundance in animal products.
Early morning teas
Please book a flight to Bordeaux-Merignac Airport (BOD). Outside Bordeaux-Merignac Airport (BOD) is the The Navette shuttle bus (collection point is located at entrance closest to Billi building), leaving on the hour to Bordeauxs main train station Gare de Saint Jean. From here you can purchase a ticket to Port Ste Marie, the nearest train station to the house. It is possible to collect from Agen too if you take the TGV train from Bordeaux.
You may also choose to book a flight to Outside Toulouse-Blagnac Airport (TLS). Outside Toulouse-Blagnac Airport (TLS) is the The Navette shuttle bus, leaving every 20 minutes to Toulouses main train station Gare de Toulouse-Matabiau. From here you can purchase a ticket to Agen or Port Ste Marie, these are the nearest collection points from the house.
From Paris Gard du Nord take the metro (eurostar) to Montparnasse and from there you need to take the TGV train to Agen which takes 4.5 hours.
