Rest and Renew Australia Yoga Retreat

At St Joseph’s Spirituality and Education Centre, various sized groups (up to a maximum of 54) can be housed over the five areas of the site in 35 comfortable, well-appointed double, twin, or single rooms, all with modern en-suites.

There are extensive gardens and lawns to the edge of Brisbane Waters. This place also provides a swimming pool as well as yoga and meditation properties. A full time dedicated staff is on hand to advise on planning and to ensure the smooth running of your group's activity. Sound and visual equipment for conferences is available on request.

Lisa Pollard Yoga Retreat in Australia Program

Silence will be invited from the end of the evening meditation practice until before lunch each day, to deepen the practice and observe the unfolding experience of the body, heart, and mind.

In this retreat, mindfulness practices in the spirit of self-care are:

  • Gentle and Restorative yoga (silence)
  • Guided sitting and lying down meditation
  • Walking and eating meditation (sequencing)
  • Postural alignment and breath awareness
  • Non-striving, patience, kindness, and generosity


Below is the schedule for this retreat. All practices are optional, feel free to attend what feels right for you each day.

Day 1

  • 15:00 Arrival time
  • 16:30 Group welcome, yoga, and moving into stillness
  • 18:30 Dinner
  • 19:45 Sitting postures and guided mindfulness meditation

Day 2 - 3

  • 07:00 Silent meditation
  • 07:30 Breakfast
  • 09:00 Yoga and moving into stillness
  • 11:00 Morning tea
  • 12:00 Meditation (lying down body scan and walking meditation)
  • 12:30 Lunch and free time
  • 15:00 Afternoon tea

Day 4

Included excursions

Lisa Pollard
Lisa Pollard is a trained yoga and meditation teacher with more than 26 years of self-practice and teaching experience in educational, corporate, medical, and organizational settings.

Retreat location

St Joseph' Spirituality and Education Centre is located in Kincumber South in a natural bushland setting, in a quiet corner of the beautiful Central Coast of New South Wales. The spacious grounds from the Kincumber Broadwater create an atmosphere of tranquility and peace that enhances the spiritual and reflective nature of the center.

How to get there

Driving directions from Sydney

  • From Sydney, you can take F3 freeway as far as the Gosford exit (about 25 minutes).
  • If you are traveling from the north, take the Gosford exit (Central Coast Highway).
  • At this point, you have about 30 minutes to travel before reaching Kincumber South.
  • Follow all the East Gosford / Terrigal signs until you end up on Central Coast Highway just past the East Gosford shopping center.
  • Stay on this road for about 2 kilometers. Make a right turn at lights to Kincumber and Avoca Beach.
  • Stay on this road, Avoca Drive, until you pass Kincumber Shopping Village and Kincumber Public school on the left. *Then, at the roundabout, take a right turn to Woy Woy and continue along Empire Bay Drive.
  • Pass Nautical Village on the right, then after 0.4 kilometer turn right into MacKillop Road.
  • Make a right turn at T-intersection into Humphreys Road and then a right turn into the driveway beside historic sandstone Holy Cross Church.
  • Alternatively, you can take a scenic drive via Woy Woy. Depart the freeway in Gosford and head down the hill into Gosford.
  • At the bottom of the hill where the first traffic lights are, turn right into Brisbane Water Drive.
  • When you reach Woy Woy, turn left at the first set of traffic lights and follow the signs to Kincumber.
  • When you are on Empire Bay Drive and after you pass the Bensville turnoff, you need to prepare to turn left into MacKillop Road.
