Visitors often describe it as 'paradise' - a sentiment you will likely share when you experience it yourself. Accommodations include rooms in the main house with shared bathroom facilities.

Studios with private sea-view balconies, bathrooms, kitchens, and air conditioning. Additionally, a fully equipped sea-view apartment offers rooms with shared kitchen and bathroom access, plus air conditioning. Both the studios and the apartment are a scenic 15-minute walk from the main house.

For those who prefer an even closer connection to nature, tents are available in the garden near the sea. At Limnisa, you can also purchase essential items like postage stamps, postcards, tampons, and batteries.

Program

No distractions and no excuse not to get down to writing. You are welcome if you want to focus on a project or something on your mind, be it artistic or more personal, provided you are happy to be silent in the mornings and make space for other guests. Write in a place that is calm, with only others like you, working away on their projects.

At Limnisa, the week unfolds with a gentle routine that is entirely optional. There is a set time for yoga and the evening meal, while breakfast and lunch are enjoyed at your leisure with extended buffet periods. You are welcome to dine out if you prefer. Limnisa also organizes literary evenings for those who wish to participate, but everything is at your own pace and nothing is mandatory.

  • Snorkeling and swimming in the clear, blue sea
  • Walking through olive groves and exploring the rugged landscape
  • Writing to the soothing sound of the sea
  • Shopping in Methana town
  • Relaxing in a hammock, gazing out at the sea
  • Picking a book from the library and reading in the shade
  • Visiting simple villages, climbing rocky crags, and immersing yourself in the tranquility of the surroundings

This retreat offers a perfect balance of solitude and community, allowing you to choose how you spend your days in this beautiful, serene setting.

Daily itinerary

Begin your day with an optional yoga class, followed by breakfast on one of the many terraces. The morning is reserved for quiet reflection and writing in silence. After lunch, you can dive back into your writing or take time for a swim, a walk, or simply relax. In the evenings, you have the choice to dine at a local taverna by the waterfront in a nearby village (one to three kilometers away) or take a cab to Methana town, just 10 kilometers along the corniche. Evening events at Limnisa offer the chance to share your work in a reading session or join a campfire on the beach.

Included excursions

  • Silent walk through olive groves nearby

Retreat location

Agios Georgios is a charming village, home to around 50 houses, three inviting tavernas, a mini-market, a quaint church, a peaceful harbor, and a beautiful beach. Nearby, Limnisa boasts its own secluded beach with crystal-clear waters, ideal for snorkeling.

The surrounding countryside is a stunning blend of rugged, mountainous terrain, where mule tracks meander through ancient olive groves. This unique and special location is perfect for creative souls - primarily writers, but also painters, and anyone seeking a tranquil space to reflect, re-evaluate, or simply enjoy the serenity of nature.
