Tropical, beautiful, and peaceful are just a few words that could describe Lumeria Maui. Yoga retreats come no more peaceful than this. The historic plantation buildings have been lovingly restored to the highest standards, ensuring that your every comfort is catered for.
Founded on the principles of yoga, Lumeria Maui offers three different spaces for practice and meditation. A Zen-inspired indoor yoga studio will inspire and rejuvenate you, a large hot yoga “barn” awaits you for morning practice, whilst outside an 8,000-square foot terrace offers peaceful surroundings to practice yoga in the warm Hawaiian breezes. Studios are fully equipped with every prop you could need including bolsters for our afternoon restoratives postures.
Your stay at Lumeria Maui will combine the traditional with the modern style. Beautifully designed Balinese furniture and fluffy pillows combine with artworks from local artists to make each room the perfect place to unwind and escape the warm Hawaiian sun.
This retreat will take place in Lumeria Maui Resort, Maui, Hawaii. Set in six acres of verdant tropical gardens on Maui’s north shore, the resort features stunning views of the island. It is also just a short distance from some of the best beaches Maui has to offer with renowned surfing spots and fabulous hiking trails.
In the morning, you will meet the instructor in the hot yoga studio for a strong alignment based Vinyasa yoga designed to awaken your core, energize and open your body, and invigorate you to absorb with full presence the vibrant natural beauty all around. Afterwards, you can take the rest of the day to get a massage or treatment onsite, lounge by the pool with a book, adventure to the beach, hike to the bamboo forest, take an epic drive north along the breathtaking road to Hana.
Then, you will meet you instructor again for a gentler practice focused on seated postures, hip openers, twists, forward folds, and restoratives to guide us into deep relaxation, equilibrium, and spaciousness. Afternoon practices will be sumptuously grounding. You will walk in to the studio and float out into the warm fragrant air to your evening meal.
One day will consist of a 135-minute inner fire flow practice, where you will rise early and go deep in the practice and allow time for integration, meditation, and grounding so that the entire afternoon is free (without the afternoon yoga practice) to explore longer treks and adventures on the island.
Please plan to arrive early afternoon on Monday, March 6 for your first yoga practice and dinner. At the end of the retreat, you'll leave after morning practice and breakfast on Saturday, March 11.

Lily Dwyer Begg has taught yoga since 2005 in California. A recent transplant, she has taught in yoga studios internationally, worked with an NBA basketball team, an NCAA diving team, professional dance companies, and therapeutically with private clients as well as creating the volunteer organization wOMen's yoga collective, which offers free weekly yoga classes to homeless women and children. She also organizes retreats in beautiful locations, workshops at the local shala, and more.
The menu is designed to feature wonderfully fresh and healthy options. The world-class menu is sourced from Lumeria Maui's own gardens and local organic farms. Dinner is served in a beautiful dining room with superb ocean views. There will be options to accommodate vegetarians and meat eaters alike.
