Escape the city and give yourself a weekend of Kundalini yoga with Lighthouse's owner, Jiwan Shakti Kaur (Julie Eisenberg)! The New Year is a perfect time to reflect on what you’d like to leave behind and how you’d like the next 12 months and beyond to manifest. Through Kundalini yoga, meditation and chanting, you’ll have an opportunity to find balance in your life and set your intentions for the New Year.

Accommodation

Blue Mountain Retreat Center shares 27 acres of property with Ehrhardt's Organic Farm, which has been selling high-quality, organic berries, vegetables, herbs, and flowers to restaurants, at farmer’s markets and through their CSA (community-supported agriculture) since 1981. On inclement days, you can cozy up to one of the fireplaces or connect with Blue Mountain's owner Beth Ehrhardt, a licensed massage therapist, for some relaxing body work.

Lighthouse Yoga Center Yoga Vacation USA Program

You will arrive on Friday, January 5, 2018, between 14:00 and 16:00 to settle in. During the weekend, the kriyas will be focused on awakening the chakras, cleansing the mind, and letting go of what you don’t want to carry into 2017.

You’ll then take some time to set intentions that you’ll take away with you, planting the seeds for prosperity, happiness, and health in the New Year. This retreat is open to all levels so no prior Kundalini yoga experience is required. Give yourself (and your sweetheart) a gift of yoga this new year.

Julie who holds ERYT-500 started practicing yoga in the mid-1990s as a way to decompress from a stressful job. Over the years, as her practice deepened and evolved, she began to understand yoga as a tool of personal transformation and empowerment. She is a Kundalini Level 2 teacher and professional teacher trainer with the Kundalini Research Institute (KRI), with advanced certifications in therapeutics and other modalities. Julie opened Lighthouse Yoga Center in 2013 in her home community of Petworth, D.C. as a way to share the teachings of yoga with the residents of her diverse neighborhood.

Location

Blue Mountain Retreat Center is convenient to both Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, Maryland. It is about 75 minutes driving time yet after you arrive and settle in, you feel like you have been transported to the midst of a forest. The secret is the 27 acres of mostly wooded land, just a mile downhill to the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers and the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal. The surrounding woods and water make for a peaceful winter getaway.

Beth prepares delicious, organic home-cooked meals, sourced from her farm as much as possible, to retreat participants. Vegan and gluten-free options are available.
