No surprise here - 'The Dairy Barn' is, in fact, an old dairy barn! You can see remnants of the building’s original purpose in its grandiose central living space with metal beams throughout. While the silo itself is gone, the circular perch where it once sat still exists on the property.

This house has everything you might need for your weekend away, including:

  • gorgeous, luxury accommodations for your restful sleep
  • bathrooms to accommodate your bubbliest bubble bath or a nourishing steam shower
  • indoor sauna (don’t forget your bathing suit)
  • outdoor pool (summer months only) and hot tub
  • window-lined yoga room
  • outdoor yoga platform for warmer months
  • lush outdoor space perfect for napping
  • central fireplace to cozy up next to with your favorite book or cup of tea
  • large common room to share time with your fellow retreat-goers
  • family-style dining, indoors and out
  • outdoor fire pit

During this retreat, you will be weaving this self-care and self-love theme into everything you do, from the yoga classes and meditations, to on-site massage, facials, and conversations about self-love and worthiness.

This retreat will give you the opportunity to take the time to reconnect with yourself - body, mind, and soul - and to face any limiting beliefs that keep you from feeling great about yourself day-to-day.

What to expect

  • Twice daily yoga classes (Vinyasa and Yin)
  • Three nourishing, plant-based meals a day plus snacks, beverages, and s’mores
  • Personalized one-on-one astrology and tarot session with the in-house astrologer
  • Time to connect with nature
  • Guided meditation
  • Free time to connect with yourself
  • An awesome community of like-minded people
  • Luxury accommodations
  • Welcome gift
  • Zero-waste practices in the kitchen and throughout
  • So much love and support from the Lazy Wellness Retreats team

Other highlights

  • Quiet hour every morning: no talking before your first practice - enjoy the peace and quiet of early morning all to yourself, sipping coffee, reading a book, or breathing in some fresh air.
  • No devices in common areas: it’s all too easy to pick up our phones when we feel a moment of stillness settling in. By keeping your devices in your bedrooms, it allows you to stay connected to loved ones back home while encouraging you to take this time for yourselves - to enjoy that stillness, dive into an engaging conversation with a fellow retreat-goer, and simply practice being present.
  • The Journal Jar: because Lazy Wellness Retreats believe that journaling is a powerful reflective practice, they equip you with all the tools you need to begin or continue your own journaling habit. The Journal Jar is a staple on every retreat, literally a jar full of journaling prompts to help get your mind and inquisitive juices flowing.
  • Activity zone and library: coloring books, pastel crayons, and magazines to flip through, they’ve got you covered on all the simple, creative, and mindful practices you might want to enjoy in your downtime. They even bring along a few of their favorite books, ranging in topic from self-development and empowerment to grief and bereavement, and a few fun fictions, if you just want to get lost in a story for the weekend.

Alex Sheppard

Retreat location

They take their food pretty seriously at the Lazy Wellness Retreats, which is why they have a rockstar in-house chef Alex Sheppard, who plans the menus according to season, theme, and any special needs of the group.

The menu is entirely plant-based, with the exception of the s’mores (vegan option available, but for your information, regular marshmallows are not vegan). While the team is not 100% vegan on a regular basis, they believe strongly in a plant-based diet as a way to energize, nourish, and reset the body, and their hope is that you’ll take away a few tips and tricks for incorporating more plants into your diet.
