Be healed and nurtured from within with Restorative yoga, a restful yoga for stressful time. Help yourself to focus and concentrate only on yourself and not the outside world and distractions, while relaxing in the tranquil setting of Lake Chapala, Mexico. Relax, restore, and escape from daily routine. Complete your stay by visiting the unique annual master crafts fair and relish the best Mexican culture.
During the retreat, you will be staying at Villa Eucaliptos, Lake Chapala, Ajijic, Mexico. It has five guest rooms, Guadalajara suite, Jacaranda suite, Huichol suite, Azteca suite, and Jalisco suite. Each room offers elegant and spacious furnished bedroom with a large private bathroom and walk-in closet, each with enchanting settings and individually decorated.

The focus of this retreat is “Kama”, pleasure in Sanskrit, which includes some of the unique foods of the area. That is the reason why the retreat will start one day earlier than usual in order to allow you to visit the organic market on Tuesday morning. You will meet Greg and Eddy that will prepare a special vegan meal for you on Friday. On Wednesday, you will be escorted to “tianguis”, an open-air local market, and be introduced to local favorite vendors and discoveries.
During the four first days of your retreat, you will relax and forget your daily cares, restore your aching body, be healed and nurtured from within with a series of Restorative or easy poses that will allow you to rest deeply and learn the art of living consciously. Complemented with lectures and meditation, the classes will take place at the Buddhist center nearby.
During free time, you will be able to walk to the village, take a well-deserved massage, or simply relax with a good book in the garden.
After the formal retreat, you will have one afternoon to explore the extraordinary craft fair, an annual event presenting the best handicrafts Mexico has to offer. Artisans are sponsored and come from all over the country bringing the best of their work for your enjoyment. The rich and original diversity of their creations will dazzle you. You will also have the opportunity to visit a nearby thermal spa, the famous place in the region.
Included in this program is a visit to the famous thermal spa in the region and a visit to local market tour and be introduced to local favorite vendors and discoveries.
Latika Pierrette Claude
Latika has studied yoga since 2006 and has attended countless workshops with Soya Yoga and at the Toronto Yoga Conference. For her, yoga has enriched and transformed her life in countless ways. She is so grateful to be able to share her learning with so many students. Her greatest joy is to see familiar faces returning year after year, even some of them becoming yoga teachers themselves.
The yoga classes will take place in a Buddhist center, Lake Chapala, Ajijic, Mexico, located two blocks away from Villa Eucaliptos, the place you will be staying at. Ajijic is a colonial village set on the northern shore of Lake Chapala in western Mexico's Sierra Madre Mountains. The village with its cobblestone streets, Spanish ironwork displayed in the houses and villas, and its donkeys that walk down the streets are what make Ajijic is a unique place.
