He trained at Bhaktivedanta Manor temple near London and then lived in the temple on Inish Rath Island for eight years. While in the temple, he studied Vedic philosophy from the ancient Sanskrit texts such as the Bhagavad Gita and the Bhagavat Purana, plus he learned kirtan-yoga and sacred chant music.

  • Carmen McEvitt

Carmen learned to cook her first recipes from her mother in Panama when she was only seven years old. Later, at 18, she learned how to cook delicacies and tasty dishes from India with the head monk at the Krishna temple, Hari Chakra Das. Carmen cooks for all the retreats at Mandala House. Carmen has a relaxed, laid-back, and cheerful way of sharing her cookery tips.

  • Frances McHugh

Frances McHugh is an expert Tai Chi teacher. She graduated from the Irish College of Traditional Chinese medicine in 1996, has a postgraduate training from the Nanjing Railway Hospital, and she also graduated in medical Qi-kong in 2009. Frances gives classes in therapeutic exercise and relaxation through Tai Chi. Her classes are suitable for practically anyone. She designed a way to do the exercises while sitting after an injury she had herself, although typically Tai Chi is meditation performed while walking and standing.

This retreat will be held at Mandala House near the shores of Upper Lough Erne, Ireland. Mandala House is located 400 meters across the water from Inish Rath Island. The Lakeland area is a peaceful sanctuary where you can enrich your body, mind, and soul. "I had such a lovely time, the retreat offered the space and relaxation I was looking for and the treatments, classes, walk and introduction to the Krishna community were all just the icing on the relaxation cake! Although the entire team contributed to very special memories for us all, above all, It was Tim's warm, welcoming and accepting nature that put us all at ease with ourselves and each other and it truly was a pleasure to spend time with everyone there. Stunning location, and a program designed with love and care at a great price, I'm so glad I went."

"I just wanted to thank you and Carmen so much for a fantastic weekend. I came back completely rejuvenated and energized. It was great from start to finish. As for the food, wow! I thought Id lose weight only eating vegetarian food for the weekend, but it good and we all went back for second helpings. Im still dreaming of Carmens chickpea stew. If the recipe isnt a state secret, Id really love to get it so my husband can finally taste what Ive been ravishing about! Again, thank you and all the community for a wonderful time. Namaste!"
