You will not find a more stunning place to stay and explore within the UK. Set in the very heart of the Lake District National Park, there is good reason why this magnificent location inspired the poet William Wordsworth to commit some of his most world-renowned poetry to paper. With the best wild swim spots, waterfall walks, lakes, caves, and dark skies.

These beautiful huts are nestled underneath the Fairfield horseshoe mountain range and Nab scar, so there is no need to drive anywhere for the finest mountain hikes. With Rydal Lake, a wild swimmer's hot spot, and waterfalls and plunge pools on site, it really is hard to beat!

Hut facilities:

  • All Kitchen/cooking utensils provided
  • Wood-burning stove and oven (with wood, newspaper, and kindling)
  • Fresh linen and duvets on the beds
  • Solar-powered lighting
  • Solar-powered, USB charging point

Program

Our retreat together has 2 Yoga day workshops including Pranayama Hatha and Vinyasa and Meditation and Nidra.

We start the day by meeting outside your shepherd's hut and travelling to the mountain forest yoga yurt. This is a stunning 20 minute walk up towards Alcock Tarn, where we enter into the forest by the top gate. After an emmersive time in the yurt you we feel fully reset.

Your afternoons are free for you to explore the lakes or rest up. You have the best lake and fell walks from your hut door, including thge Fairfield Horseshoe and Nab scar. Ambleside is a 20 minute walk through the grounds of Rydal Hall and is a hub of restaraunts, cafes, bars and cinemas. Set in the heart of the Lake District National Park by Rydal Lake, this destination truly is hard to beat!

A retreat is a time to move inwards and withdraw from that which does not serve you. A time to gather yourselves, let go, and create space for your bodies to thrive and your minds to be still in presence. The result is a sense of natural joy and well-being.

Yoga

The literal translation for the Sanskrit word 'yoga' is 'yoke'. To come to the center, the core of your being. Another way to look at it is the unification of mind and body as one interconnected whole or as the joining self with the natural state.

These retreats are aimed towards individuals, couples, or close friends who want time away to come back home to themselves and once again be 'moved by life.' You will be practicing in a stunning location to create more space both inside and out.

You do not need any previous yoga experience and equally, it is fine if you do. Fun is top of the list and hopefully going home with some new resources that benefit both body and mind. When you build a relationship with your own body, you are more available to build a healthy relationship with life.
