At Gaunts House, you will stay in shared or single room with shared bathroom. Shared en-suite rooms are available at 60 GBP extra cost while single en-suite rooms are available at 75 GBP extra cost.
This retreat attracts every level of practitioner. Ladan Soltani always has a mixture of people attending. She can cater for beginners to advanced. The style of yoga varies too as she has trained in quite a few disciplines, such as Sivananda (Hatha style) and Ashtanga. She really works with the feel of the group and meets the needs and requirements of her class participants in that moment, adapting with modifications or more challenging versions of the postures for those who want the option.
There will be morning yoga classes with more gentle evening sessions, followed by guided mindfulness meditation, pranayama (ancient yogic breathing techniques), and deep relaxation (yoga Nidra). You’ll start with a 2-hour yoga and meditation session on Friday night to ease you into the weekend, followed by dinner. Yoga will be held in the ballroom. In the classes, Ladan Soltani will be giving personal adjustments to correct postures and guiding you through the breath (pranayama) and meditation.
On New Year’s Eve, you’ll be doing a Manifesting Your Dreams NLP workshop in the evening, to set your inspirational goals for the year ahead. You’ll see the New Year's with a seated candle ceremony and celebrate with some bubbly afterwards, to keep those fireworks crackling within!
In this retreat, you will have an optional guided country walk.
Ladan is a yoga and meditation practitioner who facilitates her own classes, workshops, and retreats. She trained with Sivananda yoga in the Himalayas and Mysore style Ashtanga in San Francisco with Greenpath Yoga. Ladan’s classes have all been aired on various Sky fitness channels, she writes a blog on Huffington Post, and is a published author of Fabulous Fitness at 40 and has two DVDs. She loves teaching yoga as it has allowed her to become aligned with her true sense of purpose in life. She lives by the Eastern philosophy that yoga is about self-realization.
Gaunts House has the fortune of being situated on a heavenly estate of protected Dorset countryside totaling nearly 2000 acres. This estate has a four-acre lake as well as many acres of private woods which, in the spring, are full of life and carpeted with bluebells. The grounds are cared for in an environmentally friendly way and are open for all to indulge in the tranquility and enjoy country walks.
You will be served 3 daily organic vegetarian meals during your stay. Tea, coffee, biscuits, and fruit are also available anytime.
