La Casa de Loto is a meditation and yoga retreat center in the magical mountains of Guatapé in Colombia, founded and run by Karma Pema and his wife Maria. The experienced teachers and staff and the beautiful nature surroundings create the ideal conditions for you to turn inward, let go of stress, and to reconnect to the essence of life, where lasting happiness can be found.
“We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves.” — His Holiness The Dalai Lama
You will stay in one of the four clean and comfortable 2-bed shared cabins.
Here, they offer you daily meditation and yoga classes, freshly cooked organic food, clean and comfortable accommodations, and a variety of optional massages and treatments.
At the heart of all the programs are the Buddhist practices of Samatha and Vipassana meditation (calm abiding and gaining insight into your nature), pranayamas, and yoga asanas to relax and strengthen the mind and the body. To support your stay and cultivate more self-awareness, La Casa de Loto also implies a practice of noble silence from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. every day.
Each Friday, La Casa de Loto receives visitors from all over the world to attend their retreats and enjoy the restful and spiritual atmosphere of La Casa De Loto and its surroundings. Absolutely all who want to learn how to practice, or deepen their practice, are happily welcome to join La Casa de Loto.
Pema is a Buddhist meditation and yoga practitioner and teacher. He lost both of his parents early in his childhood which led him to a deep spiritual seeking. By 27, he gave away all of his belongings, dropped his professional music career, and went to study and live with various Lamas and yogis around the world, to find answers to his questions. He follows the non-sectarian Khyentse (Wisdom-Compassion) lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. Some of his most important teachers are H.H. The Dalai Lama, Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, and Mingyur Rinpoche.
