Elleke's journey in yoga and meditation began when she was a child. In her early teenage years, she spontaneously started to meditate, following an inner guideline of mystical experiences and set off on the path of yoga. Yoga and meditation became a way of life and a source of inner wisdom and love, from which sprang the aspiration to guide others on the way to their own source of love, joy, and inner wisdom.
For more than twenty-eight years now, she teaches the ancient form of Raja yoga and for over fifteen years she has been training yoga teachers aside from her other professional activities as a psychologist, naturopath, life coach, author of several books, and being a mother of four children. With love, she continues to teach in her passion for yoga and meditation, explaining and exploring its classical philosophy and practicing the yoga way of life at La Borde Blanque.
Together with her husband Pieter, Elleke started La Borde Blanque, a yoga, meditation, and healing center in Midi-Pyrenees, France. There, they realize their dream and share their life and work experience in a holistic way, within the power, serenity, and beauty of nature.
This retreat will take place in Midi-Pyrenees, France. The area has a long and moving history. Amongst other things, you will find prehistoric caves with carvings and stalactites and stalagmites. Apart from that, the Celts also left their traces, as well as the Romans with their thermal baths.
La Borde Blanque is an authentic French country estate situated on the crest of a hill with a magnificent view over the Pyrenees and surrounding countryside. The location offers various opportunities to be together as well as to withdraw for some private space, both indoors and outdoors.
It has a private lakeside beach on the beautiful Lac de Montbel and is on the other sides defined by forest and the river Hers.
The property has a natural spring and bathes in the peace and serenity of the French countryside. You’ll find them on the border of the Aude and Ariège departments.

It is a well worth visit to one of the old Cathar castles, like the mysterious Montsegur. The lake offers many opportunities, in addition to swimming, like sailing, surfing, canoeing, water biking as well as fishing. In the nearby area you can go rafting, wild water canoeing, ultralight flying, and hang-gliding. Of course, there are excellent trips to be made on horseback, or you may go tracking into the Pyrenees on a mule.
You can also visit the waterfalls of Roquefort le cascade which is often dry in summertime, yet it remains a place for elves and kobolds. At different days there are colourful local markets, like for example on Sunday in Esperaza, Monday in Mirepoix and Friday in Lavelanet and Foix.

"I’ve been in La Borde Blanque in September for a Yoga Retreat, and I liked it very much, the location, the surroundings, the people and the yoga sessions! Just the transfer to the place isn’t so easy, but Elleke and Peter do their best to find a solution for every single person."
