Michael began his yoga journey at the age of 20 when he left his profession as a studio musician and joined a Bhakti yoga monastery. For the next 10 years, he traveled Australia, New Zealand, and India as a celibate monk, daily studying the traditional yogic canons and engaging in strict daily yogic sadhana. Then, after another six years as a traditional Vedic (Hindu) priest, he took an interest in the more physical aspects of yoga. He successfully completed a three-year diploma course with Satyananda Yoga before finally finding his passion with Power Vinyasa.
He is a philosophy teacher, a teacher by noon, and a rapper by night. At 17, he was noticed by Young Entrepreneur after joint-founding a company that personalized gifts in Greater London, which went on to win a Future100 award for ethical and environmentally-friendly business. Having been to India 7 times over the past 5 years to study and explore the secrets of the Indian wisdom texts like Bhagavad-Gita, he was invited to teach philosophy and host interactive life seminars in universities and institutions in the UK, Belgium, Netherlands, Nigeria, India, Australia, and New Zealand since 2010.
Nestled in the foothills of Mount Warning, in the heart of the Northern Rivers of New South Wales, the Krishna Farm, New Govardhana, is a 1,000 acre certified organic property built around one of Australia's most beautiful Hare Krishna temples. The tranquil, spiritual setting comprises orchards, veggie gardens, cows, horses, streams, and swimming holes in abundance.
The Krishna Village is located half way between Byron Bay and the Gold Coast, about 30 minutes inland from the Pacific Highway. The closest town is Murwillumbah, where several bus services stop on their way to and from Byron Bay, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

The Krishna Farm has been producing organic veggies since the 1980s and has therefore fantastic conditions to grow excellent produce. They grow as much of their own food as they can, and otherwise buy locally wherever possible.
The team provides 3 delicious vegetarian meals every day, with lunches taking place at the Krishna Village community kitchen, and breakfast and dinners - mostly Indian style - served at the prasadam hall, next to the temple.
All their food is prasadam - sacred food prepared in a consciousness of loving service. Like in other cultures, they offer their food before they eat to say Grace and thank the Divine for the sun, the rain, and all the visible and invisible blessings necessary to co-create a delicious meal. Feel free to sing along, or just listen and enjoy.
At the Krishna Village, we are all about balancing body, mind, and soul. So the massages available do exactly this: induce deep relaxation and allow you to get back in touch with yourself. We have a variety of practitioners, and you can book sessions with them upon arrival.
