Kranti Yoga is pleased to offer a fusion of yoga and beach culture in South Goa, India. We offer a comprehensive Yoga Alliance approved 300 hr YTTC in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, Adjustments and Myofascial Release directly on Patnem Beach. The program runs over 4 weeks in conjunction with a distance learning component and reading for you to have completed before you arrive at the village. The program is an intensive course that is presented with a progressive approach to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and Myofascial Release. Fascia is the largest and most sensitive structure in the body. It provides structure and movement. When we think of movement, we generally think of the muscular and skeletal systems with little awareness of the elastic web of the myofascia that facilitates the movement. If this fascia is tight, movement is limited, preventing access to some postures. Myofascial Release can therefore improve strength and flexibility needed for Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. And so, we are pleased to introduce this 300 hr YTTC. The course provides a holistic approach, both physical and spiritual, to the traditional practice of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga with the contemporary addition of this release technique.

After traveling the world extensively, Kranti has developed his Shala to combine location with the ultimate Yogi comfort. The village is situated right on Patnem Beach, you’ll walk right out our back gate and be metres from the sea. You get to soak up the amazing views and calming sea breeze during your practice whether sunrise, sunset or during the day. It has become a tradition to appreciate your surroundings with sunset walks, meditation and acro-yoga with your new friends. The Kranti Village is a 5000-sq metres property that has access to both the beach and the roadside. Conveniently spread across 2 beautiful campuses; Moksha is the Oceanview campus and Sattva is our tranquil Garden campus. The spacious deluxe cottages are available exclusively for guests of our school. Our options range from 4-Share Garden Cottages right through to luxurious Beachfront cottages. Choose to fall asleep with the sound of crashing waves and a light sea breeze or sleep nestled amongst the lush greenery of cashew, coconut and mango trees. Our cottages are purpose built for your comfort so that you can relax and focus on your learning and development. Cottages are around 28 square metres and have their own porch, hammock, desk and swinging chair. Comfortable mattresses, space to lock your valuables, mosquito nets and western style toilet and shower make up some of the indoor features. During peak times, we use a sister campus located next door on Patnem Beach. The accommodation is of a similar standard and is approx. 15 meters from the gate.


In order to participate on this course you must have already completed a 200 hr YTTC either at Kranti Yoga or another Yoga Alliance recognized school. If your 200 hr certification is not Ashtanga Vinyasa Flow, it is advisable that you have an awareness of the Primary Series and have some insight into this branch of yoga.

Course objectives

  • Teach Ashtanga Yoga (up to Navasana and Closing Sequence)
  • Assist/adjust in Self-Practice Ashtanga Yoga classes.
  • Further your knowledge about the Skeletal, Muscular and Respiratory Systems and apply them to your practice and classes.
  • Deepen your physical and spiritual practice through asanas, pranayama, meditation, kriyas, mantras and mudras.
  • Gain insight into Yoga Philosophy from texts including Bhagavad Gita and Patanjalis Sutras, integrating them into your practice.
  • Mentor students from 200 hr YTTC and be a Teaching Assistant to the Senior Teachers.

Anatomy of Alignment Classes

These will allow you to gain a deeper insight into The Primary Series by looking in detail at the body mechanics throughout. A revision of the Skeletal and Muscular System will allow you to become mindful of what is happening in the body during your practice. A familiarity with Active Release is an important part of being an effective Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher. This can only be achieved with a sound understanding of what happens in each and every posture, anatomically. During these classes, you will also focus on how to modify practice for students with weak areas whether due to a lack of strength or flexibility. By looking at different body shapes, sizes and abilities, you will learn how to identify such weaknesses and be able to give preparation techniques to promote improvements.

Teaching Methodology

The Teaching Methodology Program will guide you towards teaching the Primary Series in terms of how to give clear instructions and reminders along with how to keep the necessary pace of Ashtanga Yoga. This part of the program runs closely with Anatomy of Alignment Classes as you will be encouraged to provide technical anatomical information to your students. The correct alignment of the postures will naturally be incorporated into your teaching. Each week, you will teach a section of the Primary Series, teaching a little more each week. Firstly, you will teach your peers and then progress to teach your own class to our Drop In students who will be of mixed abilities.

We have three teaching spaces (shalas) within The Yoga Village and so have the facilities to allow you to develop as a teacher. Drop In Classes are solely to allow our teachers to gain the valuable experience of dealing with the wide range of yoga students that you can be faced with. Learning to instruct, demonstrate, motivate, be inclusive and adapt to individual needs of your students is an integral part of the course. This can only be developed by delivering your own classes and getting constructive feedback. This part of the course can be particularly rewarding to you in terms of raising your profile as a yoga teacher, internationally.


Adjustments are a key feature of Ashtanga Yoga as they allow you to gain further insight into the postures through application of gentle pressure to deepen the stretch. Adjustments can only be learnt through practice. We offer a hands on approach that starts with practicing on your peers, moving onto assisting our main teachers on the 200 hr YTTC. Practice takes place each morning and so many opportunities are there for you maximise your potential in this area. We believe this part of our course in unique in terms of the volume of students we have for you to exploit. Each week you will be given specific adjustments to work on and these will be carried out under the close supervision of your teacher. In order for you to assist/adjust in these classes, you must first demonstrate that you can adjust confidently by means of a small assessment. This will be completed in the third week of your training.

Ashtanga Yoga Practice

Depending on your familiarity of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, a personal plan will be devised to further your practice. If you are new to Ashtanga, this will be supported through extra classes if necessary. Otherwise, you will continue to practice Primary Series and will have both Led Ashtanga Yoga Classes along with Self-Practice classes. If appropriate, you will also be introduced to some asanas of The Second Series. Each week, your teacher will give you a focus to work towards in order to advance your practice. Technical Workshops in the afternoons will continue to develop your techniques in Hip Opening, Jump Back, Transitions, Backbending and Arm Balancing. These workshops are particularly rewarding in terms of measuring the visible progress that you have made. Not only will you develop your own practice in all of these sessions, you will without doubt pick up helpful ideas to take with you to develop your own students in these areas.


Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, the breath initiates the movement from posture to posture. It is impossible to progress through the series without being familiar with the rhythm of your own breath as your focus is dependent on it to achieve sense withdrawal. You will review the 4 pranayama techniques covered on the 200 hr YTTC along with several more that will help you to lengthen your breath, increase your lung capacity and strengthen the nervous system. This is an important aspect of yoga that is often overlooked as asana practice takes precedence. Pranayama is a great way to alleviate stress and tension, something that is often endured in modern society. Pranayama practice will allow you to build mental and emotional strength to help you maintain a healthy sense of wellbeing, not just on the YTTC but in your everyday daily life.

Tutorials will explain the theory accompanying these breathing techniques enabling you to further develop your own personal practice. You will also include Pranayama when teaching.

Kriyas and Mudras

Cleansing will clear the system and allow the breath to flow freely. You will learn and practice all 6 cleansing techniques (shatkarma) on your course. Mudras will allow you to seal energy within the body. Again, tutorials will support the practice of all of these.

Yoga Philosophy

Classical Yoga Philosophy is interwoven throughout the program, drawing on Vedic and Tantric beliefs. You will study influential texts including The Bhagavad Gita and Patanjalis Yoga Sutras with tutorials designed to promote discussion and debate around these philosophies. You will be encouraged to incorporate key messages from these texts into your daily practice in order that your practice is supported spiritually. It is our aim that your spiritual development is just as important as your physical development. This, along with Yogic Lifestyle studies, encourages you to question and challenge your own lifestyle choices in order to improve your overall sense of wellbeing.

Teaching Assistant Program

A unique feature of our course is that you will act as a Teaching Assistant on the course. As previously mentioned, you will support morning practice in order to align and adjust students and so it is important that you develop a rapport with them. Students will be allocated for you to mentor on a one to one basis. You will be expected to devise personal plans for them with preparation advice for problem postures due to a lack of flexibility or strength. This is an ideal opportunity for you to demonstrate correct alignment that will have learnt with us. All this is closely supervised by your Lead Teacher. The program is always warmly received by both parties in terms of advancing the practice of the mentee and developing the teaching/communication skills of the mentor.

Classes are conducted from Monday to Friday (all day) and Saturday (until 6pm). Evening events: Mantra Chanting (once a week), Moonlight meditation, Candlelight meditation and the night screening of Yoga documentaries (twice a week).

Tarun Agrawal

Tarun Agrawal’s Yogic path began by following a family tradition, he started to frequent a guru named Sant Chanababa at the early age of 9 for meditation and yogic spiritual talks known as Satsang. Chanababa was an old Tantra master living in a temple located on Shakti Mountain who gave Tarun his spiritual name, "Kranti", which means "revolution". These early years of his life were the beginning of his spiritual journey. In 2007, Kranti started his own yoga shala (school) in Goa and has since been teaching Ashtanga yoga and Vinyasa Flow. Kranti was certified by Yoga Alliance in 2010, the same year he started travelling throughout Europe teaching workshops. In Goa, he share his knowledge with yoga students from all over the world in yoga teacher training courses, intensive yoga courses and yoga retreats. His once simple shala has evolved into a diverse yoga community on Patnem Beach. Tarun continues to share his knowledge of yoga through his team. He is proud to have developed many of his former students to become yoga teachers in order to support the learning journey that is offered through a variety of programs through Kranti Yoga. Kranti strongly believes in promoting the spiritual side of yoga to support the physical. This is evident from the curriculum that he has developed over the years and more importantly from the teachers that he has nurtured to teach it.

Amelia Valls Ferrando originates from Catalonia, Spain. She completed her 500-hour yoga teacher training with Kranti Yoga in 2014 as part of her final thesis for a Masters in Sports and Physical exercise Sciences. Although she came with more than 10 years of physical movement, fitness and personal training experience, she was new to yoga. Luckily for us, she came with a passion to help people develop a healthy lifestyle through their yoga practice. After graduating with her Masters, she was quickly able to apply her extensive anatomical knowledge and understanding to the Ashtanga yoga practice and now specialises in this area. Amelia helps students on a daily basis overcome the range of obstacles (physical and mental) that they may face during their practice. For Amelia, Ashtanga yoga is way of life and a pathway to support overall wellbeing. It not only comes with a range of health benefits for the physical body, but also for the mind and spirit. She has embraced and overcome many practice-related challenges and is always in search of new knowledge. Her patience and understanding of the ranges of movement within the physical body and her ability to adapt postures to suit each student is a credit to her hard work. Amelia teaches anatomy and alignment of the primary series, anatomical workshops, Adjustment workshops, Strength and Release classes, technical workshops and technical flow classes. Amelia’s enthusiasm and passion for her teaching subjects is incredibly inspiring and she is always ready to share her expertise with everyone.

Morwenna Truscott

Morwenna Truscott discovered Ashtanga yoga whilst training as a dancer in London. It became a part of her daily life, developing alongside her career as a dancer, choreographer, dance teacher and eventually took over altogether. Morwenna is also a firm believer in the benefits of the traditional practice of the 8 limbs of Ashtanga yoga. She believes that through repetition, routine and inquiry you are able to gain insight into your physical and mental patterns and are able to become more mindful of your thoughts and actions on and off the mat. During her training at Kranti Yoga, Morwenna was introduced to Ayurveda, which has now become an important influence on her life, especially Ayurvedic diet and nutrition. She believes yoga and Ayurveda together form a complete approach for optimal health, vitality and higher awareness that can lead to greater transformation in your practice, your health and your awareness of others. Just like yoga, it is a lifelong learning process that is only improved through practice and experience. After completing her training at Kranti Yoga she has been lucky enough to take classes with David Swenson, Sharath Jois, Shiva Rea and Meghan Currie. Teachers, yoga and people of all kinds continue to inspire and fuel the development of her practice and exploration of yoga. Following the words of Yogi Bhajan, Morwenna believes that to be happy in life you must do two things every day; sweat and laugh. Morwenna teaches Ashtanga yoga primary series led and self-practice classes, anatomy and alignment, Technical Flow, Yin and Introduction to Ayurveda.

Anna Smullen

Anna Smullen began her Ashtanga Yoga journey 8 years ago with Hamish Hendry whilst working as a Performing Arts Teacher in London. Yoga evoked a sense of calm in Anna and began to help relieve some of the stress she felt from working in inner city education. Anna first came to Kranti in October 2014 to marry her love of teaching and love of Yoga into something she could share with everyone. At the completion of her course, Anna began a teaching job in South Goa and when she returned home continued to develop her own personal practice with teachers who have included Sarai Harvey Smith, Tania Bond, Netta Imber, Norman Blair and Adelene Cheong. She returned in October 2015 to undertake a further 100hours plus of training and took the reins as the Teaching Methodology lead training for the 200hours TTC. Anna uses her almost 20 years experience as a performing arts teacher to care for, guide and accompany each student on their journey from practitioner to teacher. She is patient, understanding and encourages the creativity in each of her students. Anna’s classes cultivate learning and possibility, creativity and perseverance and she provides an environment where students can not only flourish but realise their full teaching potential with confidence. Anna also teaches Ashtanga primary led, Vinyasa Flow, Pranayama and Yoga Nidra. She loves the physical, mental and spiritual strength she has found through her practice but knows the journey has only really just begun

Beatrix Ayotte

Beatrix Ayotte was born and raised in Montreal, Canada and she is deeply passionate about life and adventure. She first focused on pushing her physical boundaries through various trekking trips and outdoor activities, but it was the discovery of yoga at the age of 17 that brought her to explore her inner limits on a deeper level. The practice of yoga helps her to challenge herself daily: mentally, physically and spiritually. No matter what life throws her way, yoga helps her remain grounded and live the present moment to the fullest. The desire to deepen her practice brought her to Kranti Yoga. With a passion for Vinyasa Flow, the traditional Ashtanga Yoga helped her gain a deeper knowledge of technique and a better understanding of the human body. Since graduating, she quit her degree in Fashion design to successfully pursue a daily practice and full time teaching of both Adults and Children. Beatrix has been teaching various styles of yoga including Yin Yoga, Hatha, Ashtanga Yoga and Vinyasa Flow. Having fallen in love with the traditional eastern yoga philosophy and the western creative yoga sequences, she has created her classes to inspire and rejuvenate. Yoga is a lifestyle and a life-long acquiring of knowledge. Keeping an open and curious mind is what has helped her to share it with love and compassion. Beatrice teaches Anatomy and Alignment, Pranayama, Ashtanga led classes, Teaching Methodology, Technical flow and Yin.

Grace Farmer

Grace Farmer stumbled across Yoga whilst living in Oxford 6 years ago and a regular practice quickly became a part of her daily lifestyle, using it as a tool for recovering from a long standing shoulder injury. Previously, Grace had been fuelling her lifelong love of dance and movement by juggling part time Barre Concept teaching with a full time job, until she finally took the plunge and ditched the busy London corporate life in pursuit of more Yoga. She completed her 200 hour YTTC with Kranti Yoga following by a further 100hours, where she reignited her enthusiasm for movement, bodywork and sharing her passionate teaching approach with all. She has been exploring the world and teaching Yoga full time ever since and has never looked back! Grace loves how Yoga makes the world a smaller and more connected place and also enjoys exploring how Eastern and Yogic philosophy can help to heal and rebalance us. Cultivating and nurturing an awareness of our mind, body and soul is one of the many reasons why Grace continues to seek and learn as much as she can on the topic of Yoga; teaching at Kranti allows her to continually share and develop her knowledge and experience of all 8 limbs of Ashtanga Yoga. Kranti Yoga is located in the magical Patnem Beach, South Goa. Unlike other parts of Goa Patnem Beach has retained its peacefulness and natural charm despite growing numbers of tourists to the area. The closest airport is Dabolim (Goa) Airport and the journey to us is just over an hour.

Patnem beach itself is lined with bars, restaurants and beach hut accommodations. The hospitality of the Patnem locals awaits you. Choose from the many dining options that offer international cuisine from all corners of the globe, as well as traditional Goan Curries, seafood specialties and the popular Vegan delights. It is ideal for those who enjoy harmony between beach life, yoga and relaxed dinners with friends. It is definitely a tradition to watch the phenomenal sunsets on the beach during your yoga teacher training, yogis regularly walk and run this beach and participate in lighthearted acro-yoga during the downing of the sun.

If you are looking for some evening entertainment, you are not far away from the tourist hub of Palolem. Here you will find more night-time activities, sometimes a welcome alternative to the quietness and early nights of Patnem. Palolem is only 5 minutes away from the shala and can be reached by rickshaw. Alternatively, 5 minutes in the other direction you will find the fabulous local location of Chaudi. Here you will find a more traditional Indian experience with local fresh food and seafood markets, chai stands, supermarket, pharmacy etc.

In the shala, you will be served all meals throughout the day (breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner) 7 days a week. (Students often choose to eat out on Sunday as a treat for their day off). There are also snacks, fruits, fresh juices, coconuts, Ayurvedic teas, Herbal and Chai teas and purified water available. All meals are served buffet-style in our outdoor dining hall giving you a range of options for you to choose from. Kranti Yoga promotes a healthy diet and the foods served are freshly prepared for you daily. Kranti considers proper nutrition to be a very important part of your time during the teacher training and we do our best to combine a Sattvic diet with some western elements for your body to be well fueled. We have an Indian kitchen on site with wonderful cooks, who will delight you a large array of Traditional Indian specialties. The kitchen is at your service and ready to accommodate all your dietary requirements, whatever they may be. The meals are strictly vegetarian and the kitchen is easily able to cater for vegan, lactose intolerant, gluten free and other diets. If there is something you need or crave, they will always try to help. If you miss a meal, the cooks will always rustle something up for you. There is never a need to be hungry. All food is sourced locally and the menu will consist of seasonal fruit and vegetables. Local produce is organically grown and bought on a daily basis. The groceries are bought from nearby markets and stores in order to support the local community.

Outside of the Shala, you will find a range of restaurants and cafes serving a host of tasty and healthy choices. You can choose from traditional Indian dishes or pick from a rich international menu that is widely available in most restaurants. The food in Patnem and neighboring Palolem is some of the finest cuisine on offer in Goa. Patnem is renowned for a high standard of hygiene.

    "It's hard to know what you're going to get when you book something like this sight unseen. I started off my month in Patnem at a yoga school that had great reviews, but as soon as I arrived I knew I was at the wrong place. Several days after I arrived, I found myself walking at the beach and wandered into Kranti Yoga, and I immediately knew this was where I needed to be. They worked with me privately to get my caught up on what I'd missed during the first two days, and by the end of the week I had fallen completely in love with Kranti Yoga. My first school told me it wasn't possible to have both a successful teacher training course and a beach holiday, but Kranti Yoga proved that wrong. The classes are paced and designed so well that it's like a well-oiled machine. Everything you learn feeds into everything you practice and the whole course continues to build on itself. I never felt like I sacrificed a moment of practice or knowledge but what impressed me was that because it's located on the beach, I could spend an hour swimming or reading on one of the many lounge chairs reserved for Kranti Yoga students for at least an hour every day after lunch. Although often that time was spent studying, it also felt like a beach holiday. This isn't something you can do at any of the other yoga schools in the area. I felt like I truly got it all by choosing Kranti Yoga. Also worth noting, the teachers are as charming as they come! I adored them all. And the food is great too!"

    "I stayed at kranti yoga village during March/April. It is difficult to summarise my entire experience, as it was completely transformative of my mind, body, and soul. The shala was a magical place of total serenity and peace, a complete little haven where I felt transported from all cares and stresses of everyday life into a world of blessedness, peacefulness, and tranquility. At night the shala became an enchanted dreamlike sanctuary as it twinkled with fairy lights and incense, which captivated my heart and soul. As the sun rose we all stood side by side on the shala overlooking the ocean, with dolphins dancing in the sea ahead of us, ready for our early morning practice listening to the angelic voice of one of our awe-inspiring yoga instructors as she chanted the rhythmic sound of our opening mantra. The stillness, calmness, and union, which resonated within us all was spellbinding and the spiritual connection and harmony amongst us all was an experience that will live in my heart forever. Kranti has a magical gift of showing us what Yoga really means and expressing that love and union which is truly magnetic and mesmerising. This is an entrancing place where your emotions and spirit are awakened to reveal that deep inner connection with yoga, your breath, your heart, & your soul. This is when my true deep understanding of yoga began and the time I entirely submitted myself to this sacred practice. Words cannot explain what I felt; it was the most profound spiritual experience. The teachers at the kranti yoga village are second to none. Their expertise, guidance, and level of teaching were absolutely amazing. They're instructions were extremely clear, informative and inspiring. During our primary series practice the wonderful teachers offered us helpful and enlightening adjustments, which really enhanced and developed our postures. They gave us all constant care and attention and really had the ability to build our confidence and self-belief. They treated us like we were all part of their family and were always there to talk to and offer us advice, assistance, and support. They created the anatomy, alignment, and teaching philosophy classes with enjoyment and fun, which made it so pleasurable and gratifying to understand and learn. The chaturanga, back bending and hip opening workshops, were extremely informative and offered an incredible insight into the asanas and how to really benefit and learn the ability of our bodies. It was astounding to see the progressive development in our individual practice after the direction and guidance from such an inspirational teachers. All the teachers at Kranti are absolutely incredible and my yoga practice has advanced to a whole new level and understanding, which I will be forever grateful to them all for. You really do leave here with such knowledge and depth of understanding that prepares you to teach Ashtanga Yoga with confidence and expertise. The food was exceptional and delicious which will delight all your senses keeping you fully nourished, sustained, and fulfilled with occasional surprise treats, which were mouthwateringly delicious. I particularly loved the ambiance around the meal times where we all gathered together in harmony either on the gorgeous, stunning colourful swings or around the table sharing stories with love and laughter. I have never experienced such togetherness totally void from any judgments or separation. There was a community spirit in Kranti, which was so inspiring, and intoxicating that has changed my life forever. My overall experience was utterly miraculous and mind-blowing which will live within my heart for the rest of my days. I can't wait to return here to this beautiful, charismatic sanctuary of love, peace and serenity."

    "Just back from a 10-day Yoga Intensive week at Kranti, and I only wished I could've stayed longer! Amazing setting with a full itinerary of Ashtanga yoga. I was a little apprehensive at first coming from mainly an Iyengar Yoga background, but the quality of the yoga teachers and training provided made things so much easier! I loved the full daily schedule, with a particular highlight being the alignment classes with Beatrix (B) and resident Karma yogini Grace. They were full of energy and excellent sources of information. The tuition they provided really enabled me to improve my technique and get the most from my practice. I loved all of the classes that were on offer- with different teachers offering various styles of Vinyasa Flow. Every teacher I had over the course of the programme was excellent: Beatrix, Grace, Payal and Anna. They were so inclusive- inviting me along to a few of the teacher training classes and workshops. A particular highlight was the Candlelight Meditation facilitated by Kranti which was absolutely lovely. I didn't come with a lot of past meditation experience, but it has really inspired me to explore this practice now that I am back in the UK. Overall, there is nothing I would change about the whole course. Great food, fantastic location, safe and secure setting and wonderful people! I hope to visit Kranti again in the future."

    "Spent one week on the yoga holiday and was lucky enough to join in on some of the teacher training Ashtanga classes (although I hear this is very rare!) It really is a very special place built for relaxing with a private beach spot with loungers just for guests, hammocks and beds everywhere and you can't fault the huts themselves - they are lovely. It's not the most private set out though (perhaps a bit cramped) as most hut entrances open straight out onto the yoga platforms! The yoga teaching is of the highest quality and the drop in classes are really varied depending on how the instructor feels on the day - sometimes relaxing, sometimes challenging. The food is AMAZING (if a bit repetitive) and it's a great balance of traditional yet gentle for Western bellies. Kranti is a real character and lots of fun. It does feel a bit cut off from the real world/India but if you're looking for somewhere safe, to concentrate on your yoga, to make friends and ease into India this is the place!"

    "I had such a good experience overall - the teachers are excellent, the environment is beautiful, good vibes all around, the food is delicious. I really felt like I was able to develop my own personal practice in a healthy, supportive setting. The course itself is very well-structured and definitely exceeded my expectations. I'm very happy with my choice to do teacher training in India, at Kranti yoga. For those looking to do the October course, be aware that this is the end of monsoon season and when I arrived, the yoga campus was not finished (the ocean front houses and shala were not yet complete, however to be fair, construction was quite quick). They set everyone up with accommodations, but it was just not what many of us were expecting, so if you want to arrive to a fully ready campus, November is a good month to go! I loved all the teachers (Morwenna, Julia and Amelia are all very talented and skilled instructors)."

    "I recently completed my 200hr teachers training course with Kranti Yoga and found it to be an overall very positive experience. Firstly the teaching staff were fabulous - I cannot say enough good things about them. Julia, Morwenna and Amelia were patient and inspiring, and gave us a holistic understanding of Ashtanga yoga. The 'karma yogis' were also amazing and supportive throughout the three and a half weeks. I left feeling confident to teach an Ashtanga based class and made some great friends during my time there. Oh and I have to mention the food - sooo good! Well done to all the cooks - you will not go hungry!One thing I will say is that the accommodation and venue was not ready when we arrived for about the first 2 weeks. This really put a damper on things as it was quite a shock to arrive to that and I didn't feel as though our disappointment was taken very seriously. Once the work was complete the shala was lovely and felt like a home away from home. Regardless to this aspect I had an amazing experience and would recommend this place to anyone looking to become a yoga teacher or just to improve their practice. I will certainly be back if I have the chance! Love to all the staff xxx"

    "Kranti Yoga is where I completed my 200 hours teacher training in October 2015, a life time experience that I will never forget in my life, a decision that I will never regret. And I would definitely go back for 300 hours! Thanks to the amazing teachers and the very organized schedule, i was able to know the primary series by heart.I learnt a lot, not only on the physical aspect but on the emotional, spiritual and psychological too. There you will find your inner peace and positive energy surrounding the place with the beautiful smiles and amazing hospitality. Passionate and generous teachers, giving their all to help their students get the best of the course. We learnt about Pranayama, Kriyas , philosophy, alignment and anatomy. We had different workshops, best of all is with Kranti. 24 hours security, yet the accommodation is not as luxurious as I expected, but Kranti made his best to make us feel comfortable. And as Kranti said, "We are in the jungle, it's the home of all living souls" :)The food is outstanding, you won't ever feel hungry, 3 meals served plus a snack and lots of CAKE! Also the kitchen is open 24 hours whenever you feel extra hungry after all this food! Best mattress I've ever slept on! I was seriously thinking of taking one with me back home. The location itself was incredible, the beach, the surrounding nature, many places and restaurants to hangout on the beach. You could find everything in the shops there, literally everything, so don't bother yourself to buy food or anything from home because you will find it there."

    "My boyfriend and I completed the 200 hours course in April and it was a great decision!The setting is beautiful, as is the Shala and accommodation. We really could not fault the teaching and curriculum. Julia and Morwenna were delightful - really great teachers and made every class fun! My boyfriend thought there was too much Sanskrit to learn but he got it in the end.It was such an amazing experience, in an incredible setting and worth every penny! Great to be surrounded by a lovely group of students too.I couldn't recommend more!"

    "I spent one month here attending a 200hrs teaching class - and I loved it! It's been 8 month and I miss this place so much thats why I will be going back there in November and doing my 300 hours class. For me, it is a magical place full of love and great energy: teacher that believe in you and encourage you to go deeper into your practice, super friendly staff, awesome food, beautiful & colorful huts, breathtaking sunsets at the beach! And most importantly: I met so many great people there that I will never forget! Cant wait to come back soon!"

    "I've travelled all over India and I've had the best and the worst accommodations on my travels and Kranti yoga is definitely one of the best places to learn yoga! The teachers are so amazing the yoga shala is filled with so much positivity that it feels so much like a home that you won't want to leave. The yoga philosophy teacher is such a positive person that makes you look at things in such a different light and he is a character that I will never forget and am grateful to have meet on my spiritual journey!The people I have met at Kranti have become my lifelong friends and I am so grateful to have such a strong and positive bond with them. ! On top of everything the food is to die for!! The best vegetation meals and deserts I've had! YUMM! I am honestly so excited to go back to Kranti this year and to meet so many new people and to deepen my knowledge of yoga! Hope to see anyone who's reading this there :)"

    "I completed my 200hr YTTC at Kranti Yoga Village in March 2015 and it was the best decision Ive made. I chose Kranti because I wanted to learn in a comfortable and safe environment and it certainly lived up to all my expectations.The food was healthy and delicious, the bed was comfortable, the course had a good mix of skilled Indian and Western teachers, each with good levels of experience and knowledge that easily translated in a way that I could digest and put into practice.The village itself was in a sublime setting, right on one of the best beaches in Goa, providing magical sunsets and all the comforts of home. All the staff were warm and friendly and always available to talk to.We did a lot of yoga, which pushed me physically to my limits, but it was in a fun and supportive environment which made it so much more enjoyable and what I learnt helped me so much in my own practice and gave me the skills and confidence to teach.I took my family and the staff were more than accommodating towards them, and even went as far as including them in everything that took place during my training, which they really felt a part of.Im so glad I chose to do my training at Kranti Yoga Village and I cant wait to go back!"

    "Kranti Yoga is one of those places that will bless you with memories and lessons you could hold with you for a lifetime. I went there at a time I needed solace and self-exploration about as much as I could have hoped for the best kind of guidance and to be surrounded by teachers who possessed a wealth of knowledge and a passion for teaching and sharing it.I had been studying meditation for about nine years, had attended ten day Vipassana courses and was certified to teach Ashtanga Yoga to children and young adults before I came to Kranti Yoga to learn the Vinyasa form of Ashtanga. I also had been teaching language and acting since 2006 and had my fair share of experience as a teacher who was always passionate herself about what she did. Coming to this shala not only reinforced that very innate and natural drive inside of me to teach, it opened up a whole new world where I was making new discoveries about myself and my surroundings, my relationships with people and most importantly, my relationship with life every single day.There is a magical like quality about this school that keeps you intensely dedicated to your study and also allows you the freedom to have fun with it, explore new possibilities and gives you the courage to dive right in. In short, the folks at Kranti guide you in a manner that is appropriate, disciplined and assertive the entire time you are in the shala doing your practice. They are fabulous examples of the kind of devotion that is such a pleasure to learn from and also almost unbelievably friendly, making your stay throughout as comfortable as possible.When they say, 'Treat this like home', they aren't joking.From the charming aesthetics in the different areas of the school to the bright lights that light up your path at night, it is almost impossible to resist a warm serenity that encompasses the surroundings of the shala. With the beach right there, massage centres to pick from and tons of stores to shop from, it was easy to take a break if anybody wanted a change or a break.It is hard to pick a favorite part about my stay and if I had to, it would be lessons from my teachers there. Words and actions that came at the right time and the right place. In my opinion, those are traits of teachers who truly care about making a difference and that is probably what really makes Kranti Yoga so special in the end."

    "Staying at Kranti's beautifully built yoga village is all you would want from a stay in Goa; peaceful, relaxing, friendly and energizing. In the heart of Patnem Beach, we felt safe and lucky to be amongst the yogi's. You can enjoy having the choice to be part of it, with their twice-daily drop in yoga classes, or you can just happily slot into the daily life of the lovely staff and teachers, enjoying your stay around them. The accommodation is gorgeous; clean, fun (we had a tree in the bathroom!), and felt very romantic - waking up to the sound of the sea. We also had a hammock outside our front door, which was a lovely refuge in the afternoon sun. Its a really special place to stay - and a must when visiting south Goa. Thank you all at Kranti!"

    "I stayed on the beachside of the shala for yoga teacher training in April! It was the most amazing, jam-packed month and I had a truly transformative experience! I was able to change my entire outlook on life and am still on a high from it all! I actually got to the point where I was trying to work out if I had enough money swindled away to stay longer - and sadly I didn't! :( I couldn't say one bad thing about the place - I lived the life of a gypsy beach yoga goddess for over 4 weeks. I miss the beautiful friends I made, the amazing teachers, the hot days, beach swims, and just the overall vibe of the shala, Patnem and Palolem. I'll definitely be back - it's just a question of when!! I highly reccomend kranti to anyone who asks me about it -taking the plunge to go there was the best decision I've made in a very long time!! Om shanti shanti shanti!"

    "If someone had of told me a year ago I would get to spend four months on the beautiful beach of Patnem I would never have believed them. I originally went to Kranti Yoga to complete my 200hr TTC on a whim in November last year. I didn't have a huge amount of yoga experience but there was something that really pulled me to the shala. I can honestly say I have never in my 23 years of living felt so welcomed in a place. Yes the beach is beautiful and the accommodation is perfect, but there is something even more magical about the people themselves.I went on to complete my teacher training plus and still couldn't leave after that. After returning to the UK I now fully appreciate the standard and quality of teaching you receive at Kranti Yoga. In turn this gives you fantastic stepping stones to become a well knowledgeable well respected teacher yourself! All courses offered are designed and coordinated in a way that ensures every aspect needed is covered in the most personal and inspiring way. This works effortlessly with the mixture of Indian and western teachers who complement each other perfectly. The team goes far beyond the teachers themselves- the kitchen staff, maintenance guys, oh and the dogs! Who ALL add to the magic and the pleasantries of the shala. Anyone who gets the opportunity to study at Kranti Yoga are part of an extremely blessed community. I will forever be in debt to the people and the place I am filled with gratitude to have met so many people in this life changing experience. Namaste :)"

    "I stayed at Kranti Yoga Village for 2 weeks and did the yoga holiday with a few intensive days attached. I originally booked in to check out the ashtanga yoga programme and also to have a yoga break away. I was very impressed with the yoga village, Kranti and all staff were wonderful people. You are made to feel at home immediately and everybody is very warm and friendly. The shala is pretty big and beautiful with a very peaceful and loving energy. The teaching staff are all tremendously professional and for this reason I have decided to go back and do my 300 hours programme. I am looking forward to seeing everybody again and improving my yoga skills and hanging out at the Kranti Yoga Village. Thanks to everybody there! Oh and the food was amazing too!     "My stay at Kranti was an experience of a life time. Being a female, my less adventurous friends and family, were quite skeptical of my solo travel to India. I accepted the taxi arranged by the Kranti team and made it to paradise safe and sound.I took the 200 hr course. This program is scheduled so you have enough time to keep busy while still being able to relax. The surrounding areas and towns are completely safe and you'll make plenty of lifelong friends to experience your time with. Though, if you prefer to never leave Kranti you have everything you need right inside the shala.You'll never be hungry. The food is delicious and the cooks are accommodating. You are going to get sore and find something new about yourself. You'll never need to stress about the tests because the teachers and mentors want you to succeed and are there to make sure you do. ...and you will.This place becomes home. You'll fit in instantly and feel the love as soon as you walk through the door."

    "I went to Kranti Yoga in February to complete my 200 hour YTT. Looking back, I wouldn't have done it anywhere else. The area itself is absolutely beautiful. Doing yoga right next to the beach doesn't get much better. Not only is the area itself in Patnem amazing, but the accommodation is the best. The cutest little beach huts you will ever see and stay in. The staff at Kranti was out of this world. The food was amazing and the cooks work so hard to prepare fresh food for everyone all day. The teachers were really the best. They were all so knowledgeable and lived and practiced everything they preached. I learned so much more about yoga and the yogic lifestyle during this course than I ever fathomed. I came out of this course knowing how to lead classes and complete my own self practice every day. I gained so much knowledge and wise insight from this course that I have been able to share with others and apply to my own life at home. I highly recommend anyone going to Kranti Yoga to complete their YTT or even a yoga holiday. You'll be surrounded by the most blissful and beautiful people in the most beautiful place. You won't regret it and you'll want to go back."

    "I can't recommend Kranti's teaching enough. I went to 1 class on the last day of a holiday in Goa in 2011 and learnt more in those 90 minutes than I'd learnt in 2 weeks in a different class, or with any teacher before. I knew then I'd go back for more intensive teacher training with Kranti the following year.I did the 200 hr YTT course in December 2012. Day to day the whole experience is amazing. Early mornings waking up on the beach, walking half asleep to the shala, Pranayama and philosophy with Gaurav, waking into practice with the ashtanga opening prayer, adjustments pushing everyone further than they imagined they could go, laughing with the other students, back-bending, hip opening and jump through classes, it's all both physically and emotionally exhausting (in a great way) and energizing - and in the end you can teach others!The atmosphere in the shala is welcoming from the day you arrive and continues throughout. I thought I'd need to be super advanced by the end, but that's not the case; everyone starts and finishes the course with different levels of practice and when you qualify you teach to the level you are, while deepening your own self practice. There was such a progression from the day I started to the day the course ended and it was fascinating to see that change in others too.The learning feels really organic, clearly it's not and it's planned to be that way, but I started the course having no idea how to teach and 4 weeks later I couldn't wait to teach a class. Whether you go on to teach or not, for the experience and deepening your own practice, I'd recommend Kranti Yoga."

    "What an amazing experience!! I completed the 200 hours YTTC in December and absolutely loved every minute of it. My practice has never been so good and I have left the course much stronger than before. The teachers had me working harder than ever and I achieved so much during the four weeks. I had practiced Ashtanga for 2 years prior to the course but the workshops have really helped me to focus on key areas such as jumping back and hip opening allowing my practice to develop in terms of my strength and flexibility. The highlight of my week was the back bending class on Saturday morning. I left the class elated and more energized than ever. I would return to Patnem solely for this class, I was addicted!!!The teaching side of the course allowed us to build towards teaching an hour long class in the final week. We started teaching each other in the second week and so by the fourth week, we were a lot more confident in giving instructions and demonstrating the correct alignment of each of the postures. The course focused on Ashtanga Yoga but then we were encouraged deliver a Vinyasa Flow Class. It was inspiring to learn from the other students on the course since we all came from such different yogic backgrounds and we all devised different Vinyasa Flow Sequences.I completed the course and stayed in Patnem to teach Drop In Classes at Kranti Yoga. This was a huge success for me and I am hoping to return to work there next season. The atmosphere at the shala is so warm and friendly that you cannot help but feel like part of the family. I cant wait to return!"

    "I did the Teacher teacher training in Feb 2012. I did some Yoga before not too much. My motivation was to get a good foundation for my own practice and to be able to use the knowledge for the sports class I give at home. I may not know a lot about Yoga, but I saw lots of different teachers in different Sports, and can tell that Kranti is a good teacher with lots of experience though is young at age.I love to do my self practice at home know and successfully integrated yoga knowledge into my classes and life. Thanks to Kranti for teaching and passing your patience, discipline and love. Thanks to Gaurav, Meu Irmao, for introducing me into Pranayama. Love you guys."

I saw my physical practice improve greatly over the four week course as well as my attitude and understanding of yoga and the philosophy behind it. Kranti has a unique style of teaching which encourages you to push yourself to your personal maximum using his knowledge and support.     "Namaste. I did 3-week intensive course there, like a yoga holiday in India. Having been practicing yoga less than a year, my intention was to practice more intensively so that I become more flexible on my tight hamstrings and back. What l have learned was much more profound than just loosening my tight hamstrings. Starting with Pranayama with Gaurav every morning really helped slowing and deepening my breaths, which prepared me well for the day of hardcore practice with Kranti. l was really looking forward to each morning practice with him.Some days, my body was stiff, sore and lazier to move, but he always said, "The pain is not in your body, it's in your mind. So, l tried and it worked! I had back-pain and it was gradually moving away as I paid less attention to it. I trusted Kranti, let him adjust my poses and l really felt the difference in my body and even surprised at myself to know that l am actually quite flexible.His effort and passion towards his students' possibilities are something I really appreciate. His way of motivating people on the mat can be a bit surprising to some people when their expectation on the mat is a gentle touch on your back with a soft voice. He pushes you in such a motivating manner that you cannot stay on the mat thinking about something else. As much effort as he puts on you individually, you have to keep your focus and push your limits!At the end of 3rd week, I found myself stronger and lighter with peace of mind J The shala is as beautiful as the experience with Kranti and his team!     "Remove your shoes and your mind hereAt the steps to the yoga platform you are kindly reminded to Remove your shoes and your mind here so I did.I had done a 200 hour teacher teacher training 2 years previously, had good intentions to teach, but discovered that 200 hours felt like a drop in the ocean. I found the experience all very humbling & despite a very thorough teacher training, I felt overwhelmed at the vastness of the subject of yoga - how could I call myself a teacher now? I needed this trip to feed my appetite for yoga, to quench my thirst for knowledge so I could gain the confidence I needed to make the leap from the career in advertising I had invested in for 10 years to Yoga Teacher and make a few life changing decisions.I was very conscious that I didnt feel I could take myself seriously as a yoga practitioner. I was not a Sanskrit scholar, Ive forgotten the names of certain postures, I cant get my leg behind my head, Im intimated by anyone that has been to The Ashtanga Research Institute and I dont necessarily follow the Eight Limb philosophy despite trying (sometimes). Its very challenging in the modern world you know. I mean, how can you consistently practice Ahimsa when youre in a packed tube carriage on a Monday morning and someone treads on your toe, spills their coffee on your freshly laundered white shirt and doesnt apologize? Youre going to get mad and all sentiments of non-violence and compassion will escape you! And, I felt enormously inadequate because I have never been to Mysore despite it never really appealing joining the throngs of Ashtangis practicing nose to tail alongside hundreds of others (all of whom would inevitability be better than me!) taking themselves so, very seriously. I needed hands on I needed someone to push me further, deeper than I could push myself. Be careful what you wish forWell they do say when the student is ready the teacher will appear and I found myself thinking that perhaps I should be more careful what I wish for because suddenly there was Kranti climbing on me to adjust my posture for the hundredth time that day and shouting More, more go more. You can go more. I could always go more. All of us could always give it more, even when we thought we couldnt. Kranti had a unique way of unlocking our bodies, casting aside our minds and pushing us deeper, harder than we ever thought possible whilst injecting a tremendous sense of fun into it all. He teaches the traditional Ashtanga method, but in a more unorthodox way, which Im sure is red-flagged as controversial in certain circles, with just as much discipline that is to be found in Mysore and ten times the attention. TTC & Intensive courses are structured in such a way that you will find yourself doing Mysore self practice & workshops, focused on progressing your practice, strengthening & opening the body and focusing your attention, on alternate days such as back bending, hip opening, Jump backs / Jump through all of which are structured around Primary Series postures to improve your practice at rocket speed faster than you can say Spirulina Smoothie."
