Program

Surf twice a day, every day of the week! Your package includes surf guiding in the price at Kima Sri Lanka surf camp Weligama. KIMASurf co-ordinates surf trips daily, seven days a week, for all levels, to various breaks around southern Sri Lanka. You can join with two guided sessions every day. Smaller groups are divided into their skill levels and go surfing spots taking current tide, swell and wind conditions into account.

The Kima surf guides

Kima Surf camp guides surf with you in the water, giving you all the tips and keeping you safe in the water. The guides know and will teach you to understand the waves - they will tell you points you need to know about the surf spots. Your guided surf tours adapt to the local and area conditions - depending on the swell, some secret surf spots could be part of your trip!

Daily routine

The digital surf planner allows you to select the surf sessions that suit you best. This happens the day before surfing at the surf resort in Weligama. The Kima Surf Sri Lanka team will help you to make your choices - they are here to help and get you in the water confidently.

Theory lessons and video analysis

Some surf sessions are filmed and then analyzed, this can occur up to six times a week. Join the theory lessons that are offered six times a week. Both filmed and theory options are included in your package.

Board rental

Do not worry about bringing a board or multiple boards, KIMASurf has them covered. They supply shortboards - 6'2" – 6'6", fun shapes and mini-malibus - 6'8" – 8'0". They also have a range of soft-top boards, available for every level and all conditions.

Included in the rental price are Leashes and Lycra. Please note that repairs or equipment that is lost will need to be paid for.

Insure your surfboard

Surf with confidence and insure your rental board. Board insurance will cover the costs for repairs as required over a period of one to three weeks, whether it’s a small ding, (dent) or a snapped board. All damage is professionally repaired. Note: If parts of the board get lost - even within the water - the repair costs will be paid by the user.

Yoga

Daily yoga sessions are included in your surf camp package at Kima Surf Sri Lanka. If you are looking for a break from surfing and looking to relax and unwind join their in-house yoga classes. Six days a week, Monday to Saturday, they offer yoga classes. This is a great way to improve your strength and flexibility as well as your focus and balance. These skills are also some of the most important aspects of surfing too!

The classes are open for beginners as well as experienced yogis and they offer different styles of yoga including Hatha, Yin Yoga, and Ashtanga yoga. If you are interested in a private class, your yoga teacher can also guide you through a 60-minute private session.

Retreat location

Sri Lanka is a small tropical island off the southern tip of India, with a population that lives and celebrates their centuries-old traditions. In Sri Lanka, cultural traditions are held in high regard, and many of the daily customs are focused around and influenced by their heritage of Theravada Buddhism, which was passed along from India. Sri Lanka is a multicultural society, and therefore it is not surprising to find a high level of cultural and festive events taking place. Come and experience the culture of Sri Lanka!

Tourist coastal regions

Sri Lanka’s coastal regions are fairly touristy with a newly developed infrastructure particularly in the south of the island. Restaurants, western-inspired cafes, shopping spots and medical clinics with western standards have been established around the areas of Weligama and Galle. Larger hospitals, shopping malls, and cinemas can be found in the city of Columbo.

The breathtaking scenery with its luxuriant, tropical vegetation and the famous tea plantation is the setting for religious ceremonies and worship. The mystical atmosphere is still evident throughout the island.

Kima surf camp in Sri Lanka is located in the perfect position for beginner surfers. Right outside the camp doors are waves that are ideal for riding your first green wave and learning the basic surf skills. For intermediate surfers, Sri Lanka has a whole series of various beach breaks and reef breaks. There are many perfect waves nearby that will push your skills and hopefully make you an advanced surfer by the end of your stay.

Of course, advanced surfers also get great value during a Sri Lanka surf trip. KIMASurf will talk to you about all the tides, weather and options that are possible. The camp will have guests of all levels of surfing, you will meet other capable surfers and our experienced guides will give you inside details on advanced options.

Surfing is the reason to visit us on this island off the south coast of India. The beaches and deep-blue waves should be appreciated: surfing is the way, and we are here to get you in the water! Kima Surf camps are designed for people trying surfing for the first time, surfers that want to improve their skills, and for dedicated surfers searching for the best waves around the world.

The best beginner surf beaches Sri Lanka offers are found towards the southern end of the island. In the south you will find waves to suit all surfing skill levels. Sri Lanka has beautiful beaches that can be surfed throughout the year. Get that surfboard waxed and join us to surf in Sri Lanka.

Sandy Village (Weligama) is where Kima Surf has based their camp in Sri Lanka. It is the best place for beginner surfers in the country. The town has great energy which will inspire you to surf your heart out. The main beach has its own surf break, and smaller beaches around the large bay provide their own unique waves, these they'll talk to you about and get you in the right location according to your skill level. Conditions are best here between October and April - this part of Sri Lanka gets 330 days of sunshine a year.

The ocean serves up excellent waves for your Sri Lanka surf trip, from casual beach breaks and long point break walls to punchy beach break peaks.

The most fun and real value with a Sri Lanka surf holiday is that as you progress and develop throughout your trip, you can challenge yourself by stepping up to spots that pack a bit more power, pushing you onwards with your journey to the next level of surfing.
