This 100-hour Yin and mediation training is the perfect opportunity to add your palette as a teacher or a practitioner. Over the nine days, you will experience the more mindful and meditative aspect of yoga, gain insight into traditional Chinese medicine and five elements, and leave equipped to teach beautiful Yin practices, meditations, and introduce mindfulness to new as well as experienced students.
Karuna Yoga Journeys use a beautiful Guest House for many of their activities, The rooftop overlooks the old city and is the perfect place for discussions and early morning meditation and practice.
There are two rooms on the top floor and two rooms on the ground floor. Each floor has a well-equipped kitchen and bathroom and it is here the guests all gather for breakfast.
The rooms are twin, double, or single. Balconies allow for fresh airflow and there is also AC.
Students who complete their subsequent trainings are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).

With her diploma and certificate in hand, Leyla flew to Ethiopia. She has traveled a lot and had various journeys through Africa before settling in Jinja, Uganda. She became qualified as a yoga teacher in 2008 with Africa Yoga and has been teaching extensively over the world since then. Initially drawn to the dynamic nature of Ashtanga and its power and moving meditation qualities, she has now softened herself and prefers to teach Vinyasa flow.
Payal is a biotechnologist turned yoga teacher. Since she was a child, she found herself very curious about the mind, body, and soul connection. Until the age of 23, Payal had a regular yoga practice as a part of her culture, not paying much attention to it. At the age of 24, due to a major shift in her life, she left her job in one of the most competitive environments in the world and took a break. This is when she re-discovered her enthusiasm for yoga. She dedicated the next year deepening her own practice with several teachers in India, and in 2014, she became a full-time yoga teacher.
June is magical in Cyprus. It is the last month of Spring, the fields are still a riot of colour with wildflowers, tulips, poppies and gladioli. The warmth of summer is beginning to arrive yet mornings and evenings are still mild and very comfortable to practice yoga. Castles in the mountains and beautiful beaches to explore and endless supplies of hummus, peaches, apricots and olives make it the perfect time to visit.
Karuna Yoga Journey believes in supporting the local community so they hire an air-conditioned yoga shala from a local lady in the village which is a few minute's walk through the old town from the Guest House. Expect to be greeted by the local community and invited for tea after 3 days or so.

Breakfast ranges from traditional Cypriot with options for a vegan to chia warrior, homemade granola, and a choice of gluten-free (or not) breads. There is always plenty of coffee and herbal teas, milk alternatives available.
Lunch is at a local restaurant and consists of many traditional home-cooked dishes using fresh vegetables, rice, legumes and pulses. All suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
A walk in the old city takes you on a journey of historical wonder and delight, Churches, cathedrals, mosques, baths, Othellos Tower every street has a past worth exploring.
