A tranquil, hushed, and cool refuge framed by Mount Kilimanjaro and the rolling, volcanic landscapes of the deep green Chyulu Hills, Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge in Tsavo West National Park immerses you in stunning beauty and exhilarating adventures while surrounding you with every modern comfort. Arriving guests are enchanted by the classic stone design and views of elephants, buffalo, and other plains game drinking and cooling off in the water hole. Imagine the thrill of waking up to the call of an elephant or lion in the Tsavo National Park or the sound of the waves lapping up the shore of the Indian Ocean. Walking with a ranger, looking at prints in the earth and identifying where predators walked the night before and, in contrast, wriggling your toes in powder white sand on the coast. This journey has the best of the bush and the beach, and on top of that, includes a 4-day yoga and wellness retreat.
Whilst on Safari, they will maximize your opportunity to be immersed in the present moment. Expect meditation at watering holes or under star-filled skies. Days start early with game drives at sunrise, followed by breakfasts that are late and offer a chance to talk about the morning animal sightings. Afternoons are used for lazing, dozing, reading, and lunch before heading back out to spot animals in their natural habitat.
Kilifi days unravel at a gentler pace, catch up on much-needed sleep, linger over lazy brunches, hide away in one of the many little nooks to enjoy a good book, lounge by the pool soaking up the sun, meander up the hillside on a guided walk or stay put and enjoy the spectacular sunsets!

All sessions are optional and are tailored to suit all levels. For the yoga enthusiasts, there will be two practices daily. On top of yoga and meditation they will be showing you tips and tricks for the kitchen that will suit the fussiest eaters or wow guests.
With her diploma and certificate in hand, Leyla flew to Ethiopia. She has traveled a lot and had various journeys through Africa before settling in Jinja, Uganda. She became qualified as a yoga teacher in 2008 with Africa Yoga and has been teaching extensively over the world since then. Initially drawn to the dynamic nature of Ashtanga and its power and moving meditation qualities, she has now softened herself and prefers to teach Vinyasa flow.

Whilst you are on Safari, your meals will be catered by the Serena Hotel. Expect lots of variety, locally sourced and delicious. When you are at the coast on nourish retreat, your food will be lovingly created by Amina Foramitti.
