This training will give you the tools to design an intelligent, creative practice and deeper insights into the world of yoga. Leyla, your instructor in this training, has been on her yoga mat since 1997 and leading YTTs since 2017. In that time she has guided over 200 students through a syllabus similar to this one, it has been carefully created to help you find your authentic voice and practice in a way that supports your evolution. A beautiful blend of anatomy, alignment, and intelligent movement in combination with lessons in wisdom, philosophy and psychology from the ancient yogic culture. Her hope is that on completion, you are confident to lead others and have wise self-practice. Learn, love, and live yoga!
Alf Leila Boutique Hotel offers individually themed Arabian-style rooms. The courtyard features a little fountain and a lounge area with free Wi-Fi. The guest house has 7 uniquely decorated guest rooms on offer. Each room has air conditioning, a balcony with fabulous views, and a minibar. All rooms come with a private bathroom. The Alf Leila is a couple of minutes walk from the beach and the yoga shala.
Students who complete the training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).
The training will take you through these topics
Before the training, students will be able to practice pre-recorded asana and meditation sessions with Leyla and listen to a couple of podcasts. The basic anatomy is roughly 15 hours of pre-recorded sessions. In accordance with the Yoga Alliance, this is all roughly 30 hours depending on how many times they want to listen to meditations and practice classes.
With her diploma and certificate in hand, Leyla flew to Ethiopia. She has traveled a lot and had various journeys through Africa before settling in Jinja, Uganda. She became qualified as a yoga teacher in 2008 with Africa Yoga and has been teaching extensively over the world since then. Initially drawn to the dynamic nature of Ashtanga and its power and moving meditation qualities, she has now softened herself and prefers to teach Vinyasa flow.
Away from the hustle and bustle of Cairo’s traffic and the majesty of the Nile River, lies another historic body of water, the Red Sea. With multi-colored waters that glisten like rare jewels, and surrounded by the Sinai mountains, the Red Sea and South Sinai Desert should be on your “not to be missed” list of places to visit in Egypt. It is here in Dahab that the group will go together on a journey of transformation in the process of becoming a yoga teacher.
Dahab rests in the eastern corner of Egypt’s South Sinai Peninsula. Surrounded by Mt. Sinai and situated right on the Red Sea, Dahab is truly an oasis in the desert. Once primarily known as a fishing village, Dahab has become one of the coolest and chillest beach towns in Egypt drawing in free spirits, adventure travellers, windsurfing and kitesurfing enthusiasts and more recently the free diving community.
