Guincho Villa hosts 5 charming rooms decorated with love and zen simplicity. All rooms are accessible from inside the villa and 3 of them have a splendid sea view. You can also opt for the apartment on the ground level of the villa with a private terrace and separate entrance.
Climbing sessions will take place in Cascais coastline or Sintra mountain range depending on the group level and weather conditions. You will be climbing near waves beneath you or deep inside the Sintra forest with breathtaking views of the ocean. You will get to know this trendy sport and improve your climbing skills.
The climbing coaches are fully qualified, highly skilled, and very passionate about climbing. They are keen on sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm for climbing, therefore making your stay a special fun holiday experience for you.
Daily yoga will support your start of the day, get you in tune for the climbing session to come and in the afternoon, regenerate your body from the unknown climbing exercise. With the two different yoga styles offered you will have a lasting yoga experience and enjoy new inspiration for your daily yoga training at home.
With the climbing and yoga package, you will enjoy learning how to improve your climbing skills and have yoga lessons on 5 days.
Saturday is changeover day. Arrive. Breathe. Relax. Explore. There will be time to meet other participants and in the evening there will be a Brazilian welcome barbecue altogether.
Sunday is time to chill out and / or discover Lisbon, Sintra, the beaches, nature, the pool, read your favorite book or just enjoy the stunning view from our beautiful property.
From Monday to Friday, you will climb in the natural reserve Serra de Sintra or at the Atlantic coastline in various climbing spots. During this week you will be shown the most beautiful and breathtaking climbing rocks of Portugal and climb together routes from level 3 (easy) to 7 (difficult) according to your climbing skills. Moreover, you will get a detailed introduction into backup and leading climbing at the rocks.
In order to start your climbing adventure relaxed and also to calm your muscles down there will be yoga classes in the morning and in the afternoon. The different yoga styles (Hatha / Power / Iyengar yoga) will ensure a memorable yoga experience and give inspiration for your daily yoga exercise at home.
On Wednesday you will have a delicious typical Portuguese seafood lunch together. Also, you will skip the afternoon yoga session and you will have the possibility to get a relaxing massage.
After this week of climbing and yoga, you will be able to choose your route up the rock and confidently climb in your preferred territory. You will have met lots of like-minded, nice, and fun people and eaten lots of delicious and healthy food. Your overall experience will be a very relaxing and soothing one, giving you lots of fitness and strength, as well as good memories to remember back home in your day to day life. Until you come back to fuel up again!
The day starts at 08:00 with a gentle morning yoga class for you to wake up and to salute the sun. You will generate even more energy during the following delicious healthy organic breakfast at 09:00.
After breakfast, around 10:00, you will be picked up by the climbing guide and brought to the climbing spots, where you will enjoy your climbing lessons. After the lesson or in between, there will be some time to enjoy your healthy packed lunch and chill out a bit on the beach, before you will be brought back to the retreat around 14:00.
If you want, you can, of course, stay at the beach seeking the soothing sunlight. Alternatively, you enjoy the pool and beautiful garden of the secluded villa and read a book or socialize with other guests. Others go for other activities or some quick sightseeing. You are on holiday – feel free to do whatever you want.
In the afternoon at 16:00 / 17:00, there will be a second yoga session also with some stretching elements in order to soften the effects on muscles from the climbing.
In the evening, there is lots of time to relax, prepare a nice meal, and dine on the terrace overlooking the whole Cascais landscape and the ocean, or go out for dinner (personal recommendations can be provided). Read a book by the fireplace or in the garden. After an action-loaded day like this, you will probably fall asleep early, well, and deep for a rejuvenating sleep.

This retreat will take place in a comfortable villa with a pool and sea view in a picturesque mountain village called Malveira da Serra, a beautiful little village nestled in a paradise-like garden on the slopes of the Serra de Sintra with a breath-taking view over the Atlantic coastal region. The villa is located in a beautiful 2000 square meters garden with natural surroundings and many small, hidden places to relax or meditate.
The village itself is situated on the slopes of the Serra de Sintra, a mountain chain of at least 529 meters altitude, running from the Cabo da Roca (the westernmost point of continental Europe) to Sintra, a small historic town (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
The beautiful location of the property invites you to spend time outdoors, enjoying and letting nature soak into your soul. The nearby Praia do Guincho, and the mystical forests of the Serra de Sintra are particularly magical places full of positive energy. There are of course numerous beaches with waves waiting to be explored.
There are some nice restaurants (Portuguese cuisine, seafood, pizza, and other snack options), bars, hairdresser, pharmacy, banks, a bakery, a butcher, some small shops and a supermarket, all in about 10 minutes' walk from the villa.
In the morning, you will be served a healthy organic breakfast (buffet), consisting of cereal, organic fruit, bread, rolls, homemade jam, milk, yogurt, typical sausages, and cheeses of the region and other Portuguese delicacies. You will also be served freshly juiced juices and green smoothies made from fruit and veggies of the season. Moreover, coffee, various teas, water, and fruit are at your disposal during your stay at the Karma Surf Retreat.
At noon, a delicious healthy packed lunch will be arranged to enjoy during or after your activities. You can have it at the beach or back home in the villa.
On top of that, Karma Surf Retreat will organize a Brazilian welcome barbecue plus a Portuguese seafood lunch. At all other times there is a fully equipped kitchen in the villa at your disposal, so you can prepare your favorite dishes and dine together, for example, on the terrace overlooking the sea watching the sunset.
In case you would like to eat out, there are several restaurants nearby, including typical Portuguese, seafood, grilled chicken, snacks, pizza and also a gourmet restaurant. For sure you will find something you like. You have an even bigger variety of restaurants in Cascais (15 minutes). Even Lisbon’s stunning culinary diversity (including vegetarian) is only 30 minutes by car and will not leave any wish unfulfilled.
Please book your flight to arrive at Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS). Airport shuttle is available 50 EUR per trip for 1 - 3 persons. Alternatively, from the airport, you can take the public shuttle bus to the train station Cais do Sodre, where you take the train to Cascais (combined approximately 7 EUR). From there, you can take a taxi to the retreat in Malveira da Serra (approximately 8 - 12 EUR). Travel time is 1 - 1.5 hours.
