A family-run three stars accommodation close to the town of Girne (Kyrenia). Turning off the main coastal road just a five to eight minutes drive west out of Girne (Kyrenia) and heading down a small lane towards the sea you will come across the wonderful family-run accommodation of the Riviera Beach Bungalows.

As the name suggests the small three-star resort has a private sandy beach (rocky at one end), which although relatively small compared to other beaches a fair drive further along the coast, is perfectly adequate for this size of the resort. If you are keen to get out for a snorkel, there is also a jetty that goes out over the rocky section of the beach into deeper waters.

Apart from the beach, Riviera Beach Bungalows also have quite a large swimming pool, which has a cascading waterfall at one end and also a separate, shallow children's pool. It certainly is a beautiful pool and is arguably the best feature of the resort.

The entire resort has beautifully landscaped gardens, rich with both native and exotic flora. The gardens make the entire resort feel very secluded, and you certainly won’t feel you are just a short drive from central Girne (Kyrenia). Each of the studios, bungalows, and apartments are interspersed within the garden and either have great views of the grounds, swimming pool area or the Mediterranean Sea.

Whilst staying at this resort you are likely to come across all thee generations of the Onuray family, all of whom are absolutely delightful and really show off what traditional Cypriot hospitality is all about.

The family are keen horticulturists and also enjoying harvesting fruit and vegetables from their own organic gardens and making delicious home-made preserves, many of which guests get to try during breakfast. Guests are always welcome to enjoy a fresh fig or pomegranate off the trees when wandering through the gardens of the resort.

Breakfast is a real delight, with a mixture of Turkish and European dishes served in summer on an open-air terrace overlooking the sea, and in winter in the inside and very cozy pine-wood decorated restaurant. Apart from the restaurants in the central building, there is also the reception area, a bar and a comfy lounge area with communal television.

Overall the Riviera Beach Bungalows is a peaceful and laidback resort which is often described as a "haven" by many guests. Families with young children especially seem to enjoy the resort as between the pool, beach, and gardens, there is plenty for children to explore and the family creates a very safe and friendly atmosphere.

Program

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive in North Cyprus, settle in the hotel.

Day 2

In the morning, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., you will have a morning Vinyasa flow. Vinyasa flow is a yoga style that combines Hatha, Ashtanga, and Yin yoga poses with the flow of breath. The sun salutation is an essential part of the class and it serves as the basic form from which different variations are created.

The class includes hand and leg balances, and inversions. The class will shift between dynamic and gentle movements that work your entire body. You will be ready for the day.

In the evening at 6 p.m. to 7.30 p.m., you will have Yin yoga practice. Yin yoga is one of the less dynamic forms of yoga. In order to affect the deep connective tissues in the body, the yoga poses on the floor are held for four to 10 minutes at the time.

The transitions between the poses are slow and relaxed. This session focuses on the spine. In addition to the mat, you need a yoga block, a cushion/pillow, and a blanket for this session. Please wear warm clothing. You will have a welcome dinner at the restaurant at 8 p.m.

Day 3

In the morning, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., you will have a morning Vinyasa flow. Vinyasa flow is a yoga style that combines Hatha, Ashtanga, and Yin yoga poses with the flow of breath. The sun salutation is an essential part of the class and it serves as the basic form from which different variations are created.

The class includes hand and leg balances, and inversions. The class will shift between dynamic and gentle movements that work your entire body. You will be ready for the day.

In the evening at 6 p.m. to 7.30 p.m., you will practice gentle Somatic yoga (R). Somatic yoga is about your internal experience as much as it is about releasing tightness in your body. Pandiculation technique specific to this style resets your brain to release "forgotten" tense muscles (which happens when something becomes chronic ).

The movements that are mixing yoga and pilates techniques are executed slowly and eyes closed. A warmer dress is suggested, and a blanket and cushion for the exercises and savasana relaxation. This session will focus on the spine. Please wear warm clothing.

Day 4

In the morning, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., you'll practice yogalates. Yogalates mixes pilates and yoga exercises taking the best from both styles. The session focuses specifically on the core, reviving and strengthening the abdominals and back, however, arms and legs are equally involved and get their share of the workout.

In the evening at 6 p.m. to 7.30 p.m., you will have Yin yoga practice. Yin yoga is one of the less dynamic forms of yoga. In order to affect the deep connective tissues in the body, the yoga poses on the floor are held for four to 10 minutes at the time.

Day 6

In the morning, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., you'll practice yogalates. Yogalates mixes pilates and yoga exercises taking the best from both styles. The session focuses specifically on the core, reviving and strengthening the abdominals and back, however, arms and legs are equally involved and get their share of the workout. You will use a band and block as props for the exercises. The bands will be provided by the teacher. Please bring your personal band/block if available.

In the evening at 6 p.m. to 7.30 p.m., you will have Yin yoga and Tibetan healing bowl relaxation sessions (inside the hotel building). Yin yoga is one of the less dynamic forms of yoga. In order to affect the deep connective tissues in the body, the yoga poses on the floor are held for four to 10 minutes at the time. The transitions between the poses are slow and relaxed. The Yin part of the session lasts about 60 minutes.

The singing bowl relaxation (about 30 minutes) is done by resting on your back in a comfortable position. The Yin yoga poses and the vibration of the Tibetan healing bowls stimulate the circulation of fluids in all bodily organs. The amazing sound of the bowls has an ability to release great tension in the deeper layers within the body. Please bring a blanket, block, and cushion, wear warmer clothing. At 8 p.m., you'll have a farewell dinner at the restaurant.

Day 7
