Meals are lip-smacking. Every morning the guests are given free yoga session for one hour and guided plantation tour owned by the resorts. Excellent service and staff.

I went to this resort with my wife and stayed 1 day in luxurious room and 1 day in Tree House. This is a culinary haven for vegetarians, with the food being amazing and completely organic. The people running the resort were very friendly and good natured. The luxury room and tree house were absolutely neat and clean. The resort is located in the middle of cardamom plantation and offers good privacy and peace of mind. I would be visiting this place again and would highly recommend this for my friends/family.

This combines the best of homestay and hotel in its setting, character, warmth, ambience and food. Had chosen to stay here based on TripAdvisor reviews and I wasn't disappointed. Harish was an excellent host and even though he stayed a bit away from this place, he was always around to help. The room was nice, clean and well maintained and if we needed something like the fixing of the heater, it was promptly attended to. Food was made to order and with organic raw materials so we enjoyed it. Since this is a yoga themed homestay, they serve only vegetarian food but we didn't mind as we ate out when we had the craving for non-vegetarian food. Only point of bother was we had to confirm dinner by noon itself as they had to plan accordingly even though it was prepared only later. Even though we didn't practice yoga when we were there, the huge hall when they practiced yoga was calming by itself. They have a couple of jeeps that they use to pick up and drop guests to the main road. Overall, it was a very relaxing experience and you would end up feeling you can just laze around in this place without even feeling the need to step out to see sights.

I came to Munnar with my husband in the middle of November when the entire Munnar was blooming. You could see hues of yellow, orange set in the backdrop of green, everywhere. It was the peak season - I could see couples and bangles (read: chooras) everywhere. I wanted to stay some place special. And Kaivalyam turned out to be the best choice.Run by a Gujarati couple who can give management lessons on customer delight. Their breakfast menu was immensely interesting, different and very tasty. The entire staff was very cordial and friendly. The best part - the rooms with glass, sliding doors opening to the best natural setting possible. Ideal for watching sunrise/ sunset, sipping morning coffee, reading a book or just taking a nap.Visiting Munnar as a couple or with family, highly recommended either way!

I spent 1 month in India and this was my favorite place. First of all, Munnar - it's so beautiful! As someone else said, it's like living inside a postcard. Kaivalyam is 6 Km before you reach Munnar, set on a cliff side, surrounded by tea and cardamom plantations. As previously said, a spectacular setting! My friend enjoyed the nature walks while I just soaked up the ambience - Yoga class at dawn, listening to birds chirping and the sounds of nature all around you. So, so peaceful. Food was all vegetarian and excellent! Some of the best food I enjoyed in India! Our host, who conducted the yoga classes, was so accommodating, polite and laid-back, as was all the staff. Kudos to all!I could go on and on about this place - rooms were so clean and built to take advantage of the surroundings, grounds perfectly landscaped and maintained - all this for a very reasonable cost.If you're going to Munnar, stay here! You won't be disappointed!!!

Kaivelyam Retreat is the place to stay while at Munnar. We stayed here for a couple of nights and were totally mesmerized by the place. Surrounded by greenery, trees, flowers throughout, this is a peaceful abode. To top it all the food they make it is absolutely yummy - we were looking forward to the food everyday. Hope I get to go there again.

This retreat is a little out of Munnar, but you will barely notice because the service and hospitality is so slick. I arrived very late on my check in date after a bumpy bus ride, and was immediately given a very warm welcome with chai and dinner. The food here was excellent, all cooked fresh each day using produce from the herb and vegetable garden and it is very well priced. The atmosphere is very serene too. I stayed in one of the two tree houses, which was a really fantastic experience, but far more luxurious than it sounds! Harish, and all of his staff, were so helpful in arranging trips making it a really seamless experience. There is morning yoga daily in a beautiful little spot in the gardens which is an ace way to start the day, and there are plenty of walks in the retreat you can take part in. I'd definitely recommend this. If you're travelling solo, bear in mind that the dining room isn't communal so make sure you have a good book with you to enjoy the peace and quiet.

This is a lovely place to stay if you are veggie, like yoga and don't want any alcohol, but if like us you like a beer or a class of wine with your meal you might not want to stay here. However it was a lovely place to stay for one night and the food was very good, freshly prepared and very tasty. The rooms are airy and well decorated, each with a balcony over-looking the forest. It was very good value too.

Kaivalyam retreat is a perfect resort if you are looking for a complete unwinding from the rush and hustle bustle of a city life. Though the resort is located in a secluded place it offers an excellent service. Dont get scared by the treacherous terrain which takes you to the resort coz you are in for surprise as the resort is located amidst cardamom and pepper plantations. The resort also provides a jeep for pick up from the main road and Mr.Rajendran is an efficient driver. The resort has only 8 rooms which are spacious and are kept very clean. The food is very homely and delicious. Kids will really enjoy as the resort also offers small recreation like chess, carrom, badminton etc. We took the spice plantation walk till the waterfalls as one of the workers there guided us. It was just like a jungle safari and we thoroughly enjoyed it. If you are looking for a perfect peaceful unwinding amidst nature, Kaivalyam is the place. I will definitely visit again for more. Overall a complete THUMBS UP!!!!

Kaivalyam Retreat just amazing! It is located amidst the spice plantation, around 8-10 km away from the city. A perfect place to relax and unwind yourself from the busy urban life. The drive from the main road to the Retreat by jeep is thrilling.Rooms are clean, beautiful, and luxurious; food is absolutely delicious!(Veg only) .It is actually a mini resort in itself. They have a nice collection of books, indoor & outdoor games and ample space with plantation all around.
