You will begin your day with an invigorating Hatha Vinyasa yoga practice and achieve a deep state of mental and physical relaxation with your evening Yin yoga practice. Sound healing and music will be playfully woven throughout your classes. Each class will end with a short discussion on proper form and alignment for the postures just practiced to deepen a student's understanding.
Hatha Vinyasa yoga is one of the original systems of yoga that includes asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises). Vinyasa means flow and represents fluid movements. Hatha Vinyasa utilizes breath to create fluid movements through various yoga postures. Yin yoga encompasses long-held, static postures meant to stretch the connective tissue around joints. The goal of Yin yoga is to achieve a deep state of mental and physical relaxation.
All of the teachers at K’in care about providing a class that feels both challenging and accessible to you. They would happy to work with you between classes, providing feedback on proper form, alignment, and any other questions.
Often when you start practicing yoga, you don't have the opportunity to learn good form that builds strength in the body and protects your bodies from injury. Your teachers will aim to slow down the practice and offer explanations for why you practice certain poses and what the benefits are.

"I am giving this retreat a score of 10 because it is so excellent and I enjoyed it so much."
"The retreat provided a good balance of strengthening and restorative practice along with movement meditation and time for reflection. The sounds included such a drumming, chants, poetry reading enhanced relaxation and recovery. The practice seemed to be mindfully thought out to assist in this. The optional termazcal (mayan sweat lodge) contributed to more healing and restoration although this may not be for everyone."
"What can I say about the food: it was excellent catering vegetarian and vegan. The meals contributed to healing of the body along with the mind and soul. The retreat has left an aftermath of a sense of peace and calm that is continuing. I did the Santosha retreat and plan on doing another one in May."
