Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at La Aurora International Airport (GUA). Transfers from and to this airport can be arranged on request. Julie and Karen Yoga will arrange private group transportation to and from the lake at a special rate of 25 USD per person each way.

You should arrive at the airport by 12:00 to make the prearranged private transportation to the lakeside and boat shuttle to the resort. On the departure day, the shuttles will be timed for 12:00 flights from the airport in Guatemala City.

What to bring

You can bring sensible shoes. The stunning hillside location Julie and Karen Yoga has chosen as their yoga hideaway also means some walking up and down to some of the rooms and facilities, so you will need to be steady on your feet.

  • Julie

    Julie discovered the joy of yoga in the 80s in South Africa. Many Oms later, she completed her 200-hour RYT certification at Radha Madhav Dham in Austin, Texas, and began teaching in 2007. Her 500-hour RYT certification took her to India for a deeper understanding of this ancient way of life. She relishes the yoga philosophy of how to live a happier and healthier life through movement, mindfulness, and meditation. Julie encourages awareness, curiosity, and acceptance on and off the yoga mat, and is particularly drawn to the guided relaxation practice of yoga Nidra.

  • Karen

    Karen fell in love with yoga in her very first class over 25 years ago. Completing her 200-hour RYT certification from the Hatha Yoga Center of Seattle, Washington, as well as in Bali, prepared her to begin teaching in 2004. Most recently on Lake Atitlán, she completed training in Nada yoga: the yoga of sound and cacao. Karen shares her heart with students through joyous and creative instruction, and her love for yoga is infectious. Helping people to find their own yoga bliss is what makes her teacher's​ heart sing.
