Accommodation

The accommodation will be arranged at Holders House, a magnificent 17th-century plantation house. Set in its own stunning grounds on the wonderful west coast of the island, the house has a beautiful veranda looking out to sea, which provides the perfect backdrop for your twice daily flowing yoga practice. It is elegant and comfortable with lots of sumptuous sofa areas for relaxation and reflection, gorgeous dining spaces, and a wonderful pool.

The bedrooms are stylish and comfortable. The decor is Caribbean meets old England and Bohemian chic. There are double, twin, and single options available. Towels and basic toiletries are provided and room cleaning and laundry needs are taken care of by the housekeeper, Joan, and her team.

Program

The sun salutation brings about the harmony of body, breath, and mind, strengthening our core and opening you to life's flow. Throughout the week, you will explore many ways of saluting the sun, not only on the mat, but on the water, on the sand, and at the table.

The week’s program will include daily meditation and pranayama, and the morning’s Vinyasa Flow is balanced with an afternoon Yin session. Add to this soothing massage and food which is healthy and healing as well as divine and delicious, and you will be feeling fully alive and well in every way.

Retreat location

The retreat takes place on the idyllic island of Barbados. The most Easterly of the Caribbean islands, famed for its white sandy beaches and turquoise blue waters, Barbados is a hot, exotic, and tropical paradise. It is also a coral stone island with a crystal heart and magical healing properties, making it the perfect place to take time out, reconnect with yourself, immerse in nature, and restore balance to body and mind.

Food

The meals provided will be primarily vegetarian, but with some fish. Raw food chef Manuela Scalini will delight you with an array of amazing raw food lunches and the resident local chef, Anthony, will treat you to the finest healthy local cuisine. There will be an opportunity to sample the fabulous local restaurants as one lunch and one dinner will be eaten out. Special dietary requirements are catered for.

  • Breakfast: Raw citrus granola and brazil nut milk, local fruit salad, and fresh (Jamaican) orange juice
  • Poolside elixir: Bajan cherry and coconut water
  • Lunch: Falafel with hummus on romaine boats with a dill cucumbers and mint yogurt sauce, accompanied by fatoush salad with pomegranate molasses dressing, radishes, tomato, cucumbers, onions, raw vanilla, and mint chocolate chip ice cream
  • Dinner: Blackened red snapper with salad and local vegetables

Spa treatments

Your package includes one massage with excellent massage therapist Claudia Tessarin, to soothe aches and pains. This will be booked into the schedule on your arrival. One session at her healing hands will have you relaxed, stress-free, and floating on air.

Claudia is highly experienced and qualified in various massage techniques including Thai yoga, deep tissue, sports, classic Swedish, and Indian head massage. With a long-standing interest in health, fitness, and the therapeutic power of massage, she continues to travel and train and fuses many different styles and will tailor your time with her to suit your specific needs and overall well-being.

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 34% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
