Heriots Croft, Twitton Lane, is a delightful Grade II listed detached cottage situated between the well-regarded villages of Otford and Shoreham, boasting some fine period features, including exposed beams and fireplaces.
The principal reception room is stunning, with a triple aspect to the front and an abundance of exposed beamworks and two fireplaces. The kitchen has been sensitively fitted with a range of modern units, including a central island, modern appliances, an AGA, a lava rock grill, and an electric hob. A door leads to the extended dining room, which has a vaulted ceiling, tiled flooring, cabling for a speaker system, and views onto the garden. The ground-floor accommodation is completed with a cloakroom or utility.
The property has two staircases, which lead to two double bedrooms, both with vaulted ceilings, which give a light and airy feel to both rooms. An internal landing leads to the third bedroom and a large family bathroom with double wash-hand basins.
The Sweat Lodge is a purification ceremony; it relieves stress, cleanses toxins from the body, provides a cure for illness, releases negativity, and revitalizes the life force energy. More importantly, it helps to remove spiritual obstacles obstructing one’s path. The lodge is also responsible for expelling the cold and harmful winds from the body and reinstating warm and vital energy.
Josephine took her teacher training with The Yoga People. She started to regain her own inner strength and she now does what she loves for a living teaching all around London and Denmark. Her style draws strongly from her background but also infuses the yogic traditions of Ashtanga, Yin, Rocket, Kundalini, and Hatha. She uses the classical tradition of dance mixed with the principles of yoga in a free flowing way, allowing new shapes to take place, but also accepting and embracing what may be found.
On summer solstice this year, Roland completed his twentieth year as a Maya healer. He was born and raised in Kent and since early childhood, felt a strong calling to this path. While studying in Mexico City from 1992 to 1993, he began to explore the potential of indigenous medicines and spiritual practices of the country.
The retreat will be held at Heriots Croft, Twitton Lane, a mile from the center of the historic village of Otford, where there are a variety of small shops, historic houses, several pubs, and a restaurant. The nearest town is Sevenoaks, which is about four miles away, where one can find an excellent range of shops and restaurants.
