Join Jiva Healing this Easter at a wonderful new retreat venue in Kent. More and more research is showing the important role that stress-reduction plays with illness on many levels. This weekend retreat will teach you the importance of slowing down and relaxing, and what that can mean for digestion, assimilation, and energy levels.
The Dower House is a charming Grade II listed Elizabethan manor house nestled within its own expanse of private gardens at the heart of Knowlton Estate. Guests at the Dower House enjoy its secluded location within the woods and its magnificent views of the estate's extensive parkland. There are two lovely living areas; one with a lovely large open fireplace, high quality linens, private garden, central heating, and a dedicated yoga space with wooden floors, open beams underfloor heating. Another wonderful feature of the house is that almost all of the rooms are ensuite.
There are miles of lovely walks throughout the estate itself as well as the surrounding villages. A short ten minute drive takes you to the historic market town of Sandwich with its river, quay, golf courses and beach, and Sandwich Bay, from which you can follow the old Roman Road and walk along the coastal path to the seaside towns of Deal and Walmer.
In this weekend retreat, you will have the opportunity to take part in cooking classes that will help you to become more creative in the kitchen. You will learn how to create meals that will be healthy, satisfying, and fun to make. You will learn about macro-nutrient balance, times of the day for optimal digestion and assimilation, how stress affects digestion, and why it's important to relax while eating. You will learn about common allergens in foods and how to easily avoid them as well as effective ways of balancing blood sugar. All recipes will be vegetarian and dairy and gluten-free. Twice daily yoga classes will also be part of the program.

During this retreat, you will be provided with daily healthy meals and drinks. All recipes will be vegetarian and dairy and gluten-free. There will be creative cooking classes as well.
There will be a team of professional massage therapists on hand to give a variety of treatments, including foot reflexology, deep tissue massage, Thai massage, and organic facials. Please note that massages are not included in the price of the retreat.
