Had a great time at this place with my friends, just surfing and having some sun at the beach. Nice supermarket nearby and some good restaurants. Just relaxing! The location is good to have a car and it is a safe place.

It was my first hostel experience and it as gained a special place in my heart. The cozy and homely atmosphere, the great host that is Francisco, and an excellent cook , made me wanna come back a few more times, and hopefully will return again in the near future. The house is set in the middle of Praia da Luz, a wonderful and picturesque village located in the protected area of the Natural Park of the Costa Vicentina and one of the best things, it is a five minute walk to the beach. A great place to stay if you want to discover the unspoiled part of the Algarve. I really recommend it.

It was my first experience in a surf camp and i loved it! I was looking for a place with a nice surf camp spirit and that what i found in Jho'La! Francisco the owner of the place will make everything possible to guarantee that your stay is the best possible. Moreover he cooks very well which is a real plus in your stay. For the surf we went with José who was a really good teacher, always giving personal advice. You are in a group but feel like you have a personal lesson! We really had a blast. You meet new people in a very nice atmosphere. Just looking forward to come back to this little heaven!

If you're looking for the real surf camp experience, then don't hesitate go to Jho'La! This young surf camp has a great captain: Francisco. He renovated the all house in a nice surf camp spirit. The place is very cosy and we slept very well (and believe me you will need a good rest after surfing :-). About surfing, Francisco will film you once or twice during the week, and after dinner we all sit down in front of the TV to do video analysis about everyone’s mistakes, like the Pros! Then about the food, Francisco is a great cook. he makes excellent meals with local products. It was a very good surprise. (hope you will try his magic fish soup). We really had a blast. You meet new people in a very nice atmosphere. Go there and see by yourself.

I came for one week surf-vacation at the end of June. Staying at Jho'la was very lovely. It's a cozy family-style place that accommodates maximum 8 guests. Francisco is a very nice host and an amazing cook! Every dinner was different, but every time delicious. In the morning you are picked up by surf-van that brings you to the spot with the best conditions. The lessons are given by instructors of future-surfing school. It was my 4th time in Algarve and every time I was taking lessons with future-surf. Great place to stay with great surf experience! I will come back!

I stayed five days in the house of Francisco were wonderful. The apartments are build very colorful and individually an already submit a surf feeling and the atmosphere in the house - created by Francisco and all the people travelling along from everywhere - bringing and sharing a lot of funny and interesting stories. The food is very good and a mix of Portuguese and other good chosen menus. It is prepared from well chosen ingredients like the fruits from Portuguese places nearby. I'll appreciate coming back once with handful of friends. Thankful that there is such a place!

What a wonderful place to stay! The hostel has got everything you need - great, relaxing common area, tidy and quiet rooms with comfy beds, hammocks to chill out and a nice deck for breakfast or barbecue. It's a very enjoyable place with a lot of attention to detail and very inviting vibes! Francisco the owner, will do everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. He's also responsible for dinner, which is - amazing! He's a very friendly and helpful person and also gave me lots of good recommendations for my trip. I booked the surf camp twice now and always had an amazing time there! The guys from the surf school are much fun and really onto it! Luz itself is a relaxed and enjoyable small village. The beach is just a minute walk away from the hostel. You can also go to a lookout to see the sunrise (or just go later during the day :-) ), take a walk to the nearby beaches or go running along the cliffs. What's left to say - really enjoyed my stay and I can highly recommend that welcoming place!

We stayed for ten days at Jho´Las and Francisco is the best host you can imagine. He prepares you with awesome regional food, is always caring and, moreover, shares his surfing expertise with you. That makes it easy to immediately feel like home in this beautiful house near the beach. Thanks a lot for the great time, Francisco and see you soon!

I've been there five days, and I have to say you must try it. The surf camp is located only five meters driving from Lagos, a city with plenty of history, traditional restaurants and some nightlife. Learn to surf and discover the Algarve waves from the Levante. Francisco is very helpful and the house is cosy. It feels like home there! Thanks for the nice time! I'm sure I'll comeback.

Wow. Vacation at Jho'las is like being in surfers heaven. First step into the house was like coming home. Downstairs, it has three bedrooms and two bathrooms for eight people. Upstairs is a huge living room with couches, a dining table, and an amazing kitchen (sorry, it's an insider joke). The host Francisco, a real reliable person is very accommodating and also good in cooking. He will serve you very delicious Portuguese food in the evening. Breakfast and lunch is also included so you will start the day well prepared. Outside you find a big terrace and a few hammocks to relax after surfing. I stayed seven days with five times of surfing. Francisco cooperates with a surf school called future surfing school from Portimao. The surf instructor where very enthusiastic and real nice guys. Even Francisco can give you good surfing advices. The camp is close to the sea an a short walk to the nearest restaurants and bars. Luz also is a lovely village. What else can I say? It was really great and I hope to get back real soon.

Stayed at JHo'La for a week last september. Francisco is a very nice host! He picks you up from the train station if you want, cooks the best real Portugese food, and knows the best places to go. The house is very cosy and only half a minute away from the beach of Luz. In the morning, a van from the surf school picks you up to take you to the best surf spots. Francisco and the surf teachers know a lot about the region and will tell you everything you need and want to know.

I stayed at Jho'la Surf Camp for almost two weeks in september. The nice and cozy house makes you feel at home instantly. Feeling at home is great, but the host Francisco even makes you feel part of the surf camp family. The amazing food, great conversations, playing music, chilling at the hammocks, it all contributed to an amazing, relaxing holiday. Coming back is high on my wish list!

We were really lucky that we found this place. It was even better than we expected. A place where you feel like at home with best friends and it has all the surfing and ocean spirit. The host Francisco is not only an excellent cook, he is also an interesting storyteller and creates all the welcoming an friendly atmosphere for socializing. A typical day would start with a nice breakfast at the terrace with the view to the ocean and the flowers around. Then the guys from the Future Surf Camp would pick us up around 09:00 and take us to the surf location. Not all surf locations had restaurants and we didn't have time for that either so our lunch packs were very helpful. In the evening after the tiring surfing day we could relax in the hammocks, play numerous instruments like ukulele or the guitar which were serving as a decoration in the living room, then have an amazing dinner prepared by Francisco.

Fantastic place! The house is really cozy and clean. The host is an amazing cook and you can have dinner there with the surf mates you'll meet during your stay. But the best has yet to come - the surf lessons were simply amazing! All the instructors are really professional and passionate, in a very short time you can learn all the basics and start to really enjoy this sport. Can't wait to visit Algarve and Jho'La camp again!
