Jeevmoksha Yoga Gurukul Ashram in Rishikesh, India offers its students a very clean and natural design of accommodation. The location gives a serene impression of being in the nature with a lot of natural ambiance in the backdrop of the campus so as to keep the stay conducive for yoga training. Students are provided with rooms with attached facility of bathrooms.

Each room is equipped with a double sized bed, hot water facility, and an open terrace in front to spend those free hours while contemplating on Himalayas, or on your subjects of practice without any distractions from around. Linen and bedding are changed and washed regularly in order to maintain the hygiene of stay and rooms are also cleaned on a regular basis. At the same time all the students are expected to maintain the conduct of keeping the area clean by not letting any wastes to be dropped or left around and using bins which are provided.

Upon completion of this yoga teacher training, students will receive certificate affiliated with Yoga Alliance. Registration with Yoga Alliance provides a globally recognized credential.

The 500 hours yoga teacher training at Jeevmoksha has been designed to strengthen the yogic conditioning in students while letting them merge into the classical system of learning and practice. The course includes detailed study of concepts of yoga and learning correct methodology of teaching asanas, pranayama, dharana, and dhyaan. You will explore the new dimensions within your existing level of practice of these aspects of yoga while learning others, and will be encouraged to transform into an experienced yoga teacher along with earning your credentials at 500 hours level with Yoga Alliance USA.

During this teacher training you will have regular interaction with masters from the discipline of yoga, Ayurveda, astrology, Vedanta, and life sciences to know more about the integral approach of yoga and allied sciences, broadening perception about these holistic ways of living and growing.

Yagya or holy fire ceremony will give you the opportunity to learn sacrificing the false ego and cultivating samskaras of compassion and harmony with the whole universe.

Satsang, silent meditation, chanting, and a talk or reading on the philosophy of yoga and Vedanta helps to develop a strong and steady state of mind very useful in practical life situations of arousal and aggression.

Yoga teacher training syllabus

  • Active group discussion, presentations, and question answer sessions.
  • Human anatomy and physiology explained in correlation to the practices of yoga vis-a-vis asanas, pranayama, shatkarmas, and meditation.
  • Identification of individual personality types and modifications in yoga according to the same so as to procure maximum benefits out of the practice.
  • Importance of diet and inclusions of a yogic diet suitable from physiological, mental, and spiritual perspective.
  • Mantra chants and kirtans will be an integral part of the routine.
  • Teaching methodology and concepts of class design and conduction. Principles of adjustments and modifications on anatomical plains in asanas so as to initiate the yoga vritti while practicing. Students will be conducting their own classes from the fourth week of the course.
  • Understanding of the Vedanta system and its evolution of personality.
  • In depth study of yoga philosophy. Study of Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Hatha yoga Pradeepika, Swar yoga, and Bhagwad Geeta to bring alive the philosophy of yoga in your lives and classes.

Daily schedule

The program follows a routine which involves around seven hours each day of training under the presence of a teacher. Apart from that, extra hours are utilized for self-study and completing homework which is an essential part of learning system to make the knowledge more integrated into your minds. The day begins at 5:30 a.m. which is the wake up time. Morning practice of mantras, asanas, and pranayama will be followed by breakfast and then lectures on various aspects of yoga including philosophy and anatomy. Lunch is followed by some rest hours where students can engage in self study and completing the assignments. After the evening routine of practice dinner commences from 7:30 p.m. and students are encouraged to sleep early as it is needed to get proper rest in the hectic schedule.

Daily guidelines

  • Admission to the course can be cancelled any time on non-conduct of required academic and ethical behavior.
  • Evaluation procedure involves homework, weekly assignments, and final exam.
  • Moments of silence for three times a week from 9:00 to 10:00 p.m.
  • Outings are not permitted except other than the scheduled and any else on your day off.
  • Students are required to attend all classes other than any health reasons.
  • Students must be spending enough time in introversion and self-contemplation in order to gain maximum out of the course.
  • The schedule is subject to change based upon local and whether conditions. The sole right is reserved with the course director.

Included excursions

You will visit the ancient Vashishta Guha (cave) as a part of the curriculum to experience a real contemplative awareness and meditation. This place is a calm and extremely energetic abode for all seekers who want to spend time in solitude looking into themselves. A small ashram located in the midst of Himalayas along the river Ganga.

Nature walks and treks are a regular feature of program where students are exposed to nearby places of serenity and peace. Guided tours are organized to the places like Kunjapuri and Kaudiyala to get a glimpse of Himalayan natural landscape and beauty.


Acharya Vinay
Acharya Vinay was born into a Brahmin family where yoga was a household virtue and his grandfather passed his legacy to his father in form of traditional values of yoga, astrology, and dharma. He started studying the scriptures on Veda, Upanishads, and yoga under his father at the early age of 12. He was driven onto this sacred path of acquiring the yogic knowledge under his father. By family lines acharya is a disciple of the ancient Sri Vidya tradition of Tantra. It’s the oldest followed sect in India which is established on the principles of Shakti and her attributes.
Umesh Ji conducts the Vinyasa sessions at Jeevmoksha Yoga Gurukul. He started practicing yoga 10 years ago and since then, he has tried to incorporate the core values into his lifestyle and not just keeping it limited to the physical practices. He is a simple in heart person who loves to share his knowledge and experience with everyone willing. His style of teaching is gentle but strong and he enjoys his lessons while trying to involve each and every student in the stream. He has taught on a multitude of platforms from resorts in India to yoga studios in Russia and has considerable experience.
Margurite is a fellow Yogini from United States of America with her medical degree in clinical psychology and a huge practice experience in the field. She is providing her valuable guidance and knowledge in terms of designing and delivering the anatomical and physiological concepts while maintaining the authenticity of the information therefore being forwarded to the students yoga teacher training course India. She has devoted his entire life to study the literary aspect of yoga and impart the teachings of traditional yoga and Indian philosophy to younger generation in a very simple way.
Divya is a post graduate of Yogic Sciences from Sanskrit University of Uttarakhand. She focuses on women’s health by incorporating the techniques of asanas, pranayama, mantras, and light meditations. She conducts yoga classes for prenatal and postnatal conditions for women with a very gentle and simple approach, and most of her lessons are a direct outcome of her own personal experience of the stages of pregnancy and the later recovery periods. She also conducts live cooking classes and demos on yogic cuisine.
Kalpendra is a senior pranayama and meditation teacher sharing his experience at Jeevmoksha Yoga Gurukul. He did his post graduation in Yogic Sciences from Yoga University of Haridwar and specializes in teaching the breath work techniques and meditation. Kalpendra had the opportunity of being in company with some experts on pranayama from the Himalayan tradition and drink the nectar of this beautiful art. He has been teaching since last seven years in different parts of the country. Currently he is teaching external and internal breathing techniques of Hatha yoga teacher training course

You will be served three vegetarian meals a day as part of the package price. Meals are prepared in a very natural and yogic manner while promoting the use of seasonal legumes, vegetables, and fruits and avoiding all the artificially prepared edibles. As the local conditions might be different from other places, students might find a couple of dishes on the menu unfamiliar. Jeevmoksha Yoga Gurukul does its best to prepare the food with utmost devotion and love which could cater the needs of nourishment of all the layers of your personality.

As the Upanishads declare, food is god, “Annam Brahma”, Jeevmoksha also tries to follow the same principle of a diet which is comprehensive in terms of nutrition.
