Over the course of the 10-days, we have invited several musical masters to come and share their art and create workshops with us. It is a privilege to have access to such powerful channels of creation and an amazing opportunity to learn from those who have mastered their arts. Whether you are an experienced musician, an aspiring artist, or a curious beginner, we guarantee you will learn and grow tremendously. Our musical program consists of the following:
We will provide a safe space for you to feel comfortable connecting with your own voice and freely expressing yourself musically. Anyone can sing, and everyone has a rhythm. Studies have shown that music therapy can be more effective to reduce anxiety than prescription drugs. This journey will open you up to all the beautiful tools you have within to connect to your higher self. We encourage collaboration with your fellow retreat guests, and there will be many opportunities to share, during the ceremony and at your final public Kirtan at the end of the course.
Our intention and desire for "Jeela" mystical music retreat is to gather in community and find the connection to our higher self and fellow participants. This may unfold in many ways, through music, yoga, meditation, plant medicine, ceremonies, inner realizations, or simply a reflective conversation around the bonfire. We have all experienced some degree of isolation and separation in the current state of the world. This is not natural nor healthy to you as humans as touch, play and interactions are crucial for your wellbeing. Your hosts have been extremely fortunate during this global crisis, by creatively expanding in the community.
With our full hearts, we feel called upon to share this abundance with you, to serve, and to guide you. During these 10-days, we trust that you will arrive at a space where you feel the richness of your inner being and feel inspired to bring this vibration back to your local community. Leave feeling confident as an artist, healer, and space holder. We invite you to open your hearts, lett go of the mind, and immerse yourself fully into this experience together.
We offer several ceremonies throughout the retreat, including Ayahuasca, Kirtan, cacao, and Temazcal, all facilitated by highly experienced space holders. These rituals can be powerful and life-changing moments. Throughout each of these ceremonies, you will have the opportunity to not only participate and receive but also to actively share. By sharing, you can challenge and change negative mind patterns, show courage, be vulnerable, and access personal freedom. How do you prepare for the ceremonies?
Following your dietary advice and food plan in preparation for your retreat helps to lay the groundwork for the medicine experience. By changing your habits, you show commitment to your healing, prepare your body, and demonstrate respect for the process. It also detoxifies your body allowing it to receive the medicine more gently. In general, they encourage you to eat whole foods preferably from an organic source with moderate to low levels of salt, sugar, and fat. Avoid the use of alcohol, recreational drugs, and caffeine.
Refrain from sexual activity and any other habits that you may use as a distraction. Quit unnecessary medications and completely avoid the use of any antidepressants. Consult your medical doctor and the team if you are unsure of how to prepare and eliminate medications. The purpose of the diet and preparations is to create an environment for your body and mind that gives the medicine a less obstructive path to illuminate and work with the areas that need healing. Setting an intention is fundamental to prepare for your experience.
In general, it is good to ask yourself what you want out of the medicine but to let go of any expectations. It is important to surrender to the process and trust that whatever is meant to happen is always perfectly aligned with your healing process and higher manifestations. Approach it with a humble heart, clear intention, and open mind and you will receive the right teachings. You will be in a very safe environment and taken care of by an experienced team.
Before the night of drinking ayahuasca, you will have had plenty of opportunities to connect with space, the participants, the shamans, and the music. We want you to feel safe and comfortable, and if you at any point decide against participating in the plant medicine ceremony, we will refund the money for that activity.
Practicing yoga has tremendous benefits to your physical and mental health. It is known to ease stress and promote relaxation. Several studies show yoga’s ability to decrease cortisol levels, the primary stress hormone. It can help you cope with anxiety and depressive thoughts. On a physical level, yoga may reduce inflammation in the body, improve heart health and chronic pain. Yoga practitioners are reporting an overall heightened life quality and an increased awareness of body, mind, and spirit.
Your team at Jeela is very passionate about the benefits of having a daily yoga practice and is eager to share their knowledge with you. Each morning begins with a two-hour meditation, pranayama, and asana practice. You will be guided through the sequence by your experienced yoga teacher, Xochil. Your hosts, Renee and Josh, will give you adjustments during the physical practice making sure you are performing the postures right, keep the correct alignment, and go deep into the practice. Whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced yogi, you will benefit a lot from your classes.

They encourage light intermittent fasting during your stay by serving your first meal at 9:30 a.m. and your last one at 5:30 p.m., leaving a window for the body to rest and recover for 15 hours. Cancún International Airport
Transfer not provided
Please book your flight to arrive at Cancún International Airport (CUN). It is a very well connected airport, and usually has an easy welcoming process for travelers from most countries with a six-month visa on arrival. From the airport, you will have to take a taxi to the accommodation. It is a 45-minute, very comfortable, and safe ride. Tell the taxi driver you want to go to 'km 32 on Ruta De Los Cenotes' near 'Cenote Popol Vuh'.
On the main road, look for a big gate that says 'Madre Tierra' on your right side. Enter through this gate and it will be the second brown gate in about 200 meters on your left-hand side. The Google maps pin is very precise but keep your eyes peeled as the gate comes up fast and the cars tend to drive fast. Note that there is very limited phone service in the area so please inform JEELA CO well in advance of any unforeseen delays.
For this organizer you can guarantee your booking through BookYogaRetreats.com. All major credit cards supported.
