Join Jane Damer Yoga on this yoga retreat at Eagle Rock, a five-star eco-lodge in Scotland, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Over five days of activities, you can do as little or as much as you'd like to. Walk, swim, read, rest, cycle - whatever takes your fancy.
Eagle Rock is a five-star eco-lodge sleeping a maximum of 12 people in wonderfully comfortable twin, triple, or double rooms, most with ensuite. Two rooms share a private bathroom.
The house is open plan, with many spaces to enjoy, including a large kitchen area, a skylit dining area with huge sliding windows, a panoramic view living room area with many windows, and a library cave with a woodburning stove.
For this weekend, classes will take place in the house in a beautiful light space. There are outstanding views out to the islands and inviting outdoor experiences and other spaces to enjoy, like a large deck, a hot tub, and a firepit.
All bedrooms are upstairs except one. There are five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a stunning kitchen, a large dining space, and an open-plan lounge with huge windows leading into a cozy living room filled with books, games, and television for watching films should you wish too.
Eagle Rock is a venue that delivers something special at any time of year, whether it is star-filled skies by the firepit, stormy or calm seas, and space for you.
You can practice yoga with an experienced, supportive teacher while enjoying the vast wilderness and views of the Isles of Raasay and the Isle of Skye. The yoga retreat will be ideal for any level, with plenty of options for hiking, biking, swimming, or perhaps just curling up in a cozy nook with a book and resting as you steadily move toward the darker months.
This will be your vista as the sun sets in autumn this year for a week of yoga practices, shared spaces, private nooks, hot or cold dips, and the ever-present, refreshing wilderness.
There will be plenty of opportunities to hike, bike, or do very little. This will be a time for changing pace and taking some constructive rest. You will be guided and supported by Jane Damer Yoga through a slower, incremental, thoughtful practice that is suitable for all levels.
Jane Damer Yoga continues to refine its teaching with an approach that nods to traditions yet with modern insights.
Morning classes will include mobilizing, leading to sun salutation, standings, seated, and supine. You can expect a fun class with some challenges, but also plenty of options to suit all levels of practitioners. You will start with a short meditation and end with relaxation. Afternoon classes will focus on a more restful, restorative, and gentler practice with pranayama.
First introduced to yoga by a teacher whilst at secondary school in the 1980s, Jane continued to attend classes for many years thereafter until her interest deepened. This led to the completion of a foundation course in 2004 followed by a 500-hour teacher training course in 2009 and teaching ever since has felt like a natural and enjoyable progression. Jane has a lively sense of humor and delivers classes in a very approachable, down-to-earth manner.
The retreat will take place in Milton, a remote part of Scotland, United Kingdom. Eagle Rock Applecross is a very special, luxurious, coastal, wholesome, and spacious venue. You'll have ever-changing views to dwell on for hours on end.
It is a special place to share with yourself, a fantastic venue for the active yogi with plenty of opportunities for hiking, biking, wild swimming, kayaking, or simply relaxing with a book in a cozy nook.
During this retreat, you will be served all breakfasts or brunches, six dinners, and drinks (tea and coffee) included in the price. All meals will be hearty, healthy, and served buffet-style by the wonderful in-house cook Gerry. Jane Damer Yoga will serve fish but can also cater for vegans or veggies.
Please let them know about any food intolerances upon booking. Eagle Rock is a remote venue and although there is a local shop, it does not sell gluten-free or vegan products so they will need to order in advance.
