With 300 volcanoes, many areas of the island seem to be bizarre and otherworldly. The island is dotted with tiny, rural, white villages, such as the lovely Haria in the North with its square where they serve great coffee, smoothies, and tapas!
Geological delights such as this bright green lagoon alongside rolling Atlantic Ocean, with red and black sand in between and The Geyser in the Fire Mountain National Park are also located just 15 minutes from the center.
The small island of Graciosa, a stunningly beautiful tiny island is very close by and you could visit it by ferry, or take a catamaran tour around it. With beautiful beaches and surely one of the few places without asphalt in Europe!
