"perfect for a relaxing weekend"

The location is great, walking distance to the seaside, plenty of opportunities for walks and runs, plenty of places to eat and drink. A lovely little town and really good yoga instructors. The only thing I would change is more yoga :)

"wonderful experience!"

Everything was amazing: the studio is lovely and you start to relax immediately. The practices I joined were more the relaxter ones (as I was looking for). I stayed in Hotel The ELizabeth what was a wonderful experience aswell as the staff was incredebly nice. Originally I booked a room with seaview via yogaretreat but I just had a room with side view. But asking at the reception they offered me diffenrent wonderful rooms to choose (of course I had to pay a little bit more for the upgrade). Surely that was an option as I travelled in Feburary - total Off-season.

Sidmouth is wonderful with cozy little cafes and restaurants. The landscape is just breathtaking.

"My Yoga Retreat "

"A perfect mini-break set aside for myself"

Beautiful location with the hotel situated right on the esplanade and Jala Flow studio a short walk into town.

I am new to yoga and I found the classes were well taught with a gentle, understanding approach. All the instructors were very friendly and explained how the various positions were beneficial to us. I felt the studio was filled with a positive vibe which enabled me to unwind and be mindful during my practice. I feel this would be a great introduction for others wanting to learn more about yoga, Im now looking forward to learning more :)

The hotel staff were very welcoming and the food was amazing there. Thank you!

"Pleasant and welcoming"

There were a range of classes that I attended during my stay which provided variety and a chance to experience styles I hadn't worked with before. The guesthouse was welcoming, quiet and comfortable; the breakfast a delight.

"Highly recommended for all "

I was very pleased with the B and B they booked me into. It was a nice room and the owners were really nice and provided a great breakfast. I enjoyed the variety of yoga classes offered and the hydrotherapy session. There was also a practitioner who did reiki and sound healing which l LOVED. I had a session every day l was there. You should definitely book Wendy!

"Yoga retreat"

I really liked the flexibility of the retreat. The fact that you could dip in and out of the yoga classes. The variety of yoga available meant I could try yoga that I had not practiced before.

"Knowledgeable instructors and a variety of yoga types to try"

There is a variety of different yoga practices to try, very friendly classes (you’ll be joining locals and regulars for the practices) and knowledgeable instructors. Practices take place just a few moments walk from the hotel. You can arrive for your retreat at anytime and join whatever classes you like. Beautiful studios.

The Ayurvedic treatment at Seabrease was wonderful and you get a 10% discount through Jala Flow. The use of the hydra-therapy pool and sauna was lovely. Everyone at the hotels and salons were very friendly and I felt ‘looked after’. It’s a great retreat if you don’t want everything and everyone under the same roof and you want more control over your own itinary.

"3 day yoga holiday"

Very good variety of classes. Everyone lovely, yoga teachers, other students, felt very at ease / at peace. Flexibility of joining in preferred classes, and good availability. B&B great, lesley and ron excellent hosts. Much enjoyed the spa included with the package, paid extra for a brilliant massage. Highly recommend, will definitely revisit sidmouth and most likely take a class.

"Perfect yoga retreat "

Tom and Louise were excellent yoga instructors with a warm and friendly approach supporting all students. The variety of yoga ranges from Hatha, yin, restorative, and kundalini and you can attend all classes if you so wish. The yoga studio was a clean and calming environment. The classes were timed very well in the morning and early evening, allowing time in the day to explore in and around beautiful Sidmouth . The coastal walks were exhilarating with picturesque views. Included in the package was a spa session which was perfect on my last day to soothe aching muscles.

I absolutely loved, loved this retreat and will definitely be recommending to all my yogi buddies. Am already planning to return in a couple of months. 😁😍.

Guesthouse was great too and hosts Lesley and Rod were lovely.

"Worth it"

"Wonderful time away "

Was a brilliant and well organised trip. Louise and Tom were excellent teachers and I got something from every class I attended. The location was fantastic with lots of great walks and the town of Sidmouth has lots of lovely shops and cafes. When I arrived I went straight to the spa that had been booked and it was fantastic. Great facilities and very quiet (the time of year I’m sure helped).

"Everything I could wish for a restorative retreat"

Louise and Tom made me feel so welcome at their studio with all the information I needed for my stay. The studio is a lovely calm space- smaller than my usual studio at home, and so more of an intimate feel. It never felt cramped and I could always follow the instructions - which were often enhanced by additional really helpful pointers that made a real difference. Can't speak highly enough of Jala Flow.

"A relaxing retreat with superb yoga instruction"

I attended 1 yin, 2 Hatha and 1 Pilates class given by Tom and Louise in a perfect location. I could have attended lots more but wanted to take it easy as not very experienced. Classes were quite challenging for me but very enjoyable. Clear and professional instruction focusing on getting in the correct positions. They really know their stuff. I really enjoyed it and wish I lived closer. It felt very friendly and mainly attended by local people I assume.

Only 5 minutes walk from Dukes hotel on the sea front. Hotel was lovely, clean and newly decorated. I was even upgraded to room 3, a spacious family room with a sea view. Food choice was good and service was excellent mainly a young team of staff. There seemed to be lots of people coming in from outside the hotel to eat so that’s a good sign. They were also very accommodating to people’s requests for things that were not on the menu.

Sidmouth was a very pleasant location and Beer is worthwhile a visit on a nice day.

I feel much more enthused to continue and advance in yoga.

"Fantastic autumn break"

The hotel was easy to find and the parking straightforward. My sister and I had a spacious comfortable room. The hotel staff were always helpful and friendly. We only had time for 2 yoga sessions, yet each time we felt included and nurtured. It was a total break away from our usual activities and we would certainly do it again.

"Relaxing and peaceful"

I liked the whole experience.

The accommodation was fantastic. Lesley and Rod are really good hosts and made me feel very welcome. The yoga just topped it off. Training as a teacher in ashtanga it was great to step away from my repetitive exam sequence and experience different styles and many interesting cues I could use myself. For my personal practise it was a good boost. I could let go and be.,even with a cold on the last day. I will certainly return and maybe stay a bit longer!!!

"Jala yoga retreat "

The jala yoga studio was lovely and the classes were great. The location of sidmouth was nice as it is quite peaceful. The instructors were lovely. The restaurant at the Elizabeth was clear and well presented. The breakfast was good with a wide range for vegans and vegetarian.

"Great yoga facilities and classes and a nice little town."

The one yoga class I did attend was good. The first guesthouse I stayed at (Glendevon) was run by really friendly people. The spa facilities were pretty good and everyone was very accommodating.

"The perfect break away "

I loved the variety of classes available and the welcoming atmosphere provided by Louise and Tom. They provided a lovely welcome pack with information on local walks etc, which was very thoughtful. The guesthouse was fantastic, very hospitable hosts with a great breakfast to start each day off perfectly. I would thoroughly recommend to anyone of any yoga ability, as there really is something for everyone available, and Tom and Louise were wonderful instructors

"Yoga with the sounds of seagulls "

Sidmouth is a small, quiet seaside town on the south coast of Devon. I stayed at the Hotel Elizabeth on the esplanade overlooking the English Channel. Fortunately, the weather was pleasant though a bit chilly. Everyone was wrapped up. I enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and the surrounding countryside. The population of Sidmouth, locals and tourists appeared to be mainly older folks whose demeanor was a bit like the weather. This environment provided an opportunity for slowing down and exploring personal elements of yoga practice like listening and accepting. The hosts, Louise and Tom, are energetic, knowledgeable and passionate instructors who integrate the retreat experience within their studio schedule. This consists of a mix of offerings from restorative and Yin to vinyasa and Ashtanga (of which Louise is an enthusiastic proponent). The studio is well appointed with all of the props and space for an enjoyable yoga experience. During the quiet times, I was particularly drawn to the sounds of the seagulls.

"Lovely get away"

The food in the hotel was lovely, the WiFi actually worked which is a miracle. A lot of large hotels I’ve been to in London for example, the internet is restricted to only browser use but I’m glad Sidmouth is in the 21st century. The yoga classes were wonderfully chilled out and really well lead, just what I needed. Lots of classes throughout the day to try, so you can schedule your day around them. Excellent area for all useful things you may need, can walk everywhere in Sidmouth. I really recommend the hydra pool spa time with a treatment, and Seabrease beauty is really good too. Overall I had a lovely time for a much needed time to chill out :)

"I cannot recommend this enough!"

Overall, this was the perfect yoga retreat. Beautiful location with lots of lovely walks nearby, a very comfortable hotel with lovely staff (The Hotel Elizabeth) and of course, amazing yoga. There was a range of yoga classes so I got to try a few different styles, including Vinyasa, Iyengar, Hatha and Kundalini. Tom and Louise made me feel right at home and were very helpful both in classes and outside, providing lots of helpful information on the local area. I felt very supported and encouraged in my yoga practice. It was the perfect mix of time in classes and also time in the day to explore this beautiful part of the world. If you need a relaxing break, definitely do this! The Hotel was lovely, great food and excellent value for money. And having a sea view and being able to fall asleep listening to the waves was just perfect :)

I really enjoyed my stay both in terms of the accommodation and the yoga classes. The classes were a balanced mix of restorative and more fast paced yoga. I liked the instructors, Louise and Tom were very attentive and competent. Sidmouth is a quiet town at the sea, a lovely place to relax. It's also a great place for coastal walks, very scenic. I will recommend this retreat to friends and would come back myself.
