For some it is less important, for others more but their extra weight brings insecurity in all cases and through that dissatisfaction and unhappiness in life. With a retreat at our ashram, two or more weeks of daily walks and yoga practice, a light and tasty Ayurvedic diet and Ayurvedic massages for detoxification! The ashram is very open, friendly and hospitable. The rooms are spacious, fully air-conditioned and have bathroom and shower facilities. There is also a beautiful lawn and patio. Any interested visitor to India is welcome to visit and stay at the ashram.
We are not promising any miracles, which is why we have kept a minimum participation time of two weeks. If you stick to the food plan and exercise presented, you will see a result and you will additionally have the knowledge and practical experience how you can continue losing weight or maintain your dream figure. What we have in mind for you is not weeks of torture and you will not get anywhere near starving. You will be in a beautiful place, enjoying exercise and tasty food. You will not have a grumbling, hungry stomach and although you may feel your muscles a bit more than usually, you will feel great about it and instead of feeling weak; you will feel stronger than before. You will daily get two hours of intensive yoga for weight loss which will especially focus on all your problem areas. You want to reduce belly fat? Tone your thighs? Shape your hips or get slimmer upper arms? In these workout hours you will get to know which exercises are a massive attack on your extra fat and which ones bring out the muscles exactly where you want to have them. The best thing about yoga is: it is fun, wholesome exercise and you will enjoy feeling and seeing the effect of what you are doing!
While you are at the ashram, you will start every day with a beautiful morning walk around the town. Our ashram is directly situated at the Parikrama Marg, a popular pilgrimage way of approximately ten kilometers which leads once around the whole town. Even if you now think that ten kilometers is far too much and you wont be able to do that for weeks, dont worry! You wont even notice that you are walking this distance while you are passing by Vrindavans many different areas! Ancient temples and modern housing areas, mansions of the rich and straw houses of the poor, crossing busy roads and walking by the river Yamuna - so much to see and to experience that you wont even have time to get exhausted!
In 1995 Swami ji founded an ashram in his hometown Vrindavan. On this land he built an underground cave, which he entered in 1997 to spend the following three years and 108 days in meditation. Today the ashram is home not only to him and his family but also to a number of students between the age of 8 and 20. They come from poor families who cannot afford their living or education and they thus become part of the Ashram family. They live at the Ashram which means that their families are free of this financial pressure. Additionally the students learn and grow in a positive, loving and spiritual environment.
They go to the Swami Balendu e.V. Kindergarten and Primary School right next to the building of the cave in the Ashram. The School and the Kindergarten were opened to provide education to children of poor families of Vrindavan. You can help the Ashram helping these children if you sponsor a child or the food for a day

Apart from exercising, the second focus when wanting to lose weight is always on nutrition. While many diets still recommend reducing the food intake to a minimum, it has even reached the mainstream dieter that it is better to change your nutrition completely than starving yourself for a few weeks until you are thin and then enjoy your regular food and watch the yoyo-effect set in. Thats how a lot of diets suggest changing what you eat completely and thats what we are going to do with your diet, too! You will get healthy, Ayurvedic food as it is prepared in the Ashram kitchen every day just with the focus on using little to no fat and sugar. Practically this means that you will get to experience an authentic Ayurvedic diet, which serves its original purpose,to feed the body with everything it needs without overfeeding it. And the best thing is, it tastes great!
Visitors are free to spend their time as they please. You may wish to sit in the peace and tranquility of the ashram and enjoy the wonderful energy. You can also visit Swami jis cave, where he spent over three and half years in mantra meditation. Here you can experience very high loving vibration and absorb its healing qualities.
You may also like to visit some of Vrindavans many temples, other Indian ashrams or markets. Delicious meals are served and shared in a very loving way at the ashram.
You will receive an Ayurvedic massage every second day during your time with us. This may seem to you just like a special treat and it definitely is nice to get massaged, especially after a good yoga workout. There is more benefit to get from it though!
With the help of herbs, the oil that is being used causes heat in the tissues of your skin and stimulates the burning of fat. Additionally, the massage helps cleaning the body. When you lose weight, toxins are set free and they leave the body through the skin. With the help of herbal oils and the rubbing massage, you are freed of these toxins. On top of it you will receive an Ayurvedic steam treatment after your massage, if your body type allows, to further support the burning of fat.
