Touchdown in Puerto Vallarta, grab your bags, go through customs, and get greeted by our driver who will whisk us to the water taxi. Push off the dock and begin to explore. On the 40-minute cruise, you may be welcomed by whales, dolphin, sea turtles, and manta ray. Once we pull into the river valley of Yelapa's cove, its spirit will hit you in the sweetest way.
Hotel Lagunita stands on the left side of the beach, while the village sits on the far right side of the bay. Using locally sourced rock, stone, brick, and bamboo, the hotel, pool, and paths are artistically aligned with the tropical flowers and palms that surround our oasis. The rooms are spacious, colorful, offer private bathrooms, and electricity. Our oceanfront paradise sits on the ocean's edge. Soothe your soul with the rhythm of the waves, fresh foods, and step into the space of connection between breath and body.
Upon arrival at Hotel Lagunita, participants will get their room assignments, settle in, and the group will meet for orientation and dinner. Seven days of yoga begins on Sunday morning and concludes with the morning practice on Saturday.
The group will hike up the river valley to a local waterfall on Wednesday. This is the only time they will venture away from the ocean. There are fisherman for hire should they want to take a fishing or pleasure trip. Otherwise their time would be spent on the beach, in the sun or shade, doing art work, reading, and exploring.
Thanks to the diversity of a liberal arts education, in 1997, Jennifer discovered Iyengar yoga in college. Jennifer has received teacher-training certificates from Kim King-Zamoff (2002), Kathleen Hunt of Samadhi Yoga (2006), Shiva Rea’s Prana Flow (2004-2009), Next Generation Yoga for Children (2012), Bernie Clark’s Yin Yoga (2015), and is inspired by Andrey Lappa’s Universal Yoga.
This retreat will take place in Yelapa, Mexico.
The food at Hotel Lagunita is fantastic. Breakfast begins after yoga, just order what you want off the menu. During the free afternoons, simply order lunch when you're hungry. For dinner, there will be a large green salad and the option of three entrees. Vegan, gluten-free, vegetarian, and allergies are honored.
Free time is spent on the beach, swimming, receiving massage, reading, napping or exploring.
