Join this wonderful retreat that offers to experience the opportunity to get away from being a human doing and spend some time as a human being relaxing at a beautiful destination in France. Practice rejuvenating yoga sessions, enjoy nourishing meals, and connect with nature surrounded by plenty of laughs and fun throughout the week. Overall, this is a chance to reconnect with yourself and recharge your batteries.
During this retreat, you will stay either in a private or a shared room. Les Passeroses is a beautiful old farm house which has been renovated to create boutique accommodation and a fabulous yoga studio. They have been careful to retain the original features of the "Charentaise longere" or longhouse.
Built solidly out of local stone and oak, its hugely thick walls protect against the heat of high summer, keeping the interiors cool. All rooms in the house have floors of oak or handmade terracotta with many featuring exposed beams, original stone window sinks, or fireplaces. The house also has a guest kitchen and a dining room, which is open all day and night.
The spacious guest salon leads onto the dining terrace and in the cooler months, it provides a quiet place to read a book next to the new wood burning stove while in the summer you can take advantage of its thick stone walls to escape from the heat.
The bedrooms are simply, yet stylishly furnished and have quality beds, mattresses, linen, super soft towels, a hairdryer, a pool towel, and organic and eco-friendly hand wash, body wash, and shampoo.
Les Passeroses has three rooms for guests who prefer space to themselves. Two rooms accommodate wither two twin beds or a king-sized bed. The largest room is spacious enough to accommodate three guests, and finally, there is a lovely twin room with stone dove-cote windows. All guest rooms in the house have en-suite, private, modern shower rooms, except for two sharing a closely situated shower room.
During this retreat, you will enjoy one morning yoga session and one afternoon practice. Les Passeroses has a fabulous yoga studio which is well equipped with good quality mats, blocks, blankets, and chairs. The classes will include asana (postures), pranayama (breathing practices), meditation, chanting, and relaxation. Yoga philosophy will be weaved into the classes as you will work around a focused theme.
It doesn’t matter whether you have never been on a mat before or you are an experienced yogi, there will be options for all levels. If you are a yoga teacher, you may even find that you can use some hours towards your continuing professional development. The morning practice will use asana to stretch and wake up the body. There will also be a pranayama practice which you will continue to develop throughout the week.
You will always end the practice with a relaxation to allow everything to settle. The evening practice will be more restorative and include different forms of meditation. The nice thing about being away for the week is that you will also have plenty of time to experience and explore and your body.
Please note that on Wednesday you will go out to a local town after lunch. There will be no afternoon yoga class that day and you will eat out in the evening.

British Wheel of Yoga (Yoga)
Jackie, born in Yorkshire, moved to London at 22 years old. She came to yoga with a very stiff body, but found the journey fascinating. She signed up for a teacher training course because she wanted to know more about yoga. Thus, she completed her yoga teacher training diploma with the British Wheel of Yoga in 2007. Jackie, who has practiced various styles of yoga, believes yoga is about building body strength and flexibility, but more importantly, it’s about having strength and flexibility when approaching life.
This retreat will be held at Les Passeroses in Charente, France. The Charente region is located in the south west side of France and it's a very rural location surrounded mainly by farms.

During this retreat, you will be served three daily delicious meals except for the dinner on Wednesday. All meals at Les Passeroses are vegetarian. The food is lovingly prepared and locally sourced. For breakfast, you will be served fresh fruits, cereals, homemade yogurt, homemade bread, toast, and jams.
The lunch will be substantial, usually with a soup or salad to start and the dinner will be three-course style. You will have always fresh and dried fruit available in the kitchen and tea and coffee making facilities which you can help yourself to at any time.
During your free time, you may relax at the villa reading a book or take a swim in the pool. Les Passeroses feels like miles away from anywhere and is set in beautiful rolling countryside. If you like walking, there are plenty of walks around the area.
Please book your flight to arrive at Bordeaux-Mrignac Airport (BOD). Other options are Bergerac Dordogne Prigord Airport (EGC), Limoges-Bellegarde Airport (LIG), Poitiers-Biard Airport (PIS), and La Rochelle-le de R Airport (LRH). Transfers from and to the airport can be arranged on request for an additional cost.
The travel will take about six hours including the change from London to Angouleme which is a local TGV station.
From United Kingdom, it is very easy to connect to Les Passeroses from London's St Pancras Station by taking the Eurostar and changing once in Lille or Paris, Lille is easier.
From Europe, Angouleme is a stop on the main TGV line between Paris and Bordeaux. You can connect easily from central and northern European countries to Paris and change to Angouleme, the journey takes about two hours.
