The practice of yoga is an ideal way to balance the stresses of modern day living, helping you stay healthy and young in body, mind, and spirit. Yoga nourishes the organic body through the practice of asanas (postures), brings clarity to the mind, and keeps the body strong, supple, and healthy.
Annett has been teaching for more than 17 years and six years of running her retreats in Portugal. She has a good eye for the students’ needs and you can make sure you are in good hands.
You will have a two-hour long asana morning class and one and a half hour long restorative class in the afternoon. The yoga sessions are taking place in the new yoga shala and suitable for all levels including beginners with some yoga experience as well as intermediate level.
The groups are small and there is time for personal attention to each student, so all students personally benefit and work on their individual challenges. If you are a beginner, the aim is to make you well-versed on the important basics. Meanwhile, the more advanced yoginis are assisted in evolving and working on their individual issues.
Yoga sessions are held at the new beautiful yoga shala at the Starpine Lodge, set up with all equipment needed including mats, foam blocks, bricks, belts, blankets, and chairs. Iyengar yoga uses all these props to help you practice the poses safely. The classes are taught in English and in Danish.
If you’ve never been on a stand-up paddleboard, don’t be discouraged. The classes are suitable for beginners. Note that paddle boards are extremely stable and built for you to balance on them. Formerly a small local fishing village, Cascais is situated approximately 25 kilometers north of Lisbon and 19 kilometers from Colares (20 minutes by taxi from Colares) and remains local, set on the waterfront, and is connected by a string of smaller urban beaches with the next town Estoril.

Rich in architecture and culture, it’s also a very vibrant city and a must-see for everybody coming to Portugal. It can be easily reached from the camp for a day trip by train from Sintra.
The Natural Park of Sintra-Cascais, spreading out from the mountains of Sintra to the beaches of Cascais, represents a unique diversity of landscape and without doubt the most breathtaking region in Portugal. It includes sand dunes, rugged coastline with high cliffs and sandy bays, dense forests and calm lakes, with the majestic Serra de Sintra overlooking it all.
