Sonja fell in love with Iyengar yoga more than twenty years ago and has since witnessed its remarkable effects in my own life and in the lives of others. She loves passing on the incredible benefits of Iyengar yoga to her students: increased mobility, strength, flexibility, serenity and courage; decreased pain, stress and anxiety. Sonja sees her role as an Iyengar teacher as making each posture accessible to every student so that all can fully experience body, mind and spirit aligning , and leave the studio with greater physical ease, and a lighter heart. What a joy to do so in the mountains!
Two years into Mike's yoga practice he had a near-fatal climbing accident. Mike sustained a number of injuries: five spinal fractures and a compound fracture in his right arm. Doctors told him he would only have 60% mobility in that arm, but he has regained almost total mobility. With the use of props and an integrated approach to yoga, Mike was able to regain his previous ability and surpass it beyond his wildest expectations. Almost 20 years after Mike's accident, not only body, but also mind and soul have been completely rejuvenated by Iyengar yoga. Mike is grateful to pass on these gifts.
