Bali Yoga Retreat

Enjoy a healthy escape in Bali with your host and yoga instructor, Rosie Holland. Experience daily yoga classes, asanas, inversions, and pranayama sessions in an elevated yoga shala overlooking the ocean in a tranquil and exotic setting. Accommodation

During this retreat, you will stay in a shared room at the Pondok Pisang Bungalows. The facilities feature five stylish and comfortable rustic bungalows set in an expansive tropical garden, each with an ocean view and easy access to the private beach area.

Pondok Pisang Bungalows cater to guests from around the world seeking unique experiences whilst indulging in the comfort and humble hospitality of a family run boutique retreat.

All bungalows and the family house are equipped with a hot and cold shower, mosquito net, and a fan. The restaurant is inspired by the traditional flavors of Bali with produce and ingredients sourced locally from the surrounding area whilst the new vegetarian menu.

Program

During this retreat, you will take six days out of your life to de-stress and immerse yourself in the practice with time for relaxing in between. You will enjoy two daily yoga sessions and one pranayama class per day.

There will be a free afternoon on Wednesday and for those who wish to go on a planned trip, this will be an option. Students must have attended Iyengar yoga classes for a minimum of two years.

Instructors

Rosie Holland
Rosie Holland has been an Iyengar yoga practitioner for 40 years and a teacher for 30. She is one of New Zealand's most senior Iyengar yoga practitioners. She is a certified Iyengar Instructor to JI 3 & IYANZ registered. She holds workshops in New Zealand, Switzerland, and retreats in Bali, Golden Bay, New Zealand, and Fiji. She began with a book and later found a Hatha yoga class. As a senior practitioner she is also an assessor for the certification of yoga teachers.

Retreat location

This retreat will take place at the Pondok Pisang Bungalows in Bali, Indonesia. Bali’s best kept secret, a stunningly appointed boutique retreat in the rural setting of tranquil Mendira Village in East Bali’s Karangasem region. Pondok Pisang is nestled in the serenity of its own coconut grove with a private beach perfect for swimming and snorkeling far from the tourist enclaves of the south.

Pondok Pisang is located on the east side of Bali, three kilometers before Candidasa, Pondok Pisang used to be a family compound but has changed its function into a guest house for people seeking a small private get away location.

Food

Three daily healthy meals will be served during this retreat. The commitment to your well-being is reflected in the Pondok Pisang dining options. The newly launched vegetarian selection is the perfect choice for the health conscious guests with sumptuous fresh juices, delicious home made salads, and Asian inspired Western dishes all featuring on the menu.

East Bali is the spiritual home of Balinese cuisine and Pondok Pisang have created a second incredibly unique menu that reflects the heritage at Pondok Pisang and the culinary tradition of the Karangasem region.

Try the authentic signature dishes such as locally prepared ikan pepes (minced spicy fish) steamed and grilled in banana leaves and the delectable sticky black rice pudding with coconut milk and banana.

Both menus are available throughout the day at our restaurant. At Pondok Pisang they nurture a commitment to a healthy lifestyle by sourcing only the freshest organic produce and ingredients from the surrounding area.
