You will be accommodated in Authentic Tentsile Tree tents, that are covered from weather and warm and cozy. Everything is provided from Ivalo Yoga & Wellness, so all you need to bring is yourself!

Program

As the light fades, your inner rhythm changes, and allows you to turn into yourself - to your own body - and to give yourself an opportunity to receive the changes summer has left behind. In Lapland, this transformation of nature is extremely visible, breath-taking even - when the sun sets a bit earlier every day, giving space and preparing for the winter ahead.

Leaves begin to fall, temperatures cool down, and air freshen up. In pace with the seasonal changes, we are giving ourselves a permission to step into this year's cleansing, purifying season with an open, strong mind.

You will dive deep into your body, to your mind, and let daily yoga and meditation practise alongside with different breathing exercises, hikes in the nature, and clean, fresh food do their job.

Sample daily schedule

Day 1 - Tuesday (arrive at your chosen time)

  • 14:00 - 16:00 Getting to know each other and the environment followed by lunch
  • 16:00 - 17:00 Settling down
  • 17:00 - 18:00 Gentle Vinyasa yoga - intention of the retreat
  • 19:00 - 22:00 Sauna and dinner

Day 2 - Wednesday

  • 07:30 - 9.30 Morning Vinyasa and meditation
  • 09:30 - 11:00 Breakfast
  • 12:00 - 15:00 Canoeing/rowing in a nearby lake
  • 15:00 - 16:30 Lunch
  • 18:00 - 19:30 Evening flow
  • 20:00 - 22:00 Sauna and dinner

Day 3 - Thursday

  • 08:00 - 10:00 Morning Vinyasa and meditation
  • 10:00 - 11:00 Breakfast
  • 12:00 - 18:00 Hike to Urho Kekkonen National Park (and packed lunch)
  • 19:00 - 22:00 Sauna and dinner

Day 4 - Friday

  • 08:00 - 10:00 Morning Vinyasa and meditation

  • 12:00 - 16:00 Mindful painting and light lunch
  • 18:00 - 20:00 Sauna yoga in small groups

  • 12:00 - 15:00 Creative writing - Intentions of the Autumn

Day 6 - Sunday (leaving)

The retreat officially ends with the Soul Awakening meditation. Breakfast is provided according to departure timetables.

Retreat location

Ivalo Yoga & Wellness is located at their family-run resort, where you will have access to their heated summer kitchen, sauna and its facilities, yoga patio for chill outs and the nature surrounding it at all times during the retreat.

Food

Ivalo Yoga & Wellness prepares food from local, fresh products as much as possible. In the north, they are able to gather all of their berries and mushrooms from the nature, as well as get fresh fish daily from nearby, clean lakes. They live in one of the cleanest places in Europe, in this can be noticed on the food quality as well!

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Ivalo Airport (IVL). Flights to Ivalo airport run twice a day from Helsinki. You can also get here by taking a train from Helsinki to Rovaniemi, and continuing by bus to Ivalo. Ivalo Yoga & Wellness will pick you up from both Ivalo Airport and Ivalo bus station free of charge.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 20% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 14 days before arrival.
