Accommodation is arranged at East Down Retreat Centre, a stunning thatch, in one of the newly decorated bedrooms with exposed timbers. Bedrooms are shared and have either two or three beds. Subject to availability, you have the option to pay a single room supplement. Each room is named and decorated with the color of one of the elements - earth, air, fire, and water. The yoga studio is located in a fabulous space in the converted barn and enjoys stunning views over the countryside.
Neurogenic yoga and TRE gently re-activate your instinctive tremor and shake mechanism which naturally release deeply held tension or trauma. This is a comfortable relaxing experience that offers profound release. Neurogenic yoga is a form of gentle slow flow Hatha yoga followed by neurogenic release.These help you find release from emotional and physical trauma without having to talk about it, back, neck and shoulder pain, stress, and anxiety.
It is accessible to all levels and honors your pace and where you are in life right now. During teh retreat, you can dip your toe into the retreat, enjoying as much as feels right for you, or you may choose to simply dive in. You are free to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the beautiful haven through walks over the stunning countryside on your own or through a guided wandering, or you might choose to meet yourself on a hill and be still.
Jo's journey began in 2006 with her own search to restore and recover. She had been supporting her son Matt’s journey through the special education system, who had autistic spectrum difficulties. Jo got lost between bureaucracy and overwhelm and needed to find herself again to feel better. Her search began. In researching therapies that would support both her son’s and her healing journey, she gathered a tool kit of practices that offer powerful release from emotional stress, physical stress, and trauma, safely and effectively. She has found all these tools personally healing.
The retreat takes place at Dartmoor, Devon, England with breath-taking views against the lovely backdrop of the hills and mountains. The beautiful breathing space has a historic thatch set among the rolling Devon hills on the edge of Dartmoor to find peace. Take in the breathtaking views in every direction. Spot the diverse wildlife including the wild deer, free to roam their home landscape.
Enjoy a fabulous organic vegetarian feast throughout your stay, prepared with lovingly produced home-grown ingredients. All the food would be organic or produced in an ecologically considered way and seasonal. The menu is designed to the requirements of the group. The inspiration comes from traditional foods from around the world including Latin American food, Middle Eastern mezze style salads, Indian, and Asian.
Afternoon tea would be a home made cake or selection of home made biscuits and coffee or tea. These may include chocolate and beetroot cake, carrot cake, honey biscuits or lavender biscuits.
Guests can walk along the countryside in their free time.
