Thailand Detox, Yoga, Meditation and Dance Retreat for Women

Join Island Yoga for a week of detox practice that will take you to face your body, mind, and emotion. It starts from parasite detox cleansing followed by ancient yogic cleansing and you will go through three phases of program that focus on the womb, heart, and voice. Island Yoga has four types of accommodations to choose from. For the cost conscious traveler, there are dorm beds and private rooms in the budget house. Island Yoga’s comfort bungalows are more spacious with a fan, hot shower, and mosquito net, while the air-conditioned bungalows add a little more luxury to the retreat experience.

Air-conditioned bungalow

This is a fully furnished bungalow that includes air-conditioning, hot shower, and mosquito net.

Budget rooms

There are four private rooms within Island Yoga’s budget house, each with its own bathroom. These rooms have a double bed or two single beds plus a fan, hot shower, and mosquito net.


There are two female dorms and one mixed dorm - each unit having a shared bathroom. All the dorms have single beds, fridge, fans, hot showers, and mosquito nets.

Detoxing from parasites and intestinal worms has tremendous benefit in practicing Yoga and meditation. On energy level parasites are entities representing addictions, anxiety, attachments. They sit in abdomen area, blocking the path between Swadhisthana (Sexual Chakra) and Anahata (Love Chakra). So the communication between these two important centers is disrupted. This leads to unnecessary physical stress and leak of energy.

These foods feed parasites and help them to invade your digestion: include sugar, simple carbohydrates, unhealthy fats and processed and refined foods. This means no sodas or processed fruit juices, processed chocolate, chips or any other junk foods. Baked goods including breads, pies, cakes and cookies should also be avoided, as well as cereals, mashed potatoes, corn, most fruits, meat, dairy, eggs, and anything that comes prepackaged in a box, can or bottle.

In the course there are 3 levels of detoxing:

Pumpkin seeds will be first wave in your detox.

Seeds have been traditionally used as an anthelmintic (a substance that helps expel intestinal parasites). They contain the amino acid called cucurbitin, which paralyzes and eliminates the worms from the digestive tract. Pumpkin seeds have other health benefits too – they are loaded with protein, amino acids, fiber, iron, copper, phosphorus and magnesium, calcium, zinc, potassium, folic acid and niacin; all important nutrients to your pet’s overall good health. This part will be practiced once during course.

Fresh Onion Juice.

It contains sulfur compounds that are anti-parasitic. Onion juice is very effective for intestinal worms, especially tapeworm and threadworms. You will be drinking onion juice every morning before class.

Shank Prakshalana Kriya

An Ayurvedic technique for physical purification and transformation. Shankha prakshalana is the process to clean the intestinal tract from impurities by drinking salty water and performing physical exercises during drinking. In the intestines, ‘residue’ accumulates, waste products remain sitting in the small folds of the intestines, around which tensions can arise, binding energy and affecting one’s well-being. When the intestines are rinsed, the residue and tensions are removed.

The skin becomes clean and soft and various kinds of skin allergies and eczema are relieved, and can even disappear completely. The senses are sharpened to such a degree that they feel as though they were muffled, and have now been unwrapped. "I will never forget the taste of that boiled carrot I ate after my first intestinal cleansing. Its taste was more carrot-like than I had ever previously experienced. The effects, however, are not only physical, such as an improvement in taste and sight. When the coarse tensions are removed from the stomach and abdomen, you have the released energy at your disposal, and the body feels light and healthy. It becomes easier to calm down, something that facilitates the learning of yoga and meditation." You will be doing 1 session of this Kriya in the course.

Woman's Womb

is the essence of life. We are coming from the Womb. It is sense of being back home. For woman - it is her second brain. It is her acceptance of her heritage, that she carries from her parents and ancestors. Woman's reproductive system imprints the beliefs of family, society, partners. Every woman carries a whole world in her lower belly.

In Yoga tradition sexual organs are represented by first three Chakras - the pillars of life. InTraditional Chinese Medicine these 3 Chakras unite into one center - Lower Tan Tien - Jing. We are using both Yogic and Daoist practices to heal and empower these centers.

You are going to learn and practice: Anatomy and physiology of Feminine organs, inner and external cycles, Infinity Movement meditation, Ovarian Breath, Feeding organs from Mother Earth, Cleansing organs from past sexual relations, releasing sexual traumas, accepting and loving own organs, transformation of sexual energy into spiritual, healing relations with parents and ancestors.

Woman's heart

Heart is the Temple where feelings live. Feelings that are often misunderstood, ignored and suppressed. Heart is the first organ that is developed on a 4th week of embryo's life. The brain and nervous system starts it's development ~3 weeks after. It is the heart that leads the mind. But modern life style, constant competition forces woman to live in achieving mode society, where feelings are often not welcomed. And in such conditions woman becomes a potential threat to herself and people she loves.

You are going to learn and practice: The anatomy of Heart organ and it's psycho somatic relation on physical and mental levels, Goddess Temple meditation, Osho Dynamic Meditation, Gift of forgiving, Tantric and Taoist techniques of transforming heart's fire into healing power, Shakti Yoga Flow, Sacred Cacao ceremony, Sacred Union in the temple of own Heart - Self Marriage ritual, Dance.

Woman Voice

her voice or her throat center. Being unable and not educated of expression she swallows what she hears, what she says, thinks and feels. Unexpressed and unrealized emotions turn into sickness. Throat is the gateway for her creativity (womb) and feelings (heart) to be revealed. She needs and she wants to let it all out. But often she is scared and simply doesn't know how to.

You are going to learn and practice: Shamanic Breathwork, in blocking throat and releasing the voice, Exercise of truth and false, Chantings, Lunar and Solar meditation, opening gates of Pelvic and Jaw.

Aliya Galim

Aliya is originally from Kazakhstan. She is International accredited Yoga Instructor, E-RYT 200, RYT 500. She builds and shares her practice around conscious movement, dance and breath. Aliya founded courses for women and couples that allow participants to realize their self-love dharma. Aliya teaches and practices Yin, Hatha, Vinyasa yoga styles. Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga used to be part of her journey, being grateful to this style of Yoga she let it go eventually. It built her inner strength and self-discipline. But today she understand that it goes against her creative nature and feminine quality. Aliya keeps discovering new ways of movement, she is a fan of Budokon by Cameron Shayne (Yoga and martial arts style), 5Rhythm dance by Gabrielle Roth (therapeutic liberating dance). She is following the conscious anatomy concept, like embryological psycho somatic development of human’s physiology and anatomy by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, continuum movement by Emilie Conrad, Qigong and Tao practices by Mantak Chia. Apart from group sessions Aliya is working individually through own developed session Guided Somatic Development, which helps clients to release mental and emotional blockages, unsolved stress and unhealthy memory. She believes in diversity of practice, safety and compassion. Aliya travels and teaches around UAE, Lebanon, Kazakhstan, Turkey, India, Bali, Thailand.


Aliya Galim
Yoga Alliance E-RYT 200, RYT 500 (Yoga)
Aliya Galim is the founder and host of Woman of Wisdom retreats. She is a certified yoga instructor E-RYT 200, RYT 500 in Ashtanga, Yin, Vinyasa, and Hatha. Aliya is a ritualist and Reiki practitioner second level and works with people through guided somatic dialogue and intermittent hypoxic therapy. She currently lives in India from where she travels to conduct international retreats and workshops.

Retreat location

This retreat will be held in Koh Yao Noi. Koh Yao Noi is located in the Phang Nga Bay between Phuket and Krabi. It remains one of the rare gems of South East Asia, an island still largely undiscovered by mainstream tourism with pristine beaches, friendly locals, and outstanding natural beauty. It really is the perfect retreat hideaway.

The island is completely safe and the locals are very friendly and polite. It’s remarkable to walk down the main street in the market and see every motor scooter with its key in the ignition.

Daily buffet breakfast and lunch are provided throughout your stay. You can also order snacks, shakes, and dinner at the retreat center or visit other restaurants in the village and around the island. You can order vegetarian options to most items on the local restaurant menus. There is a water station at the restaurant where you can refill your water bottles.

Things to do (optional)

Plenty of leisure time between yoga classes allows you to discover the islands’ customs and culture, adventures, and cuisine. You can cruise the spectacular Phang Nga Bay, explore the island by bicycle or scooter, take a Thai cookery class, or just relax in the hammock, or get a massage.

Island hopping extravaganza

Go on an exploration on an island hopping extravaganza with Island Yoga for an extra cost. You will board a long tail boat around the limestone towers and lagoons of the Phang Nga Bay. This world-famous marine national park is home to many of Thailand’s “bird nesting” sites where locals collect swallows nests to make the renowned bird nest soup.

There are usually three islands that you will visit and where you can explore primordial lagoons hidden within the limestone karsts plus you will get the chance to snorkel and swim directly off the boat.

The final stop is to a pristine beach for more swimming, picnicking, beachcombing, and tropical island discovery. Often, the greatest challenge is to remember to get back in time for evening yoga class.

Mystical mangroves

If you’re up for an adventure, you’re welcome to try mystical mangroves kayaking for an additional cost. Once a week, Island Yoga ventures across the bay to kayak the tranquil waterways of AoTha Lane. The mangroves are a naturalist’s wonderland: silently gliding through this secret utopia, you will discover an abundance of wildlife including troops of monkeys, flying fish, eagles and owls, giant butterflies, and giant lizards!

The caves, stalactite formations, and primeval lagoons hidden within the mangroves are truly stunning. You will stop at Koh Pak Bia on the journey home to picnic, swim, and snorkel around this perfect “castaway” island and try to remember to get back in time for the evening yoga.

How to get there

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Phuket International Airport (HKT) or Krabi Airport (KBV).

Arrival by bus

If you arrive in Krabi, you can take a bus ride from the town. This route is a little more complex. Please ask the locals or the tourist information in Krabi Town for bus times to Tha Lane Pier.

Arrival by ferry / boat

It’s generally easier to access the island via Phuket, which has more flight and ferry options than Krabi. If you fly into Phuket, the last island ferry leaves for the island at 5:30 p.m. If you fly into Krabi, the last ferry leaves for the island at 5:15 p.m.

From Phuket, take a taxi to Bang Rong Pier. The journey will take approximately 25 minutes and costs about 600 THB. From the pier, catch the ferry to Koh Yao Noi. It’s 30 minutes by speedboat and costs 200 THB per person. The journey will take one hour by long tail that costs 120 THB per person. When you arrive in the island, take a shared taxi to Island Yoga which is 20 minutes away. The taxi ride costs 150 THB per person.

From Krabi, take a taxi to Tha Lane Pier. The journey will take approximately 45 minutes and costs about 700 to 800 THB. From the pier, catch the ferry to Koh Yao Noi. The ferryies leave every hour starting from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. It’s 30 minutes by speedboat and costs 200 THB per person. The journey will take one hour by long tail that costs 120 THB per person.

When you arrive in the island, take a five-minute taxi ride to Island Yoga. The fare is 50 THB per person.
